A BLACK EYES ON THE GLBT COMMUNITY This weekend is the 2008 Capitol Pride celebration in Washington, DC and awards are being given out to some members of the LGBT community. This award; Capital Pride Heroes 2008 has been given to a handful including Bob Summersgill which we think is a major mistake. Summersgill’s claim to fame has been fighting over the years the anti sodomy laws which were used as a justification to arrest gay men for being gay. Summersgill was at one time the President of the Gay, Lesbian Activist Alliance . The problem we have with Summersgill is, Summersgill in the past was posting unclothed pictures of himself on the internet at online clubs for under-aged boys which prompted us to call Summersgill a Pedophile and Summersgill moving quickly to remove those unclothed pictures. Summersgill was confronted with the proof from Google snap shots of his profiles and pictures although he took them down. Summersgill out of anger for being exposed for what he did began attacking. Despite what others may think of Summergills, it does not diminish what he did and the fact that he is a bad choice for any award that the LGBT community wishes to bestow on people for their contributions.

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU? This week different news medias have been marveling over the amount of money DC City Councilman Kwame Brown (at large) has been amassing for his re-election campaign. As a matter of fact, Brown has out-done veteran councilman Jack Evans. We believe Brown's good fortune is reflective of the fine job he has done as a member of the DC City Council, and a sign of public approval that many want him back for a second term. I do! What can Brown do for you? Ask the hundreds of voters whose lives he has touched!

District of Columbia Office of Human Resources Friends & Family Plan The District of Columbia Office of Human Resources over the last twenty years has been plagued with corruption but specifically allegations of cronyism in the form of its staff bumping qualified candidates to insure jobs for their family members and friends. It is now being reported by former employees if DCHR that the Fenty Administration has slowly but surely been firing upward of 20-40 people inside DCHR but for what reason is unknown and this fact has been hidden from the local media. DC City Administrator Dan Tangherlini in February 2007 assured "Me" that Mayor Fenty has on his agenda a plan to wipe out the corruption and cronyism at DCHR and for us to give it time to take fruit.

DC CITY ADMINISTRATOR DAN TANGHERLINI NOMINATED FOR Of all the DC government leaders as far back as one can remember, none matches DC City Administrator Dan Tangherlini as being the worst in all imagineable categories and especially for being the biggest liar you could ever meet. RED TAPE While it is hard to get people to agree on many issues of importance, there is one issue that 95% of all voters do agree on and that is, RED TAPE. By RED TAPE I mean; the fact that our elected leaders can often be our worst enemy by failing to do the job they were elected to, failing to do things that are in the best interest of the people and failing to concern themselves with the feelings of voters. Americans need more often than they do to use the power of RECALL of our leaders who are not cutting voter mustard, and get the laws changed to make it easier to recall a RED TAPER. This week, the DC City Council has recessed and left a lot of matters unaddressed and they do that deliberately so as not to have to vote on such and hoping that when they return you and I will have forgotten. Recessing is trick of the political trade to avoid hot issues.

A NEW DC COMMUNITY COLLEGE - YEAH RIGHT A group of District leaders is calling for the creation of a community college to provide job training for city residents. It's not a new idea. Various commissions have recommended it over the past few decades, but there has never been the political will -- or money -- to make it happen. This time, in an effort led by the Brookings Institution, the D.C. Appleseed Center for Law and Justice and the D.C. Fiscal Policy Institute, a group of civic leaders hope the timing might be right. Officials at the city's public college, the University of the District of Columbia, say they hope to play a major role. "It's one of our top priorities now," said James W. Dyke Jr., the UDC board chairman. The sad truth is, DC once has two community colleges that prepared its residents for technical skilled jobs but they were gobbled up by the University of the District of Columbia and their curriculums were phased out. I do not believe that our elected leaders really care about providing job training for low income, blue collar type people as that would defeat their support over the years for a well designed gentrification of DC and anger developers by making it possible for low income earners to remain in DC and frustrate developers in their long term goals.

THE 2008 RACE FOR THE CURE Despite the extreme humidity and blazing heat, over 50,000 women of all ages showed up Saturday to the National Mall to participate in the 19th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to help raise money for breast cancer research. Of course, Lung Cancer kills more women every year in America than breast, cervic or ovarian cancers combined. Cancer is a scourge on our society; I know, I have cancer and have been fighting it for seven (7) months now.

HATE ME TODAY, HATE ME TOMORROW As I look back on the last two years of postings I have done here, I noticed that there was a lot of hostility I drew probably all from the same one or two persons posting under different name. Those people are gone and I wonder why? Maybe they too realized that most of what I said was true and good for them. View the video at YouTube.

BARACK OBAMA ANOTHER JIMMY CARTER IN THE MAKING Now that a would-be first female president is ending her quest for the White House, the race is more about women than ever before. With Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s ending her campaign for the Democratic nomination, the presumptive nominees are moving to claim her followers, especially her signature bloc, the millions of women who cast primary votes for her. Senator Barack Obama’s campaign is positioning itself as the rightful heir to these Democratic voters. Senator John McCain’s strategists are plotting to convert them, particularly older women who are skeptical of Mr. Obama’s thin résumé. Even the Democratic National Committee chairman is avidly trying to make up for accusations that he allowed sexism in the race to pass unchallenged. In keeping with this close bond, many supporters say they are less likely to transfer this heartfelt allegiance to Mr. Obama than to follow their hero’s cues. If Barack Obama is elected president he will turn out to be another Jimmy Carter if not worse.

BROKEN FENCES THAT CAN'T BE MENDED While Hillary Clinton's congressional supporters have thrown their support behind Barack Obama, Clinton supporters across American have not. There is still a very large segment of Clinton supporters who have made it clear that even if Clinton throws her support behind Obama they will not for many reasons. Obama may come November find that a large number of white women, blue collar workers and Hispanics will not vote for him and stay home or cast a protest vote for John McCain. Obama has acknowledge that many of Clinton's supporters will probably note vote for him but he will do his best to mend those fences. Unfortunately the news media has similar concerns while efforts of party unity is still spoken of. We believe that 10% of all Democrats will not cast their vote for Barack Obama and depending on how many Democrats stay home and how many Republicans come out will determine the outcome of who will win on November 4, 2008. The problem for Obama will not be easily put aside but can either improve or get worse depending on how he performs toe to toe with McCain on the issues.

IT WOULD BE A VERY BAD CHOICE Mayor Adrian Fenty is now faced with having to appoint an attorney general on a permanent basis. Current interim attorney general Peter J. Nickles would be a bad choice all round and the reasons are so many they would take pages to list. To make it short, Nickles is flaming jackass and nobody really likes him not even the neighbor's dog.

ELECT MR. CRACK HEAD FOR WARD 8 CITY COUNCIL It is no secret now that ex-convict, crack head and womanizer Marion Barry is going to seek re-election to his Ward 8 seat on the DC City Council but this time with a long list of challengers. When are the people of Ward 8 going to elect somebody who is not an embarrassment to them or DC?

ITS OBAMA'S ELECTION TO LOSE Barack Obama has some urgent making up to do among a lot of angry white women — lifetime Democrats who spurned him for Hillary Rodham Clinton in the primaries and now are threatening to stay home or even vote for Republican John McCain in November. Amid all the talk about a first black president, many women are deeply disappointed, in some cases furious, that Clinton's own historic campaign fell short and that Obama's campaign undercut her along the way. Her loss was painful for women who have encountered sex discrimination themselves, especially older women who saw her as the best hope for electing a female president in their lifetimes. Obama needs to make up not just to white women but Jews, Hispanics and blue collar workers or this election will be his to lose.

DC vs THE REST O THE USA The people of the District of Columbia politically speaking are very different than the majority of people outside of the beltway in their views on a long string of issues. Thus the people of DC often find it hard to understand why others think the way they do. DC may be the last truly liberal stronghold in America while other liberal areas like California and New York have grown more conservative in their ways voting in more conservative minded leaders. People of DC got a good taste of how different we are during the Democratic party race between Clinton and Obama and some were shocked to learn that there are still major pockets of bigots in America like Kentucky where votes said they can't see tghemselves voting for a black man or other areas against women. DC IS A UNIQUE PLACE TO LIVE!

RIGGING THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS THE FENTY WAY Mayor Adrian Fenty has appointed a totally inexperienced person to chair the DC Board of Election and Ethics. We are talking about a local attorney named Errol Arthur, and to add injury to insult, Arthur names a highly questionable Sylvia Goldsberry-Adams as interim Director of the DC Board of Election and Ethics. These two choices are insane and will cheapen anything the DC Board of Elections and Ethics will do. Moreover, these choices show the public at large that Fenty is appointing people he knows who will rule favorably to him in any disputed matter of election ethics. Of course, some members of the DC City Council are not happy with this appointment.

MAYOR ADRIAN FENTY IS ANTI-UNION & HATES THE POLICE Kristopher Baumann, chairman of the Fraternal Order of Police Metropolitan Police Department Labor Committee has accused Mayor Adrian Fenty of being anti-union and in the current contract negotiations pointing out that the proposal offers officers no guaranteed pay raises, reduces the right to appeal disciplinary matters and cuts out a lot that is already in place that benefits officers. From what is known about the current contract proposal from the District of Columbia to the rank and file of the Metropolitan DC Police Department, it does come across as dealing in bad faith on the part of the city, a clear effort to reduce pay and benefits and more.
