John McCain's going to have to do something pretty incredible next week for me to be convinced that the Republican Party deserves another four years

For all of the Republicans out there what has your party really done for the people.

Besides high interest rates, housing cost that the average American not afford or buy a home, low wages high unemployment rates, outsourcing.

No control on the insurance companies where people are losing their coverage because of a sickness that could not be prevented, drug companies, and a FDA taking to long to approve medications that will work now for the people.

The time is now for a major change, and it is up to the people to make it. We have to look through all the bull out there to find the truth and go with out minds and heart to make the best decision we can.

Guest OBAMA HATER

Obama has no problem in getting home loans from criminals!!!

McCain was asked a simple question during an interview with Politico.com. Nothing tricky about it. No curveball this: How many houses do you and Mrs. McCain have?

"I think," said McCain, "uh, I'll have my staff get to you. I'll try to tell you about that."

Huh? Most Americans would certainly be able to answer that question, especially the ones facing foreclosure or mortgages that are ratcheting up.

McCain's staff did get back as promised, saying the number was "at least four." Again, few Americans are in the four-house category.

Even more embarrassing is that McCain and his wife, Cindy, own at least seven homes worth in the neighborhood of $13 million. Scattered across the country.

Many Americans are in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure, but John McCain has a different problem: Remembering how many houses he owns. I guess that's the new definition of filthy rich: Not knowing how many estates you own.

We have to keep in mind that McCain is older than dirt -- it shouldn't be surprising that he doesn't know how many homes he owns.

This story illustrates how out-of-touch McCain is with average Americans, he is incapable of feeling our pain.

I think it is wonderful that the pot smoking Miss Alaska beauty queen supports Obama's Energy Plan. Barack just won the election with that pick. ROFL :blink:

http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:wbCGT....ak.us/news.php

No. 08-135

August 4, 2008, Fairbanks, Alaska - Governor Sarah Palin today responded to the energy plan put forward by the presumptive Democratic nominee for President, Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

"I am pleased to see Senator Obama acknowledge the huge potential Alaska's natural gas reserves represent in terms of clean energy and sound jobs," Governor Palin said. "The steps taken by the Alaska State Legislature this past week demonstrate that we are ready, willing and able to supply the energy our nation needs."

In a speech given in Lansing, Michigan, Senator Obama called for the completion of the Alaska natural gas pipeline, stating, "Over the next five years, we should also lease more of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska for oil and gas production. And we should also tap more of our substantial natural gas reserves and work with the Canadian government to finally build the Alaska natural gas pipeline, delivering clean natural gas and creating good jobs in the process."

Governor Palin also acknowledged the Senator's proposal to offer $1,000 rebates to those struggling with the high cost of energy.

"We in Alaska feel that crunch and are taking steps to address it right here at home," Governor Palin said. "This is a tool that must be on the table to buy us time until our long-term energy plans can be put into place. We have already enjoyed the support of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, and it is gratifying to see Senator Obama get on board."

The Governor did question the means to pay for Obama's proposed rebate a windfall profits tax on oil companies. In Alaska, the state's resource valuation system, ACES, provides strong incentives for companies to re-invest their profits in new production.

"Windfall profits taxes alone prevent additional investment in domestic production. Without new supplies from American reserves, our dependency and addiction to foreign sources of oil will continue," Governor Palin said.

John McCain is an old fart. I am damn angry that he picked her. The stress of office could kill him before his term is over. I am just not going to vote. I do not want a colored man in office. He will be killed by someone from Mississippi or Alabama. Romney should have been selected.

BlingBling since YOU ARE an Obama supporter it shows an indication of discriminatory behavior towards women.

The big question is? Will Women support such behavior at the ballot box?

John Mc Cain maybe an older gentleman, but from your writings you don't sound to be much younger then he is. Senator Mc Cain is from the old stock of Americans who know how to do a job and get it done. I really don't think the stress of Presidency will effect him in the least.

Governor Palin from what I have read to date sounds like she will be a good Vice President, and is not of the "good ole boy" network.

This is the 21st century and anyone can be President. The only thing that is getting to me is that some people are voting for this or that person because of race or gender.

How about voting for a person for what they will do for the country, and the American people. And not because they are this or that color, or this or that gender, or has a good personia. I want someone in office that will lower my taxes, give the jobs back to the American people, find alternate energy, get raid of the pork belly, downsize the government, and give the American people a fighting chance to be able to support their families wihout worries on where the next pay check is coming from.

"'don't want a colored man in office"?

Methinks that smacks of racism but I'm uncertain of your point.

Has anyone any idea what a black man in office would do to the world of comedy??

The mind boggles.

Alaskan beauty queen? How come Obama couldn't get her to switch sides and be his running mate??

A black man and a beauty queen ... if I may borrow a line from The Jam "That's Entertainment".

Still, I can't help but wonder what a woman on the ticket is going to do for McCain: turn voters away because of her gender, or lure them in because of said gender ... probably a break-even proposal I suppose ...

My point being it that there are people voting for Obama because he is an African American. On the same point they will not vote for him because of it as well. Then the other point is that there are some who will not vote for Palin because she is a woman, and will because she is one. Then there is Mc Cain and his age, but has served his country well. Biden is one of the good ole boys, and has lost every time he has ran for President.

Our jobs as voters is to decipher through all the hype and pick a canadate that will serve ALL the people, and not special interest, lobbiest, or anyone that will contribute the most to their pockets. It is time in my opinion that one person one vote becomes the norm, and then maybe the people will get more involved with what is taking place in out Country. For is it was one person one vote then Jesse Jackson would of been our First African American President.

This Entire Race so far has BEEN about gender, "BlingBling; pot smoking Miss Alaska beauty queen " among other names. Geraldine Ferraro ouster out of the democrat party position.

Hillary having to fight to get to speak at the democrat convention.

It's been from the Obama Camp a constant fight for women to be down graded in this election.

It's been a very nasty race. <Minus the issues, it's been Rockets bursting in air over the view of women>.

And it's coming from the democrat camp.

With McCain everyone already knows. He WILL work across the aisle With the Democrats and Republicans in a truly bi-partisan manner. <~~~~~~~~ his record has already shown that.

To be blunt; What Governor Sarah Palin really will do is to help McCain Clean up the Congress, and the Senate "though both houses are not really going to be enjoying it", and she will learn about foreign affairs real fast.

With Barack Obama considering that he is a Virgin when it comes to National, as well as International Experience there really is nothing more to type on him. He owes everyone. Barack is more tied in with special interest groups than any other candidate "Past, and Present".

<Ya know it’s funny, with Barack it WILL be politics as usual, and with McCain we will have to work with each other "He won’t leave us any other choice". McCain didn't get the title of Maverick for kicks.

Oh!! and wait till you see the next link of the month, it will be highly informative for all of you. For me? Not really. All I want to do now is just stay where I am in my political world, and survive this town.

What the Heck!!! no games. Hey!!!! at least by the time I leave for my own political world? All of you will be better informed “I hope".

Even to the ones who dislike me on this message board. I hope you come out a little bit better informed "Maybe not wiser, but there is that hope thingy left, ya know"?>

Human,

I do not know about anyone else on this board, but I like that fact that you say what is on your mind as well as keep most of us thinking. With me you have shown no only to read the major papers, but to read what the other less know papers are saying as well about what is going on.

Games? I like the one about Chavez it really had me searching to find the answer, thanks.

As far as "your own political world", that can be taken two ways. 1. More power to you. 2. I hope a long time in coming.

I hope everyone here realizes which candidate will increase our national debt.

Obama would give larger tax cuts to low- and moderate-income households and pay some of the cost by raising taxes on high-income taxpayers. In contrast, McCain would cut taxes across the board and give the biggest cuts to the highest-income households.

Obama would raise revenues by about $600 billion over the decade, while McCain would lose $600 billion. But choice of baseline doesn’t change how the proposals would affect the budget picture; without substantial cuts in government spending, both plans would sharply increase the national debt. Including interest costs, Obama’s tax plan would boost the debt by $3.5 trillion by 2018. McCain’s plan would increase the debt by $5 trillion.

McCain would lift after-tax incomes an average of about 3 percent, or $1,400 annually, for middle-income taxpayers by 2012. But, in sharp contrast to Obama, he would cut taxes for those in the top 1% by more than $125,000, raising their after-tax income an average 9.5 percent.

Law It means this?

For right now, I already know who barrack obama has chosen for international affairs.

Which means to me “The status quote”. In other words the U.S. foreign policy that bush has taken, obama has adopted as well.

If the democrats were really about change? They would have chosen some one else.

With McCain, I still don’t know whom he has chosen or will choose. Which means that I’m either losing my touch, or he is still thinking about it?

Guest McCain-Palin 2008

The global war on terrorism, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, threats from rogue states like Iran and North Korea, and the rise of potential strategic competitors like China and Russia mean that America requires a larger and more capable military to protect our country's vital interests and deter challenges to our security.

As President, John McCain will strengthen the military, shore up our alliances, and ensure that the nation is capable of protecting the homeland, deterring potential military challenges, responding to any crisis that endangers American security, and prevailing in any conflict we are forced to fight.

For too long, we have asked too much of too few - with the result that many service personnel are on their second, third and even fourth tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq.

John McCain believes that the answer to these challenges is not to roll back our overseas commitments. The size and composition of our armed forces must be matched to our nation's defense requirements. As requirements expand in the global war on terrorism so must our Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard be reconfigured to meet these new challenges. John McCain thinks it is especially important to increase the size of the Army and Marine Corps to defend against the threats we face today.

Military service is perhaps the most powerful theme of John McCain's presidential campaign. The only way John McCain can expand our forces is to reinstate the DRAFT!!!

Many of you might be too young to understand the Vietnam Lotteries and the Draft. The first lottery drawing since 1942 was held on December 1, 1969, at Selective Service National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. This event determined the order of call for military induction during calendar year 1970, that is, for registrants born between January 1, 1944, and December 31, 1950. Reinstitution of the lottery was a change from the "draft the oldest man first" method, which had been the determining method for deciding order of call. The last lottery drawing held February 2, 1972, determined the order in which men born in 1953 were called to report for induction into the military.

A draft is largely a last resort enacted only when the country's demand for military power is larger than the pool of eligible volunteer recruits. Recruitment funding has increased 50 percent since 2001, but enlistment numbers are declining sharply. This begs the question of where John McCain is going to get his bigger army. Here might be glimpse of what is to come...

In Las Crucas, New Mexico, a woman asked McCain about the "horrible conditions" that veterans often see when return from combat. Here's the last few sentences:

My son is an officer in the Air Force, I'm a vet., and I was raised in a military family. And I think it's a sorry state of affairs. When we have illegal aliens; having a medic-aid card that can access specialists, top physicians, the best of medical, and our vets can't even get to a doctor. And these are the people that we tied yellow ribbons for and Bush patted on the back. If we don't re-enact the draft, I don't think we'll have anyone to chase Bin Laden to the gates of Hell.

What was the Senator's response.

SEN JOHN MCCAIN: Ma'am let me say that I don't disagree with anything you have said, and thank you.

I would like know where John McCain plans to pay for an expanded military when our country is almost bankrupt. The Senator admitted he has no idea about the economy. Is he going to let his lobbyist advisor run the country to ground? Fiscal Republicans are starting to lean toward the Libertarian Party.

Even Karl Rove had to admit yesterday that the McCain campaign's lies and negative attacks have gone "too far."

John McCain is running the most negative and dishonest campaign in modern presidential history. He has demonstrated that he'd rather lose his integrity than lose this election.

It's right out of the Bush-Rove playbook. Unfortunately, as Karl Rove knows better than anyone, these shameful tactics have worked in the past.

The culture of corruption and dishonesty that has hurt America so badly the last eight years is playing an even larger role in McCain's campaign.

Just this past week, John McCain hired a Washington super-lobbyist to fill positions in a potential McCain-Palin White House. At least 177 lobbyists have been on McCain's campaign staff, and apparently he hopes to run the White House the same way.

Also this week, the McCain campaign continued to repeat a number of outrageous lies, even after watchdogs in the media called them "shamelessly misleading," "thoroughly dishonest," and "a toxic mix of lies and double-speak."

They also lied about the crowd size at one of their rallies -- reporting 23,000 attendees when there were only 8,000.

McCain's campaign -- run on lobbyists and lies -- is no match for this unprecedented grassroots movement. More than 2,500,000 people have stepped up to own a piece of this campaign.

But if we want change, we must continue to grow this movement and put an end to these dishonorable political tactics. And we have just 50 days left to do it.

Everyone is in a special interest group "Haven't you figured that out yet'?

McCain aint Bush. You can keep on typing it to your hearts content, but it still aint going to change the facts.

And remember folks; We still have to work with each other after these elections "No matter who wins".

So if you want to portray one of my groups moderate as a far right winger? You are making a Gigantic Mistake.

In the way that these elections are being run? The mentality is NOT going to leave ANY ROOM for Moderates "Only the Extremes".

I agree with Luke, There are to many people who get dissatisfied with the elections because of the back stabbing and lies be told about the other candidates. Then by the time the elections do come around every one is a little confused on who said what that there may be votes cast for the wrong person who really can make a change.

I really think the hate has to end. Their needs to be some type of election ethics rules put into place by each state that has to be signed by each candidate before their name appears on the ballot.
