  1. From my vantage point. There is an increase in senseless blame without understanding the cause. I search for friends with a calm and happy nature. We share ideas in a cooperative spirit. Some work with me on various ventures. I tend to believe that great business leaders are friends with employees, vendors and customers. I am now at the age of understanding that there is another piece to good business. A business that earns Community respect brings an avocation of new customers. Word-of-mouth now includes Social Networking. People are making more judgments from the posts of their friends.
  2. Make sure not to lean too much on one particular side.
  3. This must be Serendipitous Day. I had a hour long discussion with a Gentlemen in Arizona that has a very similar position. I think the United States still has enough leverage to get economic concessions from China. I see that they are bailing out the Greeks and helping them build a shipping industry. Corporations are holding onto their investment capital until after the elections. But, industry is ramping up. I can feel it begin to humm.
  4. What are they afraid of specifically?
  5. If we lose our edge in space. It is all over.
  6. I will say the solution is simple. Start focusing on American Manufacturing. Start with the circuitry, then move to engines, then move to energy. Give small business the advantage at producing hard goods. Get Americans to buy American made goods. Every politician should be promoting it every chance they get. Retail stores will follow if they feel consumer pressure to Buy American. The government will gain more than enough tax revenue.
  7. Well get the right folks to invest into it. Clean Energy is huge, but not everything. We need to be more efficient. And the real money for small business is hard goods. I looked at Home Depot today and everything is made in China as well. The loss of so much industry should be considered a National Disaster. A buddy of mine in the Department of Defense told me they got a crate full of new computers. All of them made in China. He was completely shocked. I am not.
  8. When I was a boy I remember my parents talking how they enjoyed listening to FDR's fireside chats. President Roosevelt had a gift of gathering families together to share the current state of our Nation. I think the key to his success was his ability to speak in words everyone could understand. FDR's Fireside Chat of December 29, 1940 Discussed the importance of American Manufacturing to our National Security. While no one would argue that we have the best fighting soldiers in the world. I would argue that we are starting to lose the ability to support our troops in a time of crisis. We must restore American manufacturing as the arsenal that preserves our Democratic Independence. It is quite amazing how history cycles the same warning signs. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=pGeXKV0zpcA
  9. The corporate number still works. I spoke with Mark Redding in the Executive department yesterday and he promised to get this resolved. I spoke with Mark again today and he forgot who I was. He explained that he get hundreds of calls a day. After I explained who I was he told me that Sal Tedesco 212-321-8462 was handling the problem. I spoke with Sal Tedesco and he stated that this has gone to the escalation department. I asked him who in the escalation department? He responded it is a team effort. That I would be getting a call back today. We will see.
  10. I spoke with Marta Onila collections today at 908-717-063 and told her that she is just passing the buck to another department. I asked to speak with her Manager. She refused and starting a yelling match with me. She stated that I did not know what she went through to find out the problem. I asked her where she found out the information. She refused and stated that there is no reason for me to know. I asked again to speak with her Manager. Marta stated that her manager would just transfer me over to the Sales Department to resolve this. In the end she promised to stay on the line with me until this was resolved. Ernie Smith incoming sales office call center at Chesapeake, VA told Marta that there is no supervisor available. Ernie asked for my number and stated that a sales supervisor in his department would call me back within 3 hours.
  11. Ok one of my staff spoke with Marta and she stated that our Verizon account is billed under 2 accounts, Date and Voice. To make matters worse, Verizon is charging us $300 plus every month. That is way over what we agreed to. The Data, which is billed to AMEX, is roughly $108.95 and has a zero balance. The Voice, has not been paid automatically. This bill received a last payment of $475 in May. Amount do from last payment $139.77 We were charged $243.43 on July 13, 2010. We were charged $187.87 on August 13, 2010. We were charged $193.60 on September 13, 2010. Our total bill is now $764.67 Marta did not know why and could not change our account to be billed under one monthly charge like we were told. Our monthly charges with these 2 charges are MORE than what we were paying before. We were told that the monthly expense would be significantly less. Are we signed up for anything we shouldn't? Was there a trial period? Why were we misled or flat out lied to.
  12. If you play with fire you'll get burnt
  13. Here is a link to a very informative video about the role that rare earth elements in the global economy. China is hoarding nickel and oil as well.
  14. One more thing... One factory worker told me that the British Government has private enterprise grants that give money to companies on condition that they prove it will hire more employees and actually do so. GREAT IDEA Why not meet the Democrats half way on giving tax breaks to those under 500 k? So only money after 500 k gets taxed. In addition, all investments that are American Manufacturers should be given a tax credit. And for the love of American Business Owners do not itemize goods under $600.00. We need to entice business investment to the United States.
  15. Blue Dogs, Red Dogs, Hot Dogs, etc... We need to Forget the Party Brand name and elect people that will serve the working class. I spoke with about a half dozen American factory workers the other day. They are great people that we should be talking to. They had a wonderful working relationship with their owner. It was one big family. It is their story we should be listening to. I learned how they just got a big piece of machinery from an equipment auction of a factory that recently moved production to China. Over 6,000 American workers lost their jobs. They hit hard times, but things are really starting to move along. They are getting a burst of orders. There is opportunity. They also told me how companies are making prototypes and a small amount of goods here, but most of the detail work is going to China. I believe we need our leadership coming from American Factory Owners that have stood the test of time. We need leadership that understands the machinery that defends us, needs to be produced in the home front. We need leadership that understands how to strategically use our resources that will give us an overall advantage over any foreign adversary. Our ancestors created the technology of the American Assembly line. Now the concepts are given away to our foreign competitors. Most of that technology is not coming back. No factory equals no reason to train individuals on that particular technology. Imagine China making our tanks, missiles, and planes. No offense to the great people of China, but I am not party to that type of thinking.
  16. I wonder if other states will follow Ohio's ban? http://governor.ohio...aspx?tabid=1793 Governor Sends Letter to U.S. Trade Rep. Regarding Ban on Outsourcing Columbus,Ohio--Ohio Governor Ted Strickland today sent a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk to defend his commitment to insourcing jobswhen the State of Ohio purchases services. Several government officials and trade association leaders in India have objected toStrickland's ban on the expenditure of public funds for servicesprovided offshore. Indian government officials have pledged to raise their objections to Ohio'soutsourcing ban during meetings with Ambassador Kirk this week. "Several government officials in India have objected to my commitment to insource jobs when the State of Ohio purchases services. They have every right to try to wrestle even more American jobs away from us. But I'll tell you this, we have every right to say no," Strickland said. "In fact, we have an obligation to say no. Because I believe that when you ask American taxpayers to fund economic development, every single dollar and every single job should stay in America. Indian officials call that protectionism. I call it common sense. And let me ask those crying foul where they spend their economic development dollars? They surely don't send them over here." Full text of the governor's letter to Ambassador Kirk is below: September 21, 2010 The Honorable Ron Kirk Office of the United States Trade Representative 600 17th Street NW Washington, DC 20508 Dear Ambassador Kirk: Iwrite today because I understand that this week at the U.S.-India TradePolicy Forum in Washington, Indian officials intend to object to myactions to insource jobs when the State of Ohio purchases services. The issue may also come up when India's Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao sits down this week with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in advance of President Obama's November visit to India. Therefore,I want to take this opportunity to very clearly state the nature andpurpose of Ohio's policy. My Executive Order prohibits any State ofOhio cabinet agency, board, or commission from signing a contract that uses funds it controls to purchase services outsourced to other countries. Quite frankly, in my view, there is no need to go across the globe to buy services that can be readily provided in Ohio or inthe United States. While they have objected to my actions, Indian officials have admitted theydo not have a case in the World Trade Organization because my Executive Order does not violate any trade agreement with them. We make things in Ohio. So we are very well aware of the importance of trade and we highly value our trading partners. After suffering the full brunt of the global recession, Ohio now leads the 50 states in manufacturing job growth and has the sixth-fastest growing economy in the U.S. Of course, exports have helped fuel that growth. Ohio firms sold $381 million in goods, principally machinery, aircraft, and medical equipment, to Indian markets last year. We have also successfully worked with Indian firms to grow their businesses within the United States. In fact, Tata Consultancy Services built its North American headquarters right here in Ohio. Ohio is open for business. We believe in fair trade here, and we know that both our countries benefit from it. But let me say this as well -- noone in India, or anywhere else, is going to tell the citizens of Ohio where we can create jobs or how we can spend our resources. I hope this statement of our position is helpful to you as you talk with Indian officials this week. Respectfully, Ted Strickland
  17. I just want to understand why the Republicans or Tea Party does not support American manufacturing. This is the most important issue in our country. How are we going to pay bills or taxes with no jobs. I was with the GOP on Health care. But, they are losing me by not have solutions to their own pledge http://thehill.com/b...security-reform
  18. I think the management of sour state of economy is first on the list. Do we want a one-citizen, one-vote economy? Or, do we want a one-dollar, one-vote economy? How much should we really give to our public servants for managing our affairs? Do any of them deserve six or seven figures? I have read through numerous sources that each United States citizen is in financial debt $75,000 to our creditors. I have read that the Federal Reserve controls the value of our currency to foreign banks. Where did all our gold go? How much interest have we made? Don't look at just one candidate from one party. Look for candidates in all parties. Look for the candidate that can clearly state a real solution to our problems that you can understand. A candidate should not incite, endorse, or be part of public slander. No isms. No witch hunts. A candidate should be up-to-date on current affairs and the state of our Nation. If you can't respect your opponent, you show no respect for yourself.
  19. This game was heartbreaker.
  20. I love election time. It is funny what both sides will do stir attention. I do not follow Mrs. O'Donnell, so I cannot say whether she is a good or bad candidate. I do think what her voting positions are is more important.
  21. Edison 2 just did an event in Washington for the X prize. 102 miles per gallon. If the auto industry started thinking that way we could become an oil export nation. Gas is still the most efficient source of energy. We just have to harness it correctly.
  22. Why isn't Congress promising other areas? Like the Parks and Recreation? Mostly all goods sold in National Park Gift Shops are Not made in the USA.
  23. I think it was just bad coaching on the Cowboys Bench. Jason Garrett had a mental meltdown with all the looks Jim Haslett gave him.
  24. I am going to ask both my accountant and banker what they this about this issue. Will it take more time? I think Yes, but I could be wrong. Will it cost me more? Again, I think Yes. I pretty sure that I am right.
  25. Is your bank in New Zealand (NZ) recognized by United States Federal Reserve? Is your bank publicly financially backed?
