  1. Thanks I really liked the artist and the song as well.
  2. The time has come for change, and I just do not mean the Presidential election coming up. There is hurt feelings, distrust, even hatred for others of not liked minds. As a country in a whole we can not survive on one mind set. It takes All the People to be involved with running the country, helping others, and to make the proper changes for the Whole. Listen and take time to read what the song is saying. Together we will Make The Change. I do not care if you are straight, gay, bi or your choice, but I do care that when someone is running for a political office that they are up front and honest with the people that they want to represent. 3. As a registered voter I think it is time for a change. There are too many people with just the mind set of just two parties, Democrat or Republican. One is a puppet the other is another Bush, and the American people can not afford to have that in office for another four years. We all have who we like, or just staying with a particular party because of that is how we normally vote, but for one I am going to think outside of the box. I would like it to be one person, one vote, not delegates dictating to me who my vote should go to.
  4. In actuality if a person is self motivated they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.
  5. I will have to agree that there is cronyism in the work place, and discrimination from those in the HR Departments. Here are a few people you may find interesting as some dropped out of school, or started college then dropped out. Henry Ford-Left home at 16, then later started Ford Motor Company. Walt Disney-Dropped out at 16, and we are all aware of the Disney Corporation. Debbi Fields-No business experience started Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chippery. But my all time favorite is Milton Hershey-Founder of Hershey's Milk Chocolate had only a forth grade education. Hershey's was the first nationally marketed chocolate, he also focused on have a good community for his workers. Having a large formal education does not make you better, or guarantee a well paying position. What does is the entrepreneurial spirit and self drive of the individual who wants to get ahead. There are probably well connected individuals out there as well who are total jerks, and who wants a jerk around even a well connected one?
  6. As it is getting closer to the November elections both McCain and Obama are both doing the normal negative adds about each other. We all know about Ralph Nader and his stands on quite a few matter, but very few people know about his Vice President running mate Matt Gonzalez. For those of us who want a change from a puppet or war mongeral there is a third choice. View the video at YouTube.

  8. I know a Lady that would love that one.
  9. Guest_human my prayers will be with you. Everyone should use their voice, and make their vote count. If the person you are voting for does not win the election, at least you had some say.
  10. I will try to look at it from both sides. A persons personal life is their business yes. When it comes to someone in political office to have an affair is dishonest to the person they are with as well as to the people they serve.
  11. Guest_Human, Maybe the question should be "What does that say for our Elected Officials"? More and more citizens are not registering to vote in any kind of elections. There are some that feel that they have no say in what is passed as laws, some just do not like who is running for office, some say what they think the people want to hear, then the saddest excuse of all they just do not want to take the time.
  12. Thank you Guest Human that was rather enjoyable. I may not have gotten the answer correct, but it did make me think, and do some research about the topic. Thank you Again. RavenM
  13. Dear Sir: When I made the comment that I did not like the posting, I did not mean to open up a can of worms .
  14. Dear Sir: No one should fear anyone. Everyone has the Freedom of speech. If what is being said about this Mr. Rees or anyone else they should fess up to it, not deny the fact of the matter. A quote from my Grandmother " The truth only hurts for a second, but lies go on for a lifetime."
  15. Because I did not like this article does not mean I am any kind of hater. IF there is an archives it would be interesting to read the past articles, and to learn more about DC and the people who work and live here. I have looked at Slick Willie's profile and I did not see any name there, besides his screen name.
  16. Hey , I am new to the message board here, and have not found any archives to access. Is there one, and how can I access it.
  17. For a man who is suppose to be for family values and is supporting a man who is already slinging his member around does not say much for you. For over half of the men in DC (sorry to those of us who are) who are gay, straight, and are unfaithful to their spouses or partner your time will come. May the divorce courts not be kind to you.
  18. Linda Chevez Chavez Withdraws As Labor Nominee By Ron Fournier AP Political Writer Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001; 5:23 p.m. EST WASHINGTON –– Linda Chavez withdrew Tuesday as President-elect Bush's nominee to be secretary of labor, saying that "search and destroy" politics had made her a distraction to the incoming administration over the haven she gave an illegal immigrant from Guatemala in the early 1990s. While Bush praised her and expressed disappointment, Republican officials close to Bush had prodded her to withdraw. Chavez appeared with other immigrants who said she had helped them as she did the Guatemalan, Marta Mercado, in 1991 and 1992, taking her into her home and giving her money but never, she said, as an employee. She said what happened to her nomination is typical of "the politics of personal destruction" in Washington. "I have decided that I am becoming a distraction, and therefore I have asked President Bush to withdraw my name for secretary of labor," she said. She said she thinks she would have been a great one. Bush, in a statement, called her "a good person with a great deal of compassion" and said he was disappointed she would not be in his Cabinet.
  19. I stand corrected. I did some more research and said something to my friend that he received it from a friend. Well he was wrong and so was I. Here is a link to check the matter out. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/afghanistan.asp
  20. Jesse Lee Since Guest _Human did not specify which "Chavez" he was talking about, and this is a political message board.
  21. How is this answer for you? The Democratic Party today named Venezuela Dictator an honorary member of the party and designated September 21 as "Hugo Chavez Day".
  22. This is an email sent to me by a friend, and I felt all should read it. To have our troops overseas to be disrespected like Obama did to them unheard of. Our troops serve our country and all should be respected no matter if you believe in what they are doing there or not. Subject: A friend who is serving in Afghanistan Hello everyone, As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers were lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheer leaders than from a Senator, who wants to be the President of the United States . I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-in-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country. If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake. In service, CPT Jeffrey S. 23. For a great city like DC it should be the the shining example of the United States. It is a shame that the citizens of DC should have to put up with such inconvenience and no protection from the ones who should protect.
  24. I just watch the video, and it looks really cool.
