I do like this conversation. But, I am only a student of understanding complex variables. But, I do know that our Earth's crust forms in part by the coming together of island arcs including granite and metamorphic fold belts. It is understood that these fold belts are kept together partly by the using up of the mantle below the crust, which makes a mantle on which the crust tectonic plates float at an elevation dependent on their thickness and density. Thus, the higher the mountain the lower its density roots. It is true that the primary or (pressure) waves are what you say dispersed in areas of lower density. We also know that earthquakes at depths greater than 60 km below the surface occur at the Himalayan collision zone where the Indian Plate underthrusts the Himalayan mountains and the southern Tibetan Plateau. We also know that the viscoelastic relaxation of the mantle causes earthquakes as well. Neither mountains nor isostasy play a role to "balance" the Earth's crust, it is done by mineral reorganizations from high temperature and pressure. It is probable that the lower crust is made up of dry granulite, responsible for its seismogenic behaviour and strength as manifested by its relatively large effective elastic thickness. In time the sub-crustal erosion will replace this shield with a growing magma layer and remove the stability of the Indian shield. As the density changes, so does the the effects of pressure waves. Also, in time the forces of wind and rain will erode mountains down. I have the opportunity to see the result of erosion, by hiking the ancient Appalachian mountains near my home. We are learning that the ramifications of our pursuit of technology such as weight water dams, fraking, and drilling are changing the pressure balance and causing stress on old fault lines. It is amazing to read the lament of man tested by God thousands of years ago. Job 14 Sometimes change is hard to see in the here and now.

The Continental Plates are constantly building and tearing down mountains. Erosion is a factor also. I think it is important for those of faith to put their trust in the Lord to get them through it. Psalms 45 Luke 6

I am not sure I understand your statement. Volcanoes are formed when a plate is pushed below another plate, or at a mid-ocean ridge or hotspot. Fold mountains occur when two plates collide: shortening occurs along thrust faults and the crust is overthickened. Block mountains are caused by faults in the crust: a seam where rocks can move past each other. When rocks on one side of a fault rise relative to the other, it can form a mountain.

David and Jesus - Priest, Prophet, and King
Luke_Wilbur replied to Luke_Wilbur's topic in Christianity
Those closest to Jesus lost hope that he would deliver his promise of rising up in 3 days. They did not even recognize their savior until he revealed to them all the signs revealed by the Prophets of His coming. They then knew Christ had conquered death. Luke 24 -

I agree that we all must be tolerant of individual beliefs and coexist in peace. The Evil One wants us to taunt and turn away from the truth of God's Holy Spirit. Matthew 4 Let us both pray for peace. Christians, Jews, and Muslims are brothers under God. If you have time read the Didache. I believe that you will find wisdom that does not conflict with your faith and understand the righteous Christian mind shortly after the Ascension of Christ. I understand that divinity of Christ we disagree on, but Allah's Spirit of Truth prevails in scripture. Love of (Allah, Adonai, God) and Love of your others (mother, father, husband, wife, brother, sister, relative, friend, and those you do not know) are things we all can all agree is truth.

God be with you Ennin, I hope your Ramadan is going well. I believe that people of other faiths can learn a great deal about fasting and hygiene from Islam. I thank you for sharing that with us all. I did get to watch a little of the video before I left for church. Sunday is my holy day. From what I watched Sheikh Ahmed Deedat missed the whole point of Matthew 12. Jesus knew the Jewish Pharisees understood that true prophets should perform signs and great miracles. The sign of the Prophet Jonah coming out 'alive' from the belly of a fish signified one whom God had delivered from certain death. Jesus was saying that His deliverance from death in the grave, which would be similar to Jonah’s deliverance, only greater, and would prove His claims as truth that he was priest, prophet, and king glorified from the Father Almighty, Creator of the visible and invisible. Matthew 12 Jesus promised the wicked and adulterous a sign to know that his words are true. Matthew 16 John 15 Sheikh Ahmed Deedat states that "He [Jesus] was ever in hiding." I think Christians and Muslims can both agree that Christ is not a coward. In both of our beliefs a coward is a person who lacks faith in God. Both of our faiths know Jesus has full faith in God and feared no man. Sheikh Ahmed Deedat also does not take into account the Didache (The Teaching) which is considered to be the oldest record of Christianity. I have been exploring it for the past couple of months and find it a great way to understand early Christian beliefs. Imagine a world 500 years before Mohammed was conceived. What was once the Roman Empire that persecuted Christians evolved to the Christian Byzantine Empire. Most of the Jewish people had been dispersed from their homeland to the Arabian peninsula and North Africa. Many came to Babylon under the protection of the Sasanian Empire. It is that time period that the Jews created the Talmud. When Mohammed was born it had just been completed. I am sure just like the Bible it spread to Jewish communities everywhere. Many Jews believe that Mohammed was greatly influenced by it. I have read many passages and find it very interesting to see how scripture is deciphered. I think all students of monotheism should read the Didache, Talmud, and Hadith. What I focus mainly on is the similar tracts in all the beliefs. The question I ask people of faith is why is it hard to believe that Christ conquered death? Your faith believes that Jesus was the Messiah that was born by the power of God and then returned to God and will come again. Surely that alone would make him the greatest of all Prophets. You faith believes that Solomon could talk to and command the birds, and elementals and conquer the ants? Why is it so difficult to believe that Christ commands us to love each other and has conquered the evil one? Love does conquer ALL. Surat An-Naml (The Ant) I wish our faiths could bridge that one part. But, I still admire people of the Islamic faith. My father used to tell me that there are many to paths to Heaven. I believe that.

Right to Privacy vs. National Security

People were jumping the gun on this article by the Atlantic Wire. Including me Turns out both victim, the Atlantic Wire, and the Guardian were wrong. It was the Computer company that spotted the keywords and tipped off the cops. Which in this world we live in is the right thing to do. This is an example why the American people need better transparency from government and corporations. Just like how research aircraft lead to alien abductions. If you believe those stories then you should visit the Mothman museum in West Virginia. They will gladly accept your donation. Contractors like Snowden and employees of our government like Manning have to face the law for what they have done. Even if it is wrong or right. Once you have quit working for the military , then things change and you may want to " tell your story " as many do. To me what Snowden did was enlightening. But, I am losing more respect that he is hiding
