Montgomery County’s Health and Human Services currently has intranasal H1N1 vaccine (nasal spray) only. They have NO injectable H1N1 flu vaccine (shots) at this time. Those in target groups who CANNOT receive nasal spray should continue checking this site for information on clinics for injectable vaccine. Food and Drug Administration and Federal Trade Commission Warn Public of Fraudulent 2009 H1N1 Influenza Products Offending web sites and illegal activity targeted for action The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission are alerting the public to be wary of Internet sites and other promotions for products that claim to diagnose, prevent, mitigate, treat or cure the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus. The agencies are also advising operators of offending web sites that they must take prompt action to correct and/or remove promotions of these fraudulent products or face enforcement action. “Consumers who purchase products to treat the novel 2009 H1N1 virus that are not approved, cleared or authorized by the FDA for the treatment or prevention of influenza risk their health and the health of their families,” said Michael Chappell, acting FDA Associate Commissioner for Regulatory Affairs. “In conjunction with the Federal Trade Commission, the FDA has developed an aggressive strategy to identify, investigate, and take regulatory or criminal action against individuals or businesses that wrongfully promote purported 2009 H1N1 influenza products in an attempt to take advantage of the current flu public health emergency.” Products that are offered for sale to the public with claims to diagnose, prevent, mitigate, treat, or cure infections caused by the H1N1 influenza virus that have not been proven to be safe and effective for these uses must be carefully evaluated. Many of these deceptive products are being sold over the Internet via illegitimate web sites. The operators of these web sites take advantage of the public’s concerns about H1N1 influenza and their desire to protect themselves and their families. These fraudulent products come in all varieties and could include dietary supplements or other food products, or products purporting to be drugs, devices or vaccines. Such fraudulent products will not prevent the transmission of the virus or offer effective treatments against infections caused by the H1N1 influenza virus. “The last thing any consumer needs right now is to be conned by someone selling fraudulent flu remedies,” said FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz. “The FTC will act swiftly against companies that resort to deceptive advertising.” Consumers are urged to contact their health care providers or legitimate medical supply services if they have questions or concerns about medical products or personal protective equipment. FDA, FTC Warn Public of Fraudulent 2009 H1N1 Influenza Products Page 2 of 2 Consumers are also urged to visit the FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention web sites for more information about this emergency, and to determine which products the FDA has approved, cleared or authorized for use to diagnose, treat, prevent, mitigate or cure infections caused by H1N1 influenza virus. Consumers should also visit FDA's web site for tips about how to protect themselves when buying medicines online: http://www.fda.gov/buyonlineguide/ The two antiviral drugs approved by the FDA for treatment and prophylaxis of the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus are Tamiflu (oseltamivir phosphate) and Relenza (zanamivir). Tamiflu and Relenza, in addition to their approved labeling, have Emergency Use Authorizations that describe specific authorized uses during this public health emergency. For more information about FDA-approved antiviral drugs for influenza, see http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/antivirals/influenza/default.htm. For more information about personal protective equipment see http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/ppe/. At present, there are no licensed vaccines approved for this new H1N1 influenza virus. Consumers are urged to report any suspected fraudulent products or criminal activity relating to FDA regulated products associated with H1N1 Flu Virus (Swine Flu), including the names of web sites that may be offering these products for sale, to the FDA by visiting: http://www.fda.gov/oci/flucontact.html More Facts, Figures, and How-To Ideas CDC and its partner agencies and organizations offer a great deal of information about hand washing and other things you can do to stay healthy and avoid the germs that cause flu, the common cold, and other illnesses. U.S. Influenza and Pneumonia-Associated Hospitalizations and Deaths from August 30 – October 10, 2009 Hospitalizations 15,696 Deaths 2,029 I wonder how many more will die. -
Senator Max Baucus Be a good Citizen of our Country. Do the right thing and give back the money. Break the chain of special interest. Give back the the $1.5 million for your campaign. You concience is worth far more than that.

Medicare for the poor, a health-care safety net for all people with an annual income below $14,404. I personally like the idea.

I am afraid of this Health Care bill. I consider myself an independant thinker. I believe in God. I honor my family and friends. I love being a citizen of this country. I am a patron of Liberty. My faith is Catholic. Freedom of choice is my belief. I was taught that God gives us free choice. I was taught that the Lord died for our mistakes. Health care is a mistake of humanity vs. community. We the Individual vs. We the People. The Government is tipping the scales of ethics and justice to take money from our pockets. I see the way the District and Maryland Governments are treating the disabled and ederly. If you are alone and walking the streets, because someone shipped you accross the state district line. Brother you are out of luck. The District of Columbia is not going to help you. But, they make sure to rob you. Joe is a disabled friend of mine and many others. Recently Joe's parents died. Montgomery County was going to let him slip through the cracks and place him in a shelter. They told me after a few months he may possibly be put in a group home. He would have a social worker that would check up on him every month or two. I told Joe his would be living in my home. I am now Joe's Guardian. His health and welfare is my responsibility. I am also fighting for Joe's rights to get his medication. His medicare and medicaid has been taken from him. Joe can no longer get medicine. I was advised that the District of Columbia Disability Services would take care of him. What a joke. This process has taken five months and nothing has been done. The District of Columbia Disability services has every record of Joe. They tell me that they have to review whether he is disabled. I personally do understand how they can live with themselves. They obviously do. Maybe they just wander the halls talking ideals that they are helping people. But, the times are changing. I am keeping track of them. So, at this moment I love the idea of Public Healthcare. But, even Obama admitted that it cannot be changed in a day. This has become a battle of lobby groups missusing the Power of the People. I am still waiting to see tranparency of what went wrong. Until I do see it. This will be like Logan's Run. Watch the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WUUnc1M0TA

Politics may prove Albert Einstein's bending of light. In this case light is truth. I can see Far Right Congressman Ron Paul bumping into Congressman Dennis Kucinich and realizing both want similar things. Both despise the Federal Reserve Then again Ron Paul does not think Healthcare is a civil right. Dennis Kucinich does think Healthcare is a civil right. Here is an interesting video where Ron Paul talks about Dennis Kucinich.

I can't believe there is so much hatred and disrespect going on.

My question for everyone is whether healthcare, prescription drugs, and emergency room treatment should be constitutionally-protected and inalienable rights, or goods andservices to be earned through the acquisition of wealth?

A family member forwarded this email to me. Sandra Miesel explains why Catholics can't be Masons</h3>From a September 2006 article featured on the Our Sunday Visitor website: No pope has ever been a Mason. The Catholic Church has warily monitoredFreemasonry from the time it penetrated Europe. In 1738, Pope ClementXII condemned the Craft for its dependence on mere natural virtue whileignoring Christ's unique role as Savior. He also denounced the rashoaths it demanded of members to protect trivial Lodge secrets. Catholicswho joined the Masons were excommunicated, with reconciliation reservedto the pope. This decree had little effect, however, because it wasn'tpublished in every land, nor was it always taken seriously where it waspublished. Eight subsequent popes would have to repeat the message, most forcefully Pope Leo XIII in his encyclical Humanum Genus(On Freemasonry). Denouncingthe Lodge as "a deceitful and crafty enemy," Pope Leo declared, "Let noman think that he may for any reason whatsoever join the Masonic sect,if he values his Catholic name and his eternal salvation as he ought tovalue them." The 1917 Code of Canon Law included these sternprohibitions. After the Second Vatican Council, however, thelong hostility between Lodge and Church seemed to be easing. Areinterpretation of the anti-Masonic canons in 1974 led some Catholicsto think that only Masonic groups actively plotting against the Churchwere forbidden to them. Even so, some Freemasons had actuallybeen plotting against the Vatican through its bank. In 1981, two of thepope's top financial advisers - known all along as Masons - wereunmasked as members of a secret Lodge called Propaganda Due that wasplotting a fascist takeover of Italy. Both men later died mysteriously. The Vatican lost $240,000 with the collapse of its bank. Changing views Rome'ssofter view of Masonry was abruptly reversed in 1981 just before thefinancial scandal broke. Although the current Code of Canon Law issuedin 1983 fails to mention the Craft by name, in the same year theCongregation for the Doctrine of the Faith firmly reiterated theoriginal ban: "The Church's negative position on Masonicassociations therefore remains unaltered since their principles havealways been regarded as irreconcilable with the Church's doctrine." Read the entire piece. Sandra, by the way, has already finished reading Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol (I'mon page 30 and don't know if I have the strength to continue). I spoketo her yesterday shortly after she had reached the underwhelmingconclusion of the novel, and she noted it was a sort of "love poem" toMasonry, with occasional swipes at Christianity. And today she wrote:"I finished THE LOST SYMBOL, which is a tad better than DA VINCI CODEdespite being rah rah pro-Masonic propaganda.By no means is it a 'good'book, even for popcorn reading." She is working on a piece about thenovel, the Masons, and other esoteric topics for Catholic World Report. For a more detailed examination of the Masons, consider Christianity And American Freemasonry, by William J. Whalen: Whatis it about Freemasonry that would cause churches to forbid or openlydiscourage seventy million Americans from membership? Why have eightpopes condemned the Lodge? Why has the relationship between theCatholic Church and the Masonic order been strained for centuries?Christianity and American Freemasonry answers these and many otherquestions and describes why Christ ianity and Freemasonry areincompatible. Today over two million American men belong to theMasonic order, the largest and oldest secret fraternal society. Inearlier history the Freemasons boasted a prestigious membership, including fourteen American presidents and such founding fathers as BenFranklin, Paul Revere, and Alexander Hamilton. This is the mostcomplete reference book available on the subject. Chapters discuss therituals and oaths, the Scottish and York rites, allied organizationssuch as the Shriners, and the historic antagonism of Christianitytoward Masonry. It is thoroughly documented with facts from: • the three most noted experts on Masonry in America • Masonic ritual books, encyclopedias, and histories • three former Masons, now active Catholics, who contributed firsthand knowledge of Masonic ritual and structure. William Whalen is a nationally known expert on comparative religion, and an author of 15 books and numerous magazine articles.

I think this an issue that cannot be resolved. No doctor is going torefuse to treat someone in ill health. That would be going against theHippocratic Oath to ethically practice medicine. I am sure all the people that screamed 'death panel' would agree.

What about a government run school of medicine for civilians? This would allow people that do not have enough money to afford medical school a way to get free education and help out our country in return. It could be based on the "West Point of Medicine, 'Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and Americorps. Prerequisites: Completed a 2 year term of service with AmeriCorps Biology with Lab (1 year) Inorganic Chemistry with Lab (1 year) Organic Chemistry with Lab (1 year) Physics with Lab (1 year) English (1 year) Calculus (1 semester) MCAT results (April 2007-September 2009) U.S. Citizenship Age RequirementsDue to commissioning standards, applicants that have reached their 31st birthday by 30 June 2010 will have torequest an age waiver prior to an offer. [*]Baccalaureate Degree granted no later than 1 June 2010[*]Clinical Experience Clinical Experience is defined as traditional clinical activity withpatients and/or health care professionals or paraprofessionals.[*]Letter of Approval by Americorps. The doctors would complete their service in existing Free Clinics nationwide. This way the disadvantaged can have a place to go and get treated.
