The Truth as I see it was that the Torah, Gospels, and Qur'an were orally transmitted before they were written down in text. From what I read first Qur'an was canonized by Uthman ibn Affan around 653-656 AD. That is 40 to 46 years after Gabriel came to the Prophet Mohammed reciting to him the first verses of the Sura Iqra (al-`Alaq). The Prophet Mohammed died in 632.
