Scripture shows that God choose to communicate with Solomon through his dreams. God also gives Solomon supernatural wisdom to judge his people. In addition, God prophesies that He will give Solomon a long life and wealth beyond his dreams as long as he follows the law. At this point Solomon would be considered a Prophet King. 1 Kings 3 The second time God appeared to Solomon the Father Almighty promised to dwell in the temple built for him. But, God warned Solomon a second time that if Solomon turned his back on God then the Father would leave the temple and destroy Israel. 1 Kings 9 Many Kings made offerings to their gods. Every Sunday people of Christian faiths give offerings of money to God and their church. So I would not deem making an offering a priestly function. 1 Kings 3 This passage reveals that Solomon prayed with his subjects and then went to the alter and performed the offering ritual. Scripture does not mention other priest helping him. This is a priestly function. 2 Chronicles 1 This passage of scripture reveals that God favored Solomon. 2 Samuel 12 As a Catholic I believe that God made Lucifer the greatest of all angels. God gave Lucifer the free choice to follow his pride or follow the Father Almighty's plan. Pride or Humility. Lucifer choose pride and fell from God's Grace. The same can happen for even the most powerful of mortal men. Moses, Sampson, David, Solomon, and many others fell from God's Grace. But, each prophet understood their mistake and repented. So many "New Age" prophets take out the divinity of Holy Books like the Bible. Yet they need the wisdom of religion, because they cannot create morality on their own. A person that truly believes in a knowable Creator is able to experience these spiritual words as one who writes correspondence to a friend and loved one. Like many others I found the Bible in a state of humility. I found the words of Yahweh to be of great comfort that have guided me like a good father to his son to a better way of thinking. It is true that faiths have conflicts in interpreting what is stated in the bible. Let's take Homosexuality in the Anglican and Episcopal clergy. Homosexual Bishops considered successors to the Apostles and by birthright governed by Queen Elizabeth. In the Church of England, Jeffrey John eventually succumbed to pressure to withdraw his name from consideration to be the Bishop of Reading. In the Episcopal Church USA, Gene Robinson was elected and consecrated Bishop of New Hampshire, becoming the first openly gay bishop in the Anglican Communion. In 2003, ECUSA became the first Anglican province to ordain an openly gay priest in a same-sex relationship as a bishop. 2008 Several hundred bishops boycott the Lambeth Conference.
