Uh huh. Right. Like anyone buys that. As I said, let's hear from Jonathan Rees himself. All of these questions remain unanswered. Saying, "where Rees works is well known to many in the press" is the same as saying, "Rees can't say where he's worked because he doesn't want anyone to know." I know that your description of what Rees sent to every judge on the DC Superior Court is simply and totally false. The American Lawyer article, which has some more details about this very odd thing that Rees did, has already been posted on DC Pages and elsewhere. Did you forget? Or where you hoping that everyone else would forget about that? Anyway, the challenge remains: Jonathan Rees, under your own name -- answer these very basic questions about your background.

There are a lot of unanswered questions about Jonathan Rees. I'm starting this thread in the hope that Rees himself will answer the questions posted here, especially since his website is devoid of specifics about his background. 1. Where did Rees go to school? 2. Were does Jonathan Rees work? Where did he accomplish what he claims on his website: "Rees has over twenty (20) years experience in upper business management and government affairs." 3. Why did Rees send a vulgar email to every judge on the DC Superior Court? What did that email say? (See http://mishpat.net/cyberlaw/archive/update15.shtml ) 4. Why were Rees' two YahooGroups, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jonathan_rees and http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dcward3 deleted? This is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg. There are a lot more unanswered questions about Rees.

And then there's the cover up: As soon as somebody mentions a specific incriminating message, Rees deletes it. Or tries. He can't delete them all, because it appears that he sometimes forgets the password associated with a particular account. On the one hand, Rees crows about being married to Mindy Silverman, but on the other hand there are many messages posted by Jonathan Rees in which he claims to be single. Where is Mindy? We used to see posts by her, but no more. As Rees' campaign manager, you'd think she'd have something to say about her husband-candidate. Of course, there are many unanswered questions about Jonathan Rees. Where exactly does he work? Where did Rees go to school? Why did Rees send a vulgar email to every judge on the DC Superior Court ( http://mishpat.net/cyberlaw/archive/update15.shtml )? On his website Rees claims to "Rees has over twenty (20) years experience in upper business management and government affairs." Really? Then prove it. And why is Rees now using only aliases to post on DC Pages (and on Craig's List, too.) Why won't Jonathan Rees answer these questions under his own name? The bottom line, pardon the cliche, is that Rees simply lies about virtually everything.

Any observer will notice that these posts and now an entire group have disappeared soon after the sites were mentioned here. Unfortunately for Jonathan Rees -- 1. The pages have already been saved 2. He can't delete all his sex advertisements and other strange posts 3. Deleting messages right after they've been mentioned here is what's know in the general language of politics as a "cover up." When it was pointed out on DC Pages that Rees said that he has three children here on DC Pages, but said that he has two children on his own website, Rees promptly deleted his biography from his website. Rees wrote on his website, I am married to the former Mindy Lynn Silverman (actress) and I have two children; daughter Anita 30 and son Jason 25. Rees also included his employment history (which remains mysteriously vague in his other messages): I am currently employed by: * Institutional Dental Care, Inc. of Washington, D.C. as its Business Manager. IDC is a dental service that provides dental care throughout DE, DC, MD, NJ, VA and other locations at assisted living and nursing home facilities to senior citizens. * Prince George's County Hospital as its Dental Clinic Administrator. * Los Gellegos Food Corporation San Juan, Puerto Rico as a member of the Board of Directors. I have a copy of the original webpage that Rees deleted. I'm not sure if I can post a copy of that page here, but I can make it available to any real person who wants it.

This statement about Rees' children is false. But, "Perry Mason," answer this: If you claim that Rees married "Mindy Lynn Silverman" in 2004, who is the mother of these three children?

Well, it looks like Rees has indeed deleted that post he made on Google Groups. No matter -- enough people saw it before he deleted it. And besides, the truth will prevail. While the deleted posts are still missing on Jonathan Rees' Yahoo Group, this statement in a recent message that Jonathan Rees posted piqued my curiosity: Without naming names, my background is in management and marketing and the strategy I am using in my campaign is the same one I used in helping both a New York City council member get elected with 38% of the votes in a field of six candidates and a candidate in Orange County, California with 41% of the votes in a field of four candidates. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Jonathan_Rees/message/15 Why can't Rees be specific? How are we supposed to believe his statement that he helped a New York City and an Orange County, California councilmembers get elected if we can't check that? bfrank, Truthseeker, Factchecker2 (me), Golden Girl, DCist Martin cite specifics when posting here, but Rees conveniently avoids including facts.

I find it odd that virtually all of Jonathan Rees' activity is here and not on his own YahooGroup. That fact coupled with the fact that Rees has deleted 5 of the 10 posts he's made on his own YahooGroup, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jonathan_rees, is strange. Just an observation.

As for missing message #10, which I saved before Jonathan Rees deleted it -- that's a very strange message, and raises questions that Rees continues to duck: Why did Jonathan Rees change his name from Giovanni Luchese to Jonathan Rees? Why does he refuse to answer that question? I believe that the answer is: Rees never was named Giovanni Luchese, and that's why he deleted that message. But too late: the message has been saved and posted here. All of this goes to show that Jonathan Rees is the James Frye of local Washington politics.

Those of us who can read English can see that Sam Brooks has biographical information on his website --where he went to school, where he's worked, and more-- but Rees' bio is virtually empty. Why won't Jonathan Rees share his biographical information? Is there a big secret to where he went to school and where Rees has been employed?

My question was: Why has Jonathan Rees deleted half of the messages he's posted on his own YahooGroup? Why did Rees delete the message about his changing his name? People do change their names. Why did Jonathan Rees change his from Giovanni Luchese to Jonathan Rees?

And the answer just dawned on me: In this post we have Jonathan Rees on record saying that he changed his name when immigrating to the United States. That's why Rees deleted the post from his own YahooGroup -- to get rid of the quotation, the fabrication. Too late, though.

Sam Brooks has his bio on his campaign's website, www.brooks2006.com. I don't know who the other declared candidates are, but I bet that they either do or will have their biographical material posted on their campaign websites. But www.rees-for-citycouncil.com is a big zero. The only thing we know for sure about Rees is that he likes a band called "Collective Soul," which is featured on his website.

This email is a forgery by Jonathan Rees. For one thing, Austermuhle is spelled incorrectly in the FROM line. (That alone is proof that Rees just typed the email himself.) But if somebody wants to show that an email is genuine, they need to include the complete headers (under "reveal headers," "options," "view headers," or something similar, depending on the email program) which would include the routing information.

Why hasn't Rees included biographical information on his website, rees-for-citycouncil.com? There's no mention on his website of Rees having immigrated to the United States, of being born in Italy, or anything like that. What is your relationship to Jonathan Rees? You do seem to know an awful lot about Jonathan Rees.

The only change that I see on any other messages boards is that Jonathan Rees and his aliases are now banned on virtually all YahooGroups in Ward3: Palisades and Ward3dc are the latestet additions to that list.
