I am from a state that is mostly Republicans, and even the old timers here are having enough of the lies being told by McCain. As far a Palin goes, they do not like what she has done to the women of Alaska on trying to charge them for their rape kits. Nothing like victimizing them twice, bad idea.

I agree with Luke, There are to many people who get dissatisfied with the elections because of the back stabbing and lies be told about the other candidates. Then by the time the elections do come around every one is a little confused on who said what that there may be votes cast for the wrong person who really can make a change.

If anyone has been traveling the country side here you will see that there are solar panels up across the country. States are using them for their lights, some Government sites are using them for lights and electricity as well. There are some government programs out there for home owners to install solar panels, but the problem for some areas is getting the funding, county permits, etc. for the installation of them.

GOV SARAH PALIN TO BE MCCAIN'S RUNNING MATE
Raven replied to Psycho's topic in Campaigns and Elections
I agree. I also do not like the fact that she is mixing church and state together saying the war is God's will. My God is not a vengeful one, and to cause harm to another is not his way. -
Help Stop the Bush Administration's Eleventh-Hour Attack on Endangered Species The end of the Bush administration may be drawing nigh, but that’s not stopping them from trying to gut one of the most important laws that protects our imperiled wildlife. Take action now to express your outrage and urge them to back down: https://secure.defenders.org/site/Advocacy?..._einterest=C3C4 Last month, the Bush administration proposed sweeping changes to the Endangered Species Act that would eliminate vital checks and balances that were put in place to help protect polar bears, wolverines, lynx and other wildlife that are struggling to survive. Please take action now: Tell the Bush administration to withdraw this dangerous proposal -- and help ensure that the Endangered Species Act continues to protect our most vulnerable wildlife from extinction. https://secure.defenders.org/site/Advocacy?..._einterest=C3C4

I will have to agree that Hilary would of been a good Vice President, but I also think she would of been a better President.

This is a video I had found on one man's view on the Presidential candidates, and I thought it was interesting to watch his views. View the video at YouTube.

You are so right to have no stress with our busy life styles is difficult. Yoga, meditation, long walks in the park or just around the block will help relieve stress. There is just talking to family, friends, reading a book, watching television to help as well. But on the down side of people having stress is that they turn to prescription or illegal drugs, start drinking alcohol as stress relievers, they do not help anyone. The stress will still be there when they sober up, then what more of the same? All drugs and alcohol does is ruin lives, families, and possibly take a life because of their usage.

I use Firefox and like it. But I also have a Gmail account through Google, but not the Chrome browser can they still get my info from just using GMail? I just do not like the idea of someone knowing or potentially telling me what I can look at or read on the internet. OH, and for clarification I do not go to **adult material** sites, lol.

GOV SARAH PALIN TO BE MCCAIN'S RUNNING MATE
Raven replied to Psycho's topic in Campaigns and Elections
I do not know about the rest of you, but I am a grown adult and like to read. I read about many different subjects and all this reminds me of is this: n his 1821 play, Almansor, the German writer Heinrich Heine — referring to the burning of the Muslim holy book, the Qur'an, during the Spanish Inquisition — wrote, "Where they burn books, so too will they in the end burn human beings." ("Dort, wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man auch am Ende Menschen." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_burning#...ical_background I also do not like that fact that they are trying to force their religion on me, or on anyone else for that matter. -
The 65 mpg Ford Fiesta ECOnetic Not to be sold in USA
Raven replied to Luke_Wilbur's topic in Automotive Advances
For no better word for it that stinks. No wonder more and more Americans are buying foreign cars if our own auto manufactures are not willing manufacture better energy effect auto here. -
Human, I do not know about anyone else on this board, but I like that fact that you say what is on your mind as well as keep most of us thinking. With me you have shown no only to read the major papers, but to read what the other less know papers are saying as well about what is going on. Games? I like the one about Chavez it really had me searching to find the answer, thanks. As far as "your own political world", that can be taken two ways. 1. More power to you. 2. I hope a long time in coming.

That I find so hilarious!!! The truth does hurt, and it always comes out sooner or later. So the one mocking could always be the one mocked. The silly Jokers image was better then an image I totally distrust.

Robert Novak, has undergone brain surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumor. Since the surgery he has lost partial vision and is due to undergo radiation and chemo. Novak, editor of the Evans-Novak Political Report, has been a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times for decades. He is perhaps best known as the co-host of CNN's "Crossfire" from 1980 to 2005. In his Saturday column he wrote: that he underwent a four-hour surgery August 15 at Duke University Medical Center, during which a 3-inch-by-1½-inch tumor was removed. Dr. Allan H. Friedman, the chief of neurosurgery at the hospital, who operated on Sen. Edward Kennedy's brain tumor this summer, performed the surgery. Novak was the first to reveal the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame. His 2003 column came out eight days after Plame's husband, Joseph Wilson, said the Bush administration had twisted prewar intelligence to exaggerate the threat posed by Iraq. I am not taking delight in anyone's illness, especially when it comes to cancer. Cancer has hit my family, as well as friends. There are thousands of people out there that are missed diagnosed, and it turns out to be cancer after months of needless treatment for an illness that they did not have. More accurate tests, better treatments, earlier detection are needed so more lives can be saved.

My point being it that there are people voting for Obama because he is an African American. On the same point they will not vote for him because of it as well. Then the other point is that there are some who will not vote for Palin because she is a woman, and will because she is one. Then there is Mc Cain and his age, but has served his country well. Biden is one of the good ole boys, and has lost every time he has ran for President. Our jobs as voters is to decipher through all the hype and pick a canadate that will serve ALL the people, and not special interest, lobbiest, or anyone that will contribute the most to their pockets. It is time in my opinion that one person one vote becomes the norm, and then maybe the people will get more involved with what is taking place in out Country. For is it was one person one vote then Jesse Jackson would of been our First African American President.

John Mc Cain maybe an older gentleman, but from your writings you don't sound to be much younger then he is. Senator Mc Cain is from the old stock of Americans who know how to do a job and get it done. I really don't think the stress of Presidency will effect him in the least. Governor Palin from what I have read to date sounds like she will be a good Vice President, and is not of the "good ole boy" network. This is the 21st century and anyone can be President. The only thing that is getting to me is that some people are voting for this or that person because of race or gender. How about voting for a person for what they will do for the country, and the American people. And not because they are this or that color, or this or that gender, or has a good personia. I want someone in office that will lower my taxes, give the jobs back to the American people, find alternate energy, get raid of the pork belly, downsize the government, and give the American people a fighting chance to be able to support their families wihout worries on where the next pay check is coming from.

I have read a lot of articles on here and other sites, and not one have really asked directly to the people posting what the Presidential Office means to them. Does it matter to you what race the person is? Does it matter to you what gender the person is? Does it matter to you on how they will improve our Country? Does it matter to you if they lower taxes, or keep the lower or middle America struggling to make ends met? Does it matter to you if we have a strong military force? Does it matter to you if we have a better health care system? Does it matter to you if we still have the "good ole boy" mentality after the elections? These are just a few things that come to mind, and things I have been going through mine as November is getting closer and we have to make up our minds on who will serve America the best and get it back to a more stable government.

WHEN IS AMERICA GOING TO SAY --- ENOUGH
Raven replied to Psycho's topic in District of Columbia Politics
Do you have a blog page? If so what is it called? -
Thank you Luke for the transcript, very in lighting. I have also been watching the videos from last night. I like her style, frankness, and what she has done for the Alaskans. Palin cut their budget, and what I thought was very amusing is she put the Governors jet on E Bay,lol. Palin is not of the "good ole boy" network, has stopped a bridge to nowhere, and cut out the pork belly of spending, as well as passed and ethics reform bill there. I think she has what it takes, if the media will give OPEN MINDED views on all candidates, and stop giving their personal view on who would make a better President.

I like Senator Fred Thomas and what he stood for and to read the speech given for Senator McCain was and is very moving. The speech gave more insight on who and what Senator McCain stands for and will do for the country.

GOV SARAH PALIN TO BE MCCAIN'S RUNNING MATE
Raven replied to Psycho's topic in Campaigns and Elections
I am registered one way and thinking of voting the other way, lol. I like Biden and what he stands for, but Obama does not have the tenure to be President. McCain does have the tenure, but can our Country stand four more years of what is going on now? The high unemployment rate, the outsourcing, and believe it our not the discrimination going on under most people's noses and nothing is done. I do not mean the kind that is exterior, the race, but I mean the age of a person trying to get ahead, and that is not right. But maybe with McCain being in office that may change with him being an older American. -
WHEN IS AMERICA GOING TO SAY --- ENOUGH
Raven replied to Psycho's topic in District of Columbia Politics
There are other religions out there besides Christians. There are Jews, Protestant, Catholics, Muslins, and probably many others. When any couple is in a matrimonial union neither should be unfaithful, Most people do not vote because they do not want to take the time to get involved with the government, or the running of it. Then there are some who really get involved, and the more power to them for it.
