I have to agree he was a colorful person where I did not always agree with what all he had posted, but he was entitled to his opinion no matter if we agreed or not. He has passed now it is time for all to heal.

I do not think there is anything stupid about it. The older American's have supported this country for a very long time, and deserve a lot of respect for what they have done. Hate to say it but it is the younger generation that has no respect for the older people, some no respect for themselves. Also if you really look at it what has happened to a lot of the management positions around where they are ran by people who are 40 and younger? No respect for the employees, multi tasking for a lot lower pay where their scale goes up, others goes down, and some companies can not stand by the product that they produce because their standards are not what they should be.

Thank you for the beautiful video. You are so right with each person has their own personal beliefs.

Something to think about as we begin a New Year and a new President taking control of our nation! With that in mind, I say, "GOD BLESS THE AMERICAN." Thomas Jefferson could be called a prophet. Here are some Jefferson quotes: When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe. Thomas Jefferson The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. Thomas Jefferson It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world. Thomas Jefferson I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. Thomas Jefferson My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government Thomas Jefferson No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. Thomas Jefferson The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. Thomas Jefferson The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Thomas Jefferson To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. Thomas Jefferson And one, last, Very Interesting Quote: In light of the present financial crisis, it's interesting to read what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: 'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

If this can happen in a country like England where most people think of the Bobbies just carrying night sticks and hand cuffs, to another country were the people have to worry about someone coming into their homes. When will it all end were the law abiding people will no longer be stepped on? View the video at YouTube.

Palin says she might run for high office again
Raven replied to Human's topic in United States Politics
I liked John McCain for his service to our Country, and that I thank him for, but for Palin that is a different story. I do not believe in mixing church and state in decisions effecting our country, or someone's personal life. If their is a woman who will run for office in 2012 then I really hope it would be Ms. Rice or Senator Clinton. Both woman have the knowledge and tenure to be President. But in the meantime congratulations to President Elect Barack Obama. -

Raven replied to Human's topic in United States Politics
Quiet honestly Human I really hope you do not leave the Boards. I personally want to thank you for your insights in the elections, and the all the major topics that was brought to the for front by you. So I guess I for one would like you to stay. -
I have a cell with all the little gadgets on it and love it, but I feel the biggest problem is when you do not get service in your own home.
-
You are so right it is going to be a long night. Today was something with all the people in line to vote, it was a joy to see so many people getting involved this year in the elections. Human, yes we all do have to get along no matter who wins or loses.

A friend had sent this to me, and I thought I would share it. I do not know how accurate it is, but there are statements in it that I found interesting, and I has me thinking as well Subject: David Letterman: The RIGHT perspective David Letterman wrote this; it's the David we don't often see... " As most of you know I am not a President Bush fan, nor have I ever been, but this is not about Bush, it is about us, as Americans, and it seems to hit the mark 'The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some Poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source, right? The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, 'What are we so unhappy about?'' A.. Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 Days a week? B.. Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? C.. Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job? D.. Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year? E.. Maybe it is the ability to drive our cars and trucks from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through each state? F.. Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter? G.. I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just not good enough either. H. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopter to take you to the hospital. I.. Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. J.. You may be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames, thus saving you, your family, and your belongings. K.. Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes, an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your family against attack or loss . L.. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90% of teenagers own cell phones and computers. M. How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67% of you folks unhappy. Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have, and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here. I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me? Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad? Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the 'Media' told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day. Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an 'other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a ''dishonorable' ' discharge after a few days in the brig. So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crash with blood and guts How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations. They offer what sells, and when criticized, try to defend their actions by 'justifying' them in one way or another Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way......Insane! Turn off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird cage. Then start being grateful for all we have as country. There is exponentially more good than bad. We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative.' 'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, 'Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?' David Letterman

I have been paying attention to what all you have been saying, and honestly you have more of a grasp of what is going on economically then anyone else I have read or heard. Where do you think it will all end up at?

There is more to life then beer. What about the people who can not find jobs, or the people losing their homes that they have worked so hard to get? What about the education of the children since they are our future? Sorry but there is a lot more to life then beer!

If she did violate the ethics laws where does that leave the American people? Do we really want another person in office who clearly does not obey the laws they are suppose to govern?

I don't know about the lawyers on here, but thanks for the link.

Thank you Luke for sharing the e-mail about Mrs. McCain. I have read and seen several videos about Mrs Obama, and after reading the post, she has nothing on Mrs. McCain. I think the e-mail also proves that someone around a public figure can have a private life, without criticizing our country, or degrading others to make themselves look good.

Medicare has not even started to feel the pinch yet with the baby boomers just now starting to reach social security age. No child left behind is a farce. Sorry but I feel the money that is suppose to go to the education of the children is going to face lifts, and build new school where they may not be needed. That is not improving the scores the students should be getting, but trying to keep up with the Jones. There are schools out there that do not have enough books, everyday supplies, and even qualified teachers to educate them. Then another big thing that the students need are parents who can spend time tutoring their children. I am not blaming the parents because we all have to work, but at what cost? Our children's education. If our national defecate is going to go sky high where does that leave the lower and middle class people? Increased taxes, less services, or up a creek without a paddle.

This is something that happened to a friend of mine, and it is deplorable that it happened to her and that women here are still fighting for their choice. It is time for the government to stay out of a womens body and let her make that choice. My heart goes out to my friend, and for McCain and Palin to want to put women back into the gutters or back alleys, no way, no how, not now or ever. I'm tired of ignorant people like Sarah P. It's the year 2008! I can't believe that today we are still fighting the right for a woman to terminate a pregnancy especially when a woman is raped. I was raped at the age of 11, molested for 5 years. It took 15years of therapy for me to be able to hold my husband without having a flashback. It took years for me to heal my body from the beatings. Now someone is telling me that if I get raped and get pregnant it was God's will! And I must have the baby! Wow, God wanted me to get raped! What's next? It's the woman fault, so let's do like some country's and put the woman to death for allowing the man to rape her?! This S.O.B should walk in my shoes for a few days. Maybe after a few nightmares and a few flashbacks, she'll know why none should have to have a child they don,t want!!!

Here is the link to the article. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=...mp;pageId=75453 WND Exclusive MATTERS OF LIFE AND DEATH Palin attacked over rape-kit controversy Alaska law forces taxpayers to fund 'emergency contraception' Posted: September 16, 2008 12:55 pm Eastern By Chelsea Schilling © 2008 WorldNetDaily Recent media reports indicate Sarah Palin approved of charging sexual assault victims for rape kits while she was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, until Democrat Gov. Tony Knowles signed a bill in 2000 granting funds for victims services – but few reports reveal the law calls for taxpayers to foot the bill for "emergency contraception" services. According to a 2000 report in the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, Alaska state troopers and police departments routinely paid for rape kits, materials for gathering and preserving physical evidence of sexual assault, costing between $300 and $1,200 each. "(But) the Wasilla police department does charge the victims of sexual assault for the tests," the Frontiersman reported, although it did not reference a specific case.

Guest that is what is really bothering me is that his own party is speaking out against him. True he does have a proven track record for reaching across the table. He has given a lot to this country as well. I just do not think that the AVERAGE American citizen can handle 4 more years if they proceed with the Bush economics. We need jobs here, and not just the type where it is paper pushing, service, but more manufacturing, and a heck of a lot less out sourcing. I also feel that WOMEN have a choice, and NO ONE should tell them what to do with their bodies, or their con sense. As far a voting Democrat, that is still to be seen yet, all facts are not in, and until they are I am open.

LOL, Hook, Line, and Sinker. Right now I think the worse ones to be in office is McCain and Paline. I still feel that our country can not stand four more years of a Republican in office, if they are going to proceed with what Bush is doing now.
