Let's see now, I have been accused so far of: 1) killing a former wife; 2) having children in numerous countries I have not admitted to; 3) being judicially determined as mentally ill and dangerous; 4) one of the people involved in some big Brink's job but never caught; 5) having a multiple personality disorder where I am my wife, me, and my children, which Prozac has not cured; 6) that a DC Superior Court judge committed me to St. Elizabeth Hospital but they refused to accept me out of fear that I would upset the other patients; 7) having broken into the DC Board of Elections and Ethics offices and stolen the voter registration rolls; 8) working for the Bush Administration to help spy on people; 9) a convicted pedophile; 10) and a lot more. If anybody out there has some money to spare, would they be so kind as to go out and buy me a couple of tee-shirts with a bull's-eye on it, as that is surely something we politicians now a days need to wear. Indeed politics today in DC is not boring at all. Try it; you'll learn things about your past nobody else seems to know, not even the CIA.

Just as a point of reference: Jonathan Rees is the one who's running for office, not Martin Austermuhle. So far there's considerable proof that -- * Rees impersonated a DC Police Officer * Rees lied about where he went to school * Rees has spammed numerous forums, including Craig's List with vile, vulgar messages * Rees lied about who he was married to * Rees lied about his employment history * Rees lied about who his campaign manager is * Rees has tried to deny that he's the Jonathan Rees who sent a vulgar email to every judge on the DC Superior Court during his divorce: http://mishpat.net/cyberlaw/archive/update15.shtml (scroll down for the part about Jonathan Rees) and more... While I don't want to draw attention away from the very important issue of Jonathan Rees having impersonated an MPD Officer, Jose Magana, I thought that it would be worthwhile to point out that Rees has been posting fabrications again on the Internet. As Mr. Tozzi said in another thread, Rees' inability to prove these kind of assertions zeros out his credibility. This is a post that Jonathan Rees made on his own YahooGroup, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jonathan_rees. (The group has only three members so to date. You don't need to join to view the messages ) The YahooGroup is basically a one-way message board for Jonathan Rees to post his thoughts. In this particular message, Rees says that he has been accused of "killing a former wife," being "one of the people involved in some big Brink's job but never caught," and more. The problem is that there's no evidence that Rees has been accused of any of these things online. (It is true, however, that Rees has done other strange things, many of which have been documented or discussed here.) It's important to note that Tammy Bresloff is Jonathan Rees, as the IP addresses posted elsewhere on DC Pages prove. One of Jonathan Rees' strangest --and most despicable-- behaviors is to viciously attack anyone who reports truthfully about him. I can't help but wonder: Did Jonathan Rees make this post about Martin because Rees is now worried about the consequences of his impersonating DC Police Officer Jose Magana? Is Rees trying to deflect attention away from himself?

Two questions: 1) This is in English. Where's the Spanish version? 2) Why does this "campaign flyer" have a personal AOL address in the From line but an DC MPD address at the bottom? There's a lot that doesn't square.

It certainly doesn't help support the case that Officer Magana has made these posts by having a non-functioning URL for his supposed Yahoo profile: http://profiles.yahoo.com/dc_magana I've asked twice already to have the correct URL posted. Verizon, WASA and PEPCO do not provide their records to candidates for City Council. One has to wonder how Mr. Rees obtained those records in order to "prove" that certain people are not residents of Ward 3.

Well, despite DCist's effort to ban Jonathan Rees, he is still able to post there. But the proof of the lie is that Rees posted quite a bit on DC Pages yesterday, when he was supposed to have been behind bars in Baltimore. Rees has a vague employment history and even vaguer educational background. Then the conclusion is that Jonathan Rees is unemployed -- you've just confirmed that. (Really, where a candidate for elected office works and has worked shouldn't be a secret and shouldn't be contingent on what any other candidate does.)

Truthseeker is absolutely correct: The person who's running for office is the person in the spotlight. With that in mind, there are several things I've been unable to verify as I try to check the facts. 1. Where does Jonathan Rees work? I've read some vague references to the medical/dental community, but I haven't seen a name of a company with an address and telephone number. 2. Where was Rees employed before his current job? Again, the name of a specific company would be appreciated. 3. Is Rees married or not? How many times has Rees been married? I've read references to two divorces -- one here and in another country. 4. Can we see Rees' resume, listing his education and job history? Again, I've seen mentions that it would be posted on his website or sent to people who ask. But without that, Rees' life seems to be one giant black hole. 5. Has Rees ever been ordered by the court to undergo a psychiatric examination? I've read that was the case and would like some follow up information. I would like SPECIFIC answers. Not evasions.

Not wanted anywhere in cyberspace -- except perhaps here on DC Pages, where his aliases roam free. While doing a little research on Rees and his antics online (and the valiant efforts to ban him), I came across this little gem which explains why forums across the globe (and Rees has been posting around the world!) have worked hard to thwart him. I erred: Rees has posted again on Craig's List: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/kid/123309204.html His message was about domestic violence and was posted in the Childcare Forum (which is a weird place to put that kind of message -- it feels icky.) It's shameful that Jonathan Rees continues to try and post messages on places like Craig's List and DCist even though he's been officially banned. That's certainly unethical, and probably illegal. But does Rees care? At the very least, a candidate for office should respect the wishes of the people who own these forums. In any case, I'm sure that Rees' post on Craig's List, which starts, "HAVE YOU BEEN THE VICTIM OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?" will be gone by the end of the day.

Yes, that appears to be true: Virtually evey other bulletin board and forum has successfully prevented Rees and his aliases from posting. You don't see his messages anymore on Craig's List, any of the Yahoo Groups he used to post on, DCist, or the numerous DC-area blogs that allow freelance comments. I'm sure it was very difficult to accomplish this and would guess that there will be Rees sightings in these places every now and then. But for the most part, Rees has vanished from all other forums.
