I VOTED FOR THERESA CONROY…..WHY
NelsonJacobsen replied to Psycho's topic in District of Columbia Politics
What I did was prove that the IP address was pointing to PH's exchange server that serveral messages were posted to a yahoo group, I do not remeber which one or even the message. As for proving who done it __ You have to have the nat log from their proxy server to see whom was using that address at the time the messages went out of exhange. Nelson -

In the Distict we have a Condo Act that guides how these housing unit, which are also a corporation, are managed by their Board of Directors "BOD" and how the BOD inturn should act. This is a nut shell view. So what does this have to do with a Homeowner Associations "HOA"? In the District the single family and townhouse developments that are built out as a HOA which are the majority of new development In this region 80 percenet of new homes are in a CIC- see below. Yet we do not have an HOA Act. So what does that mean. No disclosure of the fact that you are buying into a corporate housing structure No rules that govern how the BOD manages the community property, books and funds. Let alone your community manager. No way to make individuals pay their associations dues, which could lead to a bankrupt communiy. No language about setting up a reserve fund to pay for common area elements replacement, roof, pools, roads. The District get to treat all lots, including green space, as separate taxable items instead of nontaxed common area elements like MD & VA. So as you lookout at all the new single family homes in SE, townhouses everywhere what you are not seeing like a duck on water is the feet below paddling like crazy. Say you parking lot property tax bill came in from the Distict Tax office and it is pretty high since common areas elements are seen the same as front foot properties i.e. your house. Add this bill to the assessments which pay for insurance, management fees, street lights, snowplowing, recycling, and trash removal. Well as it turns out since there is no law on the books about paying HOA fees, people are not paying them. So the items that the assesments are to cover let alone a tax bill are not being paid. So the questions should be what happens next. The District will take you parking lot and can sell it during a tax sale. So now you don't own the parking lot, pool, etc. Try selling your home to someone and then tell them they have no place to park. Your mortgage company is going to love that too. What else? Well your HOA corporation could go into bankruptcy and you could be forced out of your home to which you still have a mortgage. Think I am kidding. We have to get our officals to stop playing and take the language from the Uniform HOA Act that both MD and VA have used and put this law on the books. FYI Condominiums, Cooperatives, Single Family and Townhouse Developments are all subsets part of Common Interest Community's "CIC". State of Communities

TEAM REES TO DISTRIBUTE CROPP FOR MAYOR LITERATURE
NelsonJacobsen replied to Psycho's topic in District of Columbia Politics
Mr. Rees did talk to Linda and made the offer to distribute information. He came the office, which anyone can do, where I came out of a meeting to hear the offer, and passed it along to my boss who said no. Phyllis was made aware of the decsion and probably looked at my boss and said Isn't that what we pay Nelson for in Ward 3. As for signs he has been given them twice --a total of nine to place in supporters yard that also support Linda. Linda does not support any candidate other than herself. That said she does love supporters. Which is now we roll @ Cropp for Mayor. Hope this clears up the issue. Nelson Jacobsen, njacobsen@lindacroppformayor.com -

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." -- Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Americans of all ilk should be concerned about the ability to tamper with voting seeing how no party can stay in the office for ever. The fact that every four years our country has been able to have an election, save 2000, which overturns a sitting government is the one of the hallmarks of our great country. This is not an issue of us vs. them voting is the foundation of our Republic.

I got the same notice.............................................Google’s Adwords - Advertising Practices Advertisers pay billions of dollars per year to place their ads on Google’s mega network, Adwords, and this online advertising makes up 99% of Google’s $6 billion dollar annual revenue. Lately, advertisers are paying more money on Adwords but noticing less return on their advertising dollars. Advertisers complain about click fraud, Google artificially inflating bid prices, and other allegedly fraudulent advertising practices to cheat small and large businesses. Click Fraud is the fraudulent practice of intentionally increasing advertiser fees by manually or electronically clicking on advertiser’s links. One recent lawsuit against Google was settled for $90 million as advertisers complained that Google’s system was susceptible to Click Fraud costing advertisers millions of dollars. Google has also been accused of artificially inflating bid prices by participating in the bid process and by not displaying sponsored ads thus causing advertisers to bid higher and pay more. Other advertisers have complained that Google approves keyword phrases and ads but does not display these ads for all searches. Advertisers feel they are being cheated from traffic and visibility on Google’s large network. QUESTION FOR NELSON JACOBSEN
NelsonJacobsen replied to scooper's topic in District of Columbia Politics
Dear SCOOPER, I am not a resident of Glover Park, I have not ever been the moderator of the Glover Park. As to the Spring Valley list I started it because there was not one there for it. As to your friends they need to put down the French cigarettes and ask the moderator of the Glover Park list who started it. Since I have only said I have noting to do with it three times and you are unable to comprehend that message I do not know else I could do. As to your proof, that was about a home improvement contractor that is spamming the lists I moderate see the message below. As to your friends being bounced off perhaps you could give me their names and I will post here when and why I have removed very few people, If I really did. As for "SCOOPER" or what ever you are hinding behind these days, You have removed yourself from several of the list I moderate and not me removing you; Which many people have asked me to do. So your "Friends" which you claim I have removed leaves only one person I know on the Spring Valley list that would be interested in posting the message you have. Now that said I am not running for public office, nor am I a public figure, so you are better off steering clear of trying to bring my name up which you have done-- not the other way around. I none the less find you amusing, factually challenged, but a total hoot to read. Keep up the what ever it is your are doing. I have been showing people all over the country these threads and might even put up a website. Now focus on people that are actually running for office and not get sidelined with the spectors. Hey Joe saw your post and just wanted to let you know that many of our fathers are always yelling. The world that most of our fathers grew up in is now so different and prehaps he like many others is reacting to this change with the anger that you see. You should not get angry yourself and remember to tell your father that you love him he needs that reminder from time to time, as we all do. You seem to have a very positive outlook and keep that is what you should be striving to do for yourself. Enjoyed reading your posts keep'em up................................Let go nats

Has your web site lost its Google pagerank?
NelsonJacobsen replied to jennamack72's topic in Science and Technology
I have wonder for quite a while how long it would take the general public to notice this problem. As I run a number of local websites (i.e. AdamsMorgan.net) I have had ups and down on google and other search sites. This really came to bear at the start of the adsence campaign. Prior to adsence my site was #1 then it went to being not found and back to #1 of late. I recently have added google ads to the site and find it funny that not once has a related local ad show up in their area. However in other sites of mine around the area I see only local ads. Retail areas and portal are the same thing for the most part. Businesses flock to an area based upon location, location location as should those business online as well. I tried many models with my dot.nets from having the local business pay to be on a site to just putting their info online, which is what we still do. Back in 97 when I put up RockvillePike.net and paid to be on the radio promoting it and in print as well. What I found when I walked the pike, which I did from Strathmore to middle lane, was that most businesses really did not have a clue about websites let alone being found by someone and that is still the case. The reason I put up the dot net was that after building a site and not being able to tell the owner that it would be found on hotbot or lycos we could at least say it was on a portal and their were far fewer site back then and none of this keyword stuff, which I remember as well when you could own the key word which is the same case with AOL. If you have the screen name you pretty much have the keyword. In the end sites that are crossed referenced will have the greatest relevance to the end users as well to spiders that are looking for said information; That is saying that the site actually has some information that is usefull. Infact while I will list a business I will not link to it unless they relink back to us and that is the main critera used if you see a link on one of the dot nets. -
* The next meeting of the Ward 3 Democrats will be a Candidate Forum featuring city-wide Candidates (Council Chair and At-large Councilmember). Because our regular meeting day is the same as the Council’s legislative session, we will move the meeting to Wednesday April 19th –but the venue and date are still to be confirmed.)

Where to start? Well how about the fact that Ward 3 Residents bare the loins share of taxes paid into the District's coffers by non businesses is the economic fact of who pays the bills in the District. Yet we have some of the most run down falicities or lack there of in the District. Are we asking for more services, nope we just want a fire station and perhaps schools to be upgraded sometime within the next 5 years. As to what other Wards think of this Ward. Having worked in the South East part of the District from over 10 years I can state that most of the people that I have met are more concerned about their own problems and are not concerned with whether Ward 3 residents are snobs. They would like to just have the District to respond when called and that has nothing to do with our Ward. At the meeting I have attended over the decade our Ward is used as an example of how orginize and get what residents want do. From our friend's groups involved in the parks to phone trees, and now listsevers that orgainzie by area the residents. Prehaps a someone running to represent our Ward should concern themselves with what votes in this Ward think needs to be done here and let those running for Districtwide office deal with such issues. Here is a hint ! the recent Tax assessment that have comeout have just about everyone up in arms and guess what Ward is bearing the burnt? My final point is that Washington is not a City, it is a District and those running for office should at least know the difference as it is a big one.
