Here are a few things that should be know about SOME MEN: Signs he is married. • Wears clothes you like and when you comment on them he doesn’t know the brand or where he p urchased them. Of course the wife bought them • Won’t answer the phone, you get voice mail and he calls back later • Only talks to you when he’s walking the dog • Only talks to you when he’s driving • Gets testy when you kiss his neck, the leave marks, lipstick on collar thing • Carefully folds and places his clothes down before making love as opposed to tearing them off in a heap • Never available on Holidays – it’s family time • Never available in the evening • You’ve never been invited over • The tan line, ring dent • Spent in the bedroom – two lovers does take it’s toll • Car sex is the norm • Showers before leaving – i.e. removing your scent • Washes the unit before leaving – wife’s have a 6th sense for this odor • Takes his cell phone with him when he leaves the table, hate for you too see the phone light up and say Wifey • You don’t have his work number • You don’t have his home phone number • Won’t answer his phone in front of you • He comes to your area of town – as not to be seen in his • Edgy in restaurants, looking around • Won’t open his wallet and show you the pics of the kids – mixed in with the wife • Breaks dates at the last minute • Can’t spend the night • Says he’s going out of town for X number of days, on business and you don’t hear from him. See the wife is with him 24/7 at this time • You do not meet any of his friends • You’ll see him outside talking on the cell, like goes to the bathroom and has to slip in a call • Gets nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs when you pick up his cell phone • Only takes you to restaurants he’s never been to – go figure. Can’t risk having that darn waitress/waiter recognize him • Doesn’t charge for meals, events, whatever...Always cash. Wifey pays the bills • You find the cell phone bill has been opened and the itemized call pages are missing • Ditto with credit card bills • Will not use his toll transponder in the car, does the slow cash lane as the wife will see the tolls and locations paid – real sneaky crap there, attorneys use that one for divorces. • Different color hairs in the car and they’re not dog • Never gets too much sun when he’s with you, the wife would ask about it, how that happened at work or wherever he lied and said he was going • Weekend availability is nil • You’ve never met his children • Your name is stored in his phone as some guys name • You will find the cell phone bill opened up and the itemized pages are removed – ditto with the CC statements name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>&rel=1"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"> View the video at YouTube. Update on Hurricane Gustav Preparedness Efforts
Raven replied to Luke_Wilbur's topic in Environment and Wildlife
I have family and friends that live in the hurricane area, and my prayers are going out to them and anyone else in the area for their safety. I think Katrina taught everyone a lesson, and that lesson was that anything can happen in a natural disaster. To follow safety measures, and not delay in evacuating the area. -

A McCain & Palin Administration Will Stop This
Raven replied to Psycho's topic in Campaigns and Elections
Sir: After reading all the information that was posted a while back, and reading what is being posted now I have learned to take everything with a grain of salt. Christians teach to turn the other cheek, other religions teach tolerance as well. But what I think will fit the best is Karma, it will always kick you in the end. I don't remember who said it here on the message board, but thanks for the saying. Most of all it shows how some well educated people can have narrow, bigoted minds, and has no tolerance for anyone, including themselves. Keep letting him spout his spew, I am getting big laughs out of it. -

I just read this article about Governor Palin, and honestly she sounds like a woman who will not take any bull from anyone. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/r...ves_to_nat.html -
Honorable Mayor Fenty, I am not associated with any paper, just a normal everyday person. I would like to do an interview with you on your time at your convenience. I have nothing to gain and nothing to lose by doing it, except maybe setting some of the records straight. You may leave me an message here if you would like to have the interview. Thank you, RavenM

The speech was very good, I just hope he pays attention to some of what Hilary wanted to do for the American people. If Obama does that with helping the low and middle class with tax cuts, getting a better health care system in place, as well as doing away with outsourcing to improve our ecomony then we well be in a better place then we are now.
-
For all of the Republicans out there what has your party really done for the people. Besides high interest rates, housing cost that the average American not afford or buy a home, low wages high unemployment rates, outsourcing. No control on the insurance companies where people are losing their coverage because of a sickness that could not be prevented, drug companies, and a FDA taking to long to approve medications that will work now for the people. The time is now for a major change, and it is up to the people to make it. We have to look through all the bull out there to find the truth and go with out minds and heart to make the best decision we can.
-
With both speeches by Senator Clinton, and former President Clinton I think the supporters who back Hilary will throw their support to Obama. The question is will Senator Obama if elected follow through with what Senator Clinton wanted started or has started for the people of the United States.

I will agree with that considered that gas prices has drop by almost seventy cents in the last week. But I do have a feeling that right after Labor Day they will rise drastically.

The fictional character Archie Bunker was a bigot, sexist, narrow minded person.

Andrew Dice Clay covered several topics in this video: Smoking, Women, Gays, and Cheaters, and lets not forget he covered Himself as well. The thing that bothers me the most about the video is that EVERYONE is fair game to him just so he can make a joke. Women are only doing what men have done for centuries that is to be more selective on whom they want to be with. Smoking is not healthy for anyone, but it is also not the contributing factor of some diseases. Cheaters can be anyone male or female, so if you support that I feel sorry for your wife. Gays have their own life style, and it has been proven that there is a cromizon that is different between gay and straight men. And as far as it being against Gods will, he created all life.

ELECT PHIL PANNELL TO THE US SENATE
Raven replied to Psycho's topic in District of Columbia Politics
Are you implying that Phil Pannell is the Shadow Senator that appears in the videos that are on You Tube? If so he has some off the wall ideas. -

Sir: I do not necessary listen to all the polls, I listen to what the people are talking about. Some Hilary supports will vote for Obama because of Biden just to keep unity in the Democrat party. Then you have some who will cast their vote for McCain just to spite Obama, then there are people who will cast a vote for Nader for a total change in the system. The very last group of people are the ones who will not vote at all because they do not like either candidate.

Smithsonian Scientists Discover New Bird Species
Raven replied to Luke_Wilbur's topic in Environment and Wildlife
The olive-backed forest robin sounds like it is a very colorful bird indeed. With so much of their natural habituates being destroyed by so called progress, pollution, it makes my feathers ruffle with joy to hear we have another new species out there. -
Joe Biden is versed in foreign affairs. The people who wanted Hilary as President may vote for Obama because of Biden.

It was the Japaneses who bombed Pearl Harbor, but here is a time line for you. Sequence of Events Saturday, December 6 - Washington D.C. - U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt makes a final appeal to the Emperor of Japan for peace. There is no reply. Late this same day, the U.S. code-breaking service begins intercepting a 14-part Japanese message and deciphers the first 13 parts, passing them on to the President and Secretary of State. The Americans believe a Japanese attack is imminent, most likely somewhere in Southeast Asia. Sunday, December 7 - Washington D.C. - The last part of the Japanese message, stating that diplomatic relations with the U.S. are to be broken off, reaches Washington in the morning and is decoded at approximately 9 a.m. About an hour later, another Japanese message is intercepted. It instructs the Japanese embassy to deliver the main message to the Americans at 1 p.m. The Americans realize this time corresponds with early morning time in Pearl Harbor, which is several hours behind. The U.S. War Department then sends out an alert but uses a commercial telegraph because radio contact with Hawaii is temporarily broken. Delays prevent the alert from arriving at headquarters in Oahu until noontime (Hawaii time) four hours after the attack has already begun. Sunday, December 7 - Islands of Hawaii, near Oahu - The Japanese attack force under the command of Admiral Nagumo, consisting of six carriers with 423 planes, is about to attack. At 6 a.m., the first attack wave of 183 Japanese planes takes off from the carriers located 230 miles north of Oahu and heads for the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor - At 7:02 a.m., two Army operators at Oahu's northern shore radar station detect the Japanese air attack approaching and contact a junior officer who disregards their reports, thinking they are American B-17 planes which are expected in from the U.S. west coast. Near Oahu - At 7:15 a.m., a second attack wave of 167 planes takes off from the Japanese carriers and heads for Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor is not on a state on high alert. Senior commanders have concluded, based on available intelligence, there is no reason to believe an attack is imminent. Aircraft are therefore left parked wingtip to wingtip on airfields, anti-aircraft guns are unmanned with many ammunition boxes kept locked in accordance with peacetime regulations. There are also no torpedo nets protecting the fleet anchorage. And since it is Sunday morning, many officers and crewmen are leisurely ashore. At 7:53 a.m., the first Japanese assault wave, with 51 'Val' dive bombers, 40 'Kate' torpedo bombers, 50 high level bombers and 43 'Zero' fighters, commences the attack with flight commander, Mitsuo Fuchida, sounding the battle cry: "Tora! Tora! Tora!" (Tiger! Tiger! Tiger!). The Americans are taken completely by surprise. The first attack wave targets airfields and battleships. The second wave targets other ships and shipyard facilities. The air raid lasts until 9:45 a.m. Eight battleships are damaged, with five sunk. Three light cruisers, three destroyers and three smaller vessels are lost along with 188 aircraft. The Japanese lose 27 planes and five midget submarines which attempted to penetrate the inner harbor and launch torpedoes. Escaping damage from the attack are the prime targets, the three U.S. Pacific Fleet aircraft carriers, Lexington, Enterprise and Saratoga, which were not in the port. Also escaping damage are the base fuel tanks. The casualty list includes 2,335 servicemen and 68 civilians killed, with 1,178 wounded. Included are 1,104 men aboard the Battleship USS Arizona killed after a 1,760-pound air bomb penetrated into the forward magazine causing catastrophic explosions. In Washington, various delays prevent the Japanese diplomats from presenting their war message to Secretary of State, Cordell Hull, until 2:30 p.m. (Washington time) just as the first reports of the air raid at Pearl Harbor are being read by Hull. News of the "sneak attack" is broadcast to the American public via radio bulletins, with many popular Sunday afternoon entertainment programs being interrupted. The news sends a shockwave across the nation and results in a tremendous influx of young volunteers into the U.S. armed forces. The attack also unites the nation behind the President and effectively ends isolationist sentiment in the country. Monday, December 8 - The United States and Britain declare war on Japan with President Roosevelt calling December 7, "a date which will live in infamy..." Thursday, December 11 - Germany and Italy declare war on the United States. The European and Southeast Asian wars have now become a global conflict with the Axis powers; Japan, Germany and Italy, united against America, Britain, France, and their Allies. Wednesday, December 17 - Admiral Chester W. Nimitz becomes the new commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Both senior commanders at Pearl Harbor; Navy Admiral Husband E. Kimmel, and Army Lt. General Walter C. Short, were relieved of their duties following the attack. Subsequent investigations will fault the men for failing to adopt adequate defense measures.

I think more people will cross party lines then predicted. I know some that will no vote for McCain because of his age, and do not like what he stands for. I know some that will vote for Obama just because he is African American. I think everyone should make an honest decision on who they will vote for, and not because of the race, age, or gender of the candidate .

I am not against corporations making a profit for themselves or their shareholders, but I am against over two thirds of the manufacturing jobs, and just jobs in general be outsourced. Where has it left the unemployment rate? It is over 9% in DC alone, and what about rest of the country what is their percentage? The percentages do not include the people whose benefits have ran out or the ones who do not qualify.

Americans Cannot Afford to Continue Bush’s Failed Economic Policies
Raven replied to a topic in United States Politics
I will have to agree. There has been to many families who have lost their homes because of buying with the adjustable rate. To many people having to make a hard decision of putting gas in their autos or buying groceries, medications, or something that a child needed. Then with cold weather just around the corner then what? Do they do without something else to heat their homes, or do they just do without heat? This have to change soon. I know it all comes down to the bottom line of the companies, share holders, but we as consumers should be able to dictate to them that we can not keep putting more money out then what is being brought into the homes. -
B vitamins: no magic bullet against heart disease
Raven replied to Human's topic in Herbal Medicines
There are so many different opinions of what people should be taking and not taking that at times it is confusing to most people. I take several different vitamins daily, but my doctor wants me to take only a multi purpose vitamin and not all the separate ones that I do. She said that all of them are not needed, and that the one a day will survive. But we can to an agreement I will take all that I do , and she will let me, lol.
