  1. That if he had his way, he would outlaw all religions because they are institutions that instill hatred in people. Anybody agree with this?
  2. Richard J. Pennington is Atlanta’s 22nd Chief of Police. He is responsible for the overall operation of the largest municipal law enforcement agency in the State of Georgia which consists of 2,300 sworn and non-sworn employees, three divisions and an annual budget of more than $165 million. He has been active in law enforcement for over thirty years. He began his law enforcement career in the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Police Department rising to the rank of Assistant Chief. In 1994, he was hired after a national search to become the Chief of Police in New Orleans, LA. During his tenure in New Orleans, he dramatically reduced homicides by fifty percent, created a Public Integrity Division to root out internal corruption, implemented community policing programs and created effective partnerships between the police and community. He established new hiring standards for recruits and totally reorganized the department by decentralizing all enforcement and investigative functions, holding Commanders accountable, and implementing the Computer Statistics (COMSTAT) program. This resulted in a 55% (fifty-five) decrease in violent crimes. As Chief of the Atlanta Police Department since July 2002, Chief Pennington has been instrumental in assisting business leaders to establish the Atlanta Police Foundation; established a weekly Command Operation Briefing to Revitalize Atlanta (COBRA) to discuss crime patterns and develop strategies to eliminate problems throughout our city; has received national accreditation for the Department through CALEA as of March, 2005; and reorganized the Department by decentralizing all enforcement and investigative functions. He has also implemented a new beat redesign to more evenly distribute officers’ workload; formed the Cyber Crime Task Force with the FBI to develop skills and resources for investigating computer-related crimes; and established a new Homeland Security Unit within the Department. Chief Pennington has implemented a lateral entry program which recruits and trains new officers who currently have policing experience; received approval to hire 100 additional officers; and most importantly, has reduced crime in the City by 21.2%. He is a graduate of American University (Bachelor’s Degree), University of the District of Columbia (Master’s Degree), the F.B.I. National Academy, the George Washington University Executive Development Program, the F.B.I. National Executive Institute, and the Senior Executives Program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has received numerous awards from citizen groups, federal agencies, civic organizations and business communities including Governing Magazine’s “Public Official of the Year.” Chief Pennington is the current National President of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and is a member of the following organizations: International Association of Chiefs of Police, Major Cities Chiefs of Police Association, Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, 100 Black Men of Atlanta, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is also a member of Cascade United Methodist Church.
  3. ADRIAN FENTY – A MODERN DAY ADOLF HITLER I have a stone in my shoe and it is Adrian Fenty, and what I feel many do not see in all that he is doing. That being, Mr. Fenty says that he wants to do things for the good of all Washingtonians but I disagree. Mr. Fenty represents the politics of greed, the politics of racism, the politics of hate for older people and his own actions to date support this. I feel that most Washingtonians are oblivious to what is taking shape or are missing the tell tale signs of what is down the road. Mr. Fenty clearly has a latent bias for African Americans but a more obvious bias based upon age. Adrian Fenty reminds me of a pre-Nazi Germany in that Adolf Hilter before coming to power said that he wanted a country free of the vices and more of older Germans, and that his vision of Germany is one where the young under 45 would run things and the eradication of the Jews. The words of Adrian Fenty sounds like Adolf Hitler in that, he made it very clear at the outset of his campaign that his administration will be for the young as he has been noted as saying such but that was also the driving campaign slogan that Adolf Hitler used to get elected. Some might think I am going to extremes by comparing Adrian Fenty to Adolf Hitler but look hard! How many people over 45 has Fenty nominated or is considering? Look at how many African Americans, Asian Americans or Hispanics Adrian Fenty has nominated or is considering. Adrian Fenty is moving toward an administration made up vast majority of about 90% Caucasians and under 45 and that is only because Adrian Fenty is a bigot towards older people and African Americans. As a child in Mt. Pleasant, Adrian Fenty avoided playing with other African American children and went out of his way to befriend Caucasians. I saw this first hand.
  4. Hey Bfrankdc, Do you have a job?
  5. So far, all of Fenty's appointments have been White People. No African Americans, no Asian Americans and no Hispanic Americans have been nominated by Fenty. Also nobody over 45 has been nominated.
  6. THE BANKRUPT BRAIN TRUST OF WARD 3 I think many out there who keep up with the various postings here on TheMail and other message board and blogs have come to realize that the people of my ward, ward 3 are extremely politically active. The people of ward 3 are the best educated people in the city but a careful analysis of them will show that while they are very smart in that area they got their degree in, they dumber than a bag of hammers on most other subject matters, and this is reflected in their postings and lack of understanding of issues and rarely offer of any good solutions. Furthermore, they are quick to become offended by anyone who dares to disagree with them and that is not good when there is a need to fix things. Mayor elect Fenty has been tapping in this Brain Trust of Ward 3 believing that if he listens to the learned people of ward 3, then he cannot go wrong. So far, Mr. Fenty has put most of his Easter eggs in one basket and has ignore other eggs (people of wards 4,5,6,7 and 8) who have not contributed to his transition team and so much more. In my travels throughout this city, I have found that when talking to people over in the lower NW, NE, SE and SW sides of town, they are more down to earth, more reasonable and more open-minded on issues but up here in ward 3, it is very hard to get a consensus because people here just have it very hard to get along with each other and everybody is a general and you cannot find any foot soldiers. I make an issue of the people of ward 3 because we need to look at who is really advising Mr. Fenty behind the scenes and this can explain to some degree why Mr. Fenty is doing what he is doing, and it can give us insight as to possibly what he will come with. Mr. Fenty is being advised by some very narrow minded, selfish and somewhat bigoted minded people, and this is why you have seen so far very few minorities being appointed by Mr. Fenty and people over the age of 50. Where else in America would you see a mayor elect nominate someone for attorney general who has been out to lunch for the past ten years in the legal profession, nominate someone to head a department of education who has been smack dab in the middle of the problems or want to terminate a chief of police who has been one of our better chiefs? Mr. Fenty says that he wants to do things for the good of all Washingtonians but I disagree. Mr. Fenty represents the politics of greed, the politics of racism, the politics of hate for older people and his own actions to date support this.
  7. I sure am and others like DC Watch and a long string of other message boards are publishing what I say. Where the Hell have you been hiding Aglue? I heard you have made a pain of yourself over in the Glover Park list server.
  8. MARY CHEH AND THE LINDA J. SINGER CONNECTION While she is not required to, ward 3 council member elect Mary Cheh should re-cuse herself from any DC City Council action as it concerns consideration of mayor elect Adrian Fenty’s nomination of Linda J. Singer for attorney general. The reason being, Linda J. Singer and her husband Joe Sternlieb set up and became the people behind Mary Cheh for City Council. At the outset of the ward 3 city council race, a group of twenty five (25) people calling themselves Friends of Joe Sternlieb invited all of the ward 3 candidates to interview with them in order to get their support and endorsement. This group chose Mary Cheh which was their right to do. After choosing Mary Cheh, Joe Sternlieb and his wife Linda J. Singer took over and ran behind the scenes what was known as Mary Cheh for City Council. Since Linda J. Singer played a serious role in Mary Cheh’s campaign, Mary Cheh should re-cuse herself from any council matter taking up Linda J. Singer’s possible nomination as Mary Cheh certainly would feel an obligation to vote favorably for all the help Linda J. Singer gave on her campaign.
  9. VICTOR A. REINOSO, ANOTHER BAD FENTY APPOINTEE While our school buildings do in fact need to be repaired or new schools built in their place, the problem with our students is not the teachers but with the students themselves, and with their parents who do not show as much interest in their education as my and your parents did. This is a subject for another day. Recently, mayor Elect Adrian Fenty appointed Victor A. Reinsos, who is already a member of our failed school board to head up our soon to be DC Dept. of Education. Excuse me, but picking a loser from a group who has failed us, by turning things around doesn’t make sense to me! Victor A. Reinoso claim to shame on our DC Board of Education is http://www.k12.dc.us/dcps/boe/boebios.html#Reinoso but more often than one might realize, he has been accused of over inflating his Resume and what work he has really done, especially at Federal City Council which has been made an issue on TheMail, the Washington City Paper and elsewhere. Mr. Reinoso will only have a real job if the US Congress decides to allow a mayoral take over in whole or in part of our public schools which I hope they are wise enough not to do as there was good reason why the US Congress wanted to keep our schools out of the hands of our public leaders. This appointment of Mr. Reinoso is about as idiotic as Mr. Fenty’s appointment of an inactive lawyer for ten (10) years (Linda J. Singer), to be our next attorney general. Linda J. Singer is not even a member of the DC Bar or after being in DC 10 plus years chose to be a member or would have applied for such membership if Mr. Fenty was not about to nominate her. Mr. Fenty is starting to show all of us that he does not care about the experience or quality of the people he is appointing, but rather, he is showing us that he is engaging in massive cronyism by appointing people who worked on his political campaign with little or no regard for their actual skills or abilities to carry out the job ahead of them.
  10. A DC CONGRESSIONAL VOTE vs. REPUBLICANS AND BLUE DOG DEMOCRATS Have you ever been on a date where you were sure at the end of the night it would not end with just a kiss, but you would get invited in for a night cap and whoopee only to make it to the door and not get even a kiss? Well, DC’s belief that we are now closer than ever to getting a vote in Congress might just turn out like I have described above. The fact that the Democrats have taken control of both houses of Congress is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. In other words, those Democrats that prevailed were mainly what are called Blue Dogs and they are not very likely to support a vote in Congress for the District. Several local newspapers pointed out that many of these Blue Dogs coming to town in January 2007 are opposed to abortion, gay rights, gun control and other things that liberal Democrats stand for. Congress cannot in good conscience grant a vote to the 560,000 people of DC and not grant it to the 5,700,000 U.S. citizens in American Samoa, Guam, Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands at the same time without risking resentment and discord.
  11. I guess this explains why Bfrankdc never IDs his true self.
  12. Maybe I cannot Bfrankdc because you were one of those people involved in posting that crap, took it down and now being coy about it. I suspect you were dude. Now get a life you lying XYZ....
  13. Whatever dude. Now move on and get a life!
  14. THEY LOST BUT THEIR WEBSITES ARE STILL UP http://www.goulet2006.com/ http://www.gaull2006.com/ http://www.cathywiss06.com/
  15. SENDING A BOY TO DO A MAN’S JOB NBC4 TV as it concerns mayor elect Adrian Fenty and his desire to take over the DC Public Schools pointed out to viewers that this a three step process. This being: 1. The DC City Council must first approve any plan Fenty proposes; 2. That if the DC City Council approves Fenty’s take over plan, they must send it up to Congress for approval; and 3. President Bush must agree which would constitute a changing of the DC Home Rule Act. More than likely, and as I have pointed out, there will be some on the DC City Council who will want to see Fenty fail. As such, whatever Fenty proposes will not get passed but get watered down by things members of the council wants before heading to Congress. Most outsiders feel getting council approval will happen in some form but not in whole what Fenty will ask for and then Congress will reject it. The smart money is on Congress rejecting any effort on Fenty’s part to take over our schools as Congress will see Robert Bobb as being better prepared and situated to make the needed changes to fix those problems. In sum, Fenty will fail and be forced to deal with Robert Bobb with a little nudging from Congress on Bobb. I believe that Robert Bobb is better qualified than Fenty and time will bare this out!
  16. While there seems to be this trend in DC area to go and listen to what is called "Indie" music, I have found most of these bands to be horrible and the reason they are "Indie" is because no major producer, record label or DJ finds them worth promoting. Give me those top 10 bands any day like: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Killers, Blue October, Aerosmith and others.
  17. Bfrankdc, you are a pathological liar. Both Cathy Wiss and Robert Gordon stated to others that they recognized the people who were posting attacks on them on the list servers, that these people were in the Mary Cheh camp, that these people removed some of their postings and anybody can write and ask them if this is not the case. Attacks on Cathy Wiss continued after the primary when Cheh's people put up an opposing candidate to Cathy Wiss for her ANC spot she was seeking to be re-elected to. Bfrankdc you are a bad liar or an operative for Cheh because you spend all your time playing the Devil's advocate to anything I see and it is tight you buzz away. As long as Cathy Wiss, Robert Gordon and Bill Rice too said it happened, then their word is more trusting than your's.
  18. TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL On November 12, 2006, Gary Imhoff as it concerns our public schools writes: “As I’ve written before, I haven’t been given any reason to trust either his (Fenty) or Bobb’s motives in wanting to take control of the school budget, buildings, property, assets, and construction fund and, incidentally, the education of our children, so for now I’m just happy that they’re fighting rather than cooperating to divide up the spoils.” On October 29, 2006, in “TheMail”, I wrote: “I believe that there will be an ugly tug of war between the Board of Education and our next mayor, most likely Adrian Fenty. I believe that the Board of Education will resist vehemently a takeover, will argue that a mayoral takeover is not needed, and that the plan presented for a takeover is flawed. They will rely on recent reports by the New York Times that say that mayoral takeover of schools nationwide have not proven to be a success anywhere, and that even NY state is talking about seizing control of the NYC schools back from Mayor Bloomberg. I believe that Adrian Fenty, when all is said and done, will be a bigger failure as mayor than Sharon Pratt Kelly was. His early-on fights with the council and others will water down his efforts to take over our schools by members on the council. Vincent Gray, who so much wants to be our next mayor; Kwame Brown, etc., will not want to see Fenty succeed. Special interest groups who do not like Fenty will jump in to help trip him, and he will not get the respect he wants from outside DC to make certain things happen. I believe Fenty will fail in his efforts to make our schools better, that two years from now we will all regret having voted for him, and that Vincent Gray and Jack Evans will come up with plans to better our schools without a mayoral and/or council takeover.” For now, our schools are in the hands of president elect Robert Bobb until Fenty and/or Gray gets the U.S. Congress to agree to amend the DC Home Rule Act allowing them any control or a voice. Fenty seized upon an emotional issue for voters without a plan, just like Bush has no plan to get us out of Iraq! I have no confidence in most anything Adrian Fenty says he is going to do, as he is all image without any real substance and the voters failed to see that before they elected him but they will when November 2010 comes around. Until Fenty and/or Gray get the U.S. Congress to amend our Home Rule Act, we do not have to worry too much about any power plays, upstaging, back-stabbing or the like. I believe that Robert Bobb will do just fine and a lot better at fixing our schools than Fenty could ever do in his wildest dreams.
  19. The DC City Council is proposing a pay raise from $92k to $140k a year for their part-time position. That would be $20k more a year than I get for my full-time job. Doesn't that sound kind of greedy on their part?
  20. What was the message? Attacking Cathy Wiss and Bill Rice because thery held a different position? They could have posted such in their own name.
  21. Nelson Jacobsen only allows people to join is Ward3 list server after he approves your membership. There is no Bfrankdc as a member of ward 3 list server. Either you are lying Bfrankdc or you are guilty of having many aliases and posting the same. Tell us what your screen name is over on ward 3 list sever so we will know if what you say has any truth to it! YOU CAN ONLY ACCESS THE WARD 3 LIST SERVER AS AN APPROVED MEMBER!
  22. Nelson, There were four screen names that came in under the same IP address and they were Anne-Marie Baristow A/k/a Joycemarie20008 and Linda J. Singer A/k/a DC_jensign. When these postings took place, they were attacks on Kathy Wiss.
  23. I did post them prebiously in Nelson Jacobsen's Ward 3 list server. Otherwise how would you know such Bfrankdc unless you were one of those alias posters?
  24. ADRIAN FENTY – DC’S DR. JECKYL & MR. HYDE Shortly after Adrian Fenty won the Democratic nomination for mayor, he made a public announcement on TV and in the local press which was reported by the Washington Post and Times that he was going to appoint Kathy Patterson the outgoing ward 3 council member as Deputy Mayor for Public Safety. Three days later, Adrian Fenty after meeting with DC School Board Superintendent Clifford Janney and Chief Charles Ramsey of the DC MPD stood on the front steps of the John Wilson Bldg and stated on NBC4 TV that he was going to abolish the position of Deputy Mayor for Public Safety as part of some understanding he had with Charles Ramsey. This is just one of a half dozen flip-flops mayor elect Fenty has engaged in. Mr. Fenty has not even been sworn in yet as mayor and he is already showing people that maybe Mayor Anthony Williams is right; namely, Mr. Fenty is not yet ready to be mayor! If I appear to be picking on Mr. Fenty then maybe there is good reason for it, as I wonder each morning when I wake up if that day I will be facing Fenty’s Dr. Jeckyll or Fenty’s Mr. Hyde.
  25. Why does 66% of the registered voters in DC never go to the polls? Anybody have an explanation why DC voters shun the polls, do not get involved in politics or just do not care who gets elected?
