  1. I think this is a more telling poll. An overwhelming majority of both parties favor taxing people who make over a million dollars at the same rate as those who make less. Equality of tax rate should be a position both sides of the aisle can agree upon. http://dailykos.com/weeklypolling/2011/9/22 Do you support or oppose ensuring that people who make over a million dollars a year pay the same percentage of taxes or more on their total income as those who make less than a million dollars a year? 4. McDonalds got my breakfast order wrong this morning. The problem was the person who took my order could not speak English very well. Had a similar problem at work. I called up UPS Freight Services @ 800-333-7400 could not get a rate quote. The customer service representative was from the Philippines and had no understanding of U.S. geography. She did not know where the District of Columbia was located. Another customer service representative from the USA is contacting me with a quote. I read online that Goldman Sachs is laying off a good portion of their staff and rehiring cheaper ones in Singapore. A friend contacts me on whether I can get him a job. He is a high level programmer that used to make $125 per hour. Now he is down to $20 per hour. Even that is high now days. He has to compete with programmers abroad who will sell their services for $10 per hour. Another friend tells me how his buddy's SEO company is booming. He outsourced all his business to Australia and is making insane money. The only problem is that he cannot bring his money back to the United States. He will be taxed 35%. So he is looking for other options. Another friend calls me up and tells me that he is pissed off at a Chinese furniture plant that is fulfilling his orders. He is upset at the quality and shipment arrival times. He is considering moving his business back to the States. After work I go home and watch an Asian man order his Hispanic construction crew to be back early tomorrow. He is hoping to complete a home renovation in 90 days. Everywhere I go there is less Americans being able to find work. In the 1970s and 1980s manufacturing companies stated outsourcing their labor force. In the 1990s and 2000s service companies started outsourcing their labor force. I look at this country like I do gaining weight. The difference is so slow that you never knew it was happening. When you finally realize your health is actually deteriorating, you are forced to make major life changes. American leaders need to make life changes in how we do business. We will not be able to sustain an unemployed workforce.

  9. USDA just released their annual U.S. food-insecurity rates An estimated 85.5 percent of American households were food secure throughout the entire year in 2010, meaning that they had access at all times to enough food for an active, healthy life for all household members. The remaining households (14.5 percent) were food insecure at least some time during the year, including 5.4 percent with very low food security—meaning that the food intake of one or more household members was reduced and their eating patterns were disrupted at times during the year because the household lacked money and other resources for food. The prevalence rate of very low food security declined from 5.7 percent in 2009, while the change in food insecurity overall (from 14.7 percent in 2009) was not statistically significant. The typical food-secure household spent 27 percent more on food than the typical food-insecure household of the same size and household composition. Fifty-nine percent of all food-insecure households participated in one or more of the three largest Federal food and nutrition assistance programs during the month prior to the 2010 survey. 11. I decided to call SBA to see if this information is correct. They agreed with sending out a letter of determination of findings from your contracting officer. I have also contacted Marie-Alice Denis, a public affairs officer at the GSA Office of Citizen Services and Communications. I asked whether GSA was aware of 13 C.F.R. 124.504 and what safeguards have been put into place to protect their contractors? Mrs Denis stated that she needed to speak with the Director and would get back with me in a few hours.
  12. The Babylonian priests were mystics. They delighted in the substitution of the symbol for the thing. They assigned to their dieties, and to many other facts of their religion, sacred numbers and signs by which the divine things were known in conversation and writing. Thus the god Anu was numbered 60; Bel, 50; Hea, 40; The Moon was 30; the Sun; 20; and Vul, 10. Beltis was 15, and Nergal 12, which were usually employed instead of the sacred names for which were employed instead of the sacred names for which they stood, many other signs and symbols were used in the same mystical manner. The surfaces of the cylinders are in some instances almost covered with these signs, the same being placed here and there in all the vacant spaces of the regular inscription. Among such signs may be mentioned the circle crossed with transverse diameters, which was the symbol of Shamas, god of the Sun. I just found a really good video, The Babylon Mystery

  15. Satkona yantra or sadkona yantra symbolizes the Nara-Narayana, or perfect meditative state of balance achieved between Man and God, and if maintained, results in "Moksha," or "Nirvana" (release from the bounds of the earthly world and its material trappings). Nara-Narayana is the twin-brother incarnation of the preserver-god Vishnu on earth, working for the preservation of dharma or righteousness. In the concept of Nara-Narayana, the human soul Nara is the eternal companion of the Divine Narayana. Narayana is the parabrahman, paramatma and parameshwar means Narayan is the absolute truth, supersoul and the supreme lord of all, it says in vedas Narayana parabrahman tatvam Narayana paraha. Vaikuntha (Sanskrit वैकुण्ठ, vaikuntha), Param Padam ('supreme abode'), or Paramapadam is the abode of Lord Vishnu. It is believed, in the tradition of Vaishnavites, to be the place of eternal bliss, exclusive to the Lord, His eternal consort, the Goddess Lakshmi, and the three-folded Serpent Sesha Naga, upon whom the Lord, and His Shakti (Lakshmi), are believed to rest. A Sat-kona yantra was found at Kataragama in Sri Lanka, a famous pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. The carving dates back to the 3rd Century BCE. This carving with a Tamil 'Om' in the center is found in the Museum für Völkerkunde, Basel. Tamil is one of the longest surviving classical languages in the world. Tamil literature has existed for over two thousand years. The earliest epigraphic records found on rock edicts and hero stones date from around the 3rd century BCE. Om or Aum is a sacred/mystical syllable in the Dharmic or Indian religions, i.e. Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. For more information on the Sat-kona yantra contact Dr. Susanne Knödel Museum für Völkerkunde Head of the Asia department phone: 040. 428 879-240 susanne.knoedel@mvhamburg.de
  16. The last stimulus can be summed up by reading this article, "Bridge Comes to San Francisco, With Made-in-China Label." Infrastructure cannot be outside this country, otherwise it would be Inferstructure. It is interesting to me that our government leaders seem to only seem to support a faux Made in America approach. In the last two decades, nearly six million jobs in manufacturing have been lost overseas. The words of our country's founding leader are clear: "The common & continual mischief of the spirit of Party are sufficient to make it the interest and the duty of a wise People to discourage and restrain it." - President George Washington Farewell Address to the People of the United States - September 19, 1796 Outsourcing is not a Democrat problem. Outsourcing is not a Republican problem. Outsourcing is an American problem. I spoke with Galina Hale, an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco about an article she recently wrote, "The U.S. Content of "Made in China"." I did a little background first. Galina Borisova Hale is a Russian immigrant with very impressive credentials. 2002 Ph.D. Economics. UC Berkeley. Thesis: "International debt and financial crises in emerging market economies". Advisor B.Eichengreen 1996 M.A. Economics (C U M Laude). New Economics School, Moscow, Russia. Advisor V.Polterovich Thesis: "Russian Foreign Trade: Influence of Real Exchange Rate and Regulation" 1996 B.A. Economics (C U M Laude). Moscow State University, Russia. Galina and I spoke at length about all the press she has received about here story. Her response was that she had been away an not seen the stories written yet. I told her a list: ''Made in China' Goods Only Small Sliver of U.S. Consumption Why Amazon Can't Make A Kindle In the USA Sticker shock: 'Made in China' ranks only 2.7% of U.S. spending Everything's Made in China? Not Quite. There were a quite a number of other response articles to her analysis. Some for 'Made in USA,' others for 'Made in China.' But, all them for focused on the statement that the vast majority of goods and services Imported from China amounted to 2.5% of USA Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 2.7 % USA Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) . The source of her calculations were based on Bureau of Labor Statistics (2010) and 2010 trade statistics, Census Bureau (2011) and national accounts data. I told her that I go to Walmart, Target, and a slew of other big box retailers and I find very little to no technology made in the USA. When I asked her about what percentage of GDP and PCE was USA technology was located in her table chart, Galina did not know. I then asked her the effect of 2.5% of USA Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 2.7 % USA Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) on employment, she stated that was not in her calculations. When I told Galina that I was going to post this she immediately stopped answering all questions and told me all her further remarks would have to be cleared by the San Francisco Federal Reserve communications office. I thanked her for her time and was discouraged that our own central banks sometimes work against us. Why not share an in depth perspective of what is going on. We all know it is the LACK OF JOBS. Today I was walking by the National Press building and watched a South Korean News team report on the current economic situation here in the United States. When the reporter was done speaking I spoke with him on why he was here and what he thought about our country. When I spoke with him about trade he immediately thought I was going to ask him why Koreans do not buy American cars. "Your cars are too big and take to much gas! Koreans cannot afford that." When I spoke about technology he stated that America makes Software and his country makes Hardware. "Software is very complex now days." I responded that alot of our Software is now being outsourced he shrugged. I told him that I had a very big secret I would like to share with him. He came closer to make sure he would hear what I had to say. "If the business leaders of your country would build factories in the United States, American would love you." He laughed and told me that his people would not be happy about losing jobs. In my opinion, Free trade is a myth with exchange rates fixed in favor of our foreign competitors. That coupled with cheap labor and China's version of capitalism works against us. US manufacturing companies cannot compete against China's state sponsored factories. I now realize that Federal Reserve and our government are hell bent on not fixing this problem. This woman made me smile when she wrote "It's true that items from China don't just magically appear in our homes. American workers do need to transport, sell and market them. That does not change the fact that we can't forget how to make things! And "making things" uses American workers too." The power is in American consumers living in the USA. The United States of American and the use of the word American. It most important reference being the Declaration of Independence. Don't buy from American companies that don't want Americans to make their products! Let everyone know when you spot a product. We have to give our manufacturers the competitive advantage by spreading the word about them. Our parents sacrificed for the War effort against the Germans and Japanese. Families considered it their patriotic duty to help out any way they could. We are at a similar point today. But, instead of bombs destroying America, its cars, televisions, and cell phones. Also, there are many nonunion manufacturing plants here in America. A huge Toyota plant is right up the road from us. I know neighbors that work there and proud of the work they do. We all dream Red, White, and Blue, but too much division in this country is stopping progress from happening. We need to stop blaming the other side and start being honest on what is going on right before our eyes. In the end it is your choice. "A nation can be no stronger abroad than she is at home." - President John F. Kennedy Spread the word. America is back in business!

  18. Amazing. I wish I knew about this before. Looking Saturn in the Eye Date: 9 Nov 2006 Cassini stares deep into the swirling hurricane-like vortex at Saturn's south pole, where the vertical structure of the clouds is highlighted by shadows. Such a storm, with a well-developed eye ringed by towering clouds, is a phenomenon never before seen on another planet. This 14-frame movie shows a swirling cloud mass centered on the south pole, around which winds blow at 550 kilometers (350 miles) per hour. The frames have been aligned to make the planet appear stationary, while the sun appears to revolve about the pole in a counterclockwise direction. The clouds inside the dark, inner circle are lower than the surrounding clouds, which cast a shadow that follows the sun. At the beginning of the movie, the sun illuminates directly from the top, and by the end it illuminates from the left. The width of the shadow and the height of the sun above the local horizon yield a crude estimate of the height of the surrounding clouds relative to the clouds in the center. The shadow-casting clouds tower 30 to 75 kilometers (20 to 45 miles) above those in the center. This is two to five times greater than the tallest terrestrial thunderstorms and two to five times the height of clouds surrounding the eye of a terrestrial hurricane. Such a height difference arises because Saturn's hydrogen-helium atmosphere is less dense at comparable pressures than Earth's atmosphere, and is therefore more distended in the vertical dimension. The south polar storm, which displays two spiral arms of clouds extending from the central ring and spans the dark area inside a thick, brighter ring of clouds, is approximately 8,000 kilometers (5,000 miles) across, which is considerably larger than a terrestrial hurricane. Eye-wall clouds are a distinguishing feature of hurricanes on Earth. They form where moist air flows inward across the ocean's surface, rising vertically and releasing a load of precipitation around an interior circular region of descending air, which is the eye itself. Though it is uncertain whether moist convection is driving this storm, as is the case with Earthly hurricanes, the dark 'eye' at the pole, the eye-wall clouds and the spiral arms together indicate a hurricane-like system. The distinctive eye-wall clouds especially have not been seen on any planet beyond Earth. Even Jupiter's Great Red Spot, much larger than Saturn's polar storm, has no eye, no eye-wall, and is relatively calm at the center. This giant Saturnian storm is apparently different from hurricanes on Earth because it is locked to the pole, does not drift around like terrestrial hurricanes and because it does not form over liquid water oceans. The images were acquired over a period of three hours on Oct. 11, 2006, when Cassini was approximately 340,000 kilometers (210,000 miles) from Saturn. Image scale is about 17 kilometers (11 miles) per pixel. The images were taken with the wide-angle camera using a spectral filter sensitive to wavelengths of infrared light centered at 752 nanometers. All frames have been contrast enhanced using digital image processing techniques. The unprocessed images show an oblique view toward the pole, and have been reprojected to show the planet from a perspective directly over the south pole. The Cassini-Huygens mission is a cooperative project of NASA, the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a division of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, manages the mission for NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Washington, D.C. 19. Wow. That is really interesting. There is a hexagon on Saturn's North Pole. This nighttime view of Saturn's north pole by the visual and infrared mapping spectrometer onboard NASA's Cassini orbiter clearly shows a bizarre six-sided hexagon feature encircling the entire north pole. This is one of the first clear images taken of the north polar region ever acquired from a unique polar perspective. In this image, the red color indicates the amount of 5-micron wavelength radiation, or heat, generated in the warm interior of Saturn that escapes the planet. Clouds near 3-bar (about 100 kilometers or 62 miles deeper than seen in visible wavelengths) block the light, revealing them in silhouette against the background thermal glow of Saturn. The bluish color shows sunlight striking the far limb (edge) of the planet, showing that the entire north pole is under the nighttime conditions characteristic of polar winter, as on Earth. This image is the first to capture the entire feature and north polar region in one shot, and is also the first polar view using Saturn's thermal glow at 5 microns (seven times the wavelength visible to the human eye) as the light source. This allows the pole to be revealed during the persistent nighttime conditions under way during winter. The hexagon feature was originally discovered by NASA's Voyager spacecraft in 1980, but those historic images and subsequent ground-based telescope images suffered from poor viewing perspectives, which placed the feature and the north pole at the extreme northern limb (edge) in those images. In the new infrared images, the strong brightness of the hexagon feature indicates that it is primarily a clearing in the clouds, which extends deep into the atmosphere, at least some 75 kilometers (47 miles) underneath the typical upper hazes and clouds seen in the daytime imagery by Voyager. Thick clouds border both sides of the narrow feature, as indicated by the adjacent dark lanes paralleling the bright hexagon. This and other images acquired over a 12-day period between Oct. 30 and Nov. 11, 2006, show that the feature is nearly stationary, and likely is an unusually strong pole-encircling planetary wave that extends deep into the atmosphere. This image was acquired with the Cassini visual and infrared mapping spectrometer on Oct. 30, 2006, from an average distance of 1.3 million kilometers (807,782 miles). 20. I am going to contact some of these banks and see if the lending environment is different from the banks that are not part of the program.
  21. That has been my point from the get go. We need to have more of our oil drilled and used for USA consumption only. The bidding process should be for American companies until our country gets back on its feet again. Then we can open the market more. The Chinese restrict their rare earth metals, why should we not do the same with our oil and natural gas? I am now at fault for deviating from the topic here So here is a good link for your collection Human. The Securities and Exchange Commission today voted unanimously to seek public comment on a wide range of issues raised by the use of derivatives by mutual funds and other investment companies regulated under the Investment Company Act. http://www.sec.gov/news/press/2011/2011-175.htm I hope people speak out on this issue. There should be real penalties for the individuals that are playing with our economy for profit. They will continue this until the governors of the country say no.
  22. A stimulas like the last one that uses "Made in China" goods is going to be another huge waste of money. Obama already lost his FDR moment with poor planning on infrastructure projects. What this administration does not understand is materials and the labor to assemble goods must be made here in the USA to help put Americans back to work and stimulate economic growth. When I see actual bridges built in China that are coming to New York and San Francisco, it shows government knows how to save money. But, it also shows government does not really understand the meaning of a stimulas.
  23. This is the person that has the inside scoop on the Beaufort Sea drilling John Pavitt P: (907) 271-3688 F: (907) 271-3424 Pavitt.John@epa.gov Here is a good article by the New York Times. From reading these articles I do not understand what this has to do with oil speculation. But, I have read that both airlines and oil companies do not like speculators. Sometimes people get confused and blame the oil producers for the high prices when it really is the excessive market speculation that is to blame.
  24. Here is the current Wall Street investment bank projections.
