Newshounds.us reported that Kevin Zeese said that we need an inquiry in order to find out more. He thinks there is enough evidence at this point for a resolution of inquiry, a prelude to impeachment. He said only one congressperson is needed to make the resolution. He also said that we are starting to see Republicans like Walter Jones, from North Carolina, who coined the term "freedom fries" in the capital cafeteria, now saying Bush misled us into war. See photo below. I contacted Congressman Walter B. Jones office about the Kevin Zeese statement. I was told the story was innacurate. Congressman Jones is NOT calling on or supporting any efforts to impeach President Bush. In fact he was on his steering committee last election and supports the President. The Congressman's primary concerns about Iraq have to do with our men and women in uniform and their families. He represents a military district that includes Camp Lejeune, where many of the Marines were stationed before Iraq. Because of that military connection, he has been seeing the families of those who have lost a loved one up close and personal. He has signed over 1,200 letters to the families of those who have lost a loved one in Iraq or Afghanistan, and as more letters pile up he cannot help but hope for an end to the losses. Despite some of the freedom fries, political talk that's out there, Congressman Jones statements stems from his concern for our men and women in uniform. Like many others, the intelligence failure on WMD is a great concern for him. Again, he does not blame the President for his decision on the war, because he made a judgment call based upon the same faulty intel that he himself used in deciding how to cast his vote.

The EDA is an Agency of the European Union. High Representative Solana is Head of the Agency, chairman of the Steering Board, which acts under the Council's authority and within the framework of guidelines issued by the Council. The European Defence Agency (EDA) was established by the Council on 12 July 2004. It is designed "to support the Member States in their effort to improve European defence capabilities in the field of crisis management and to sustain the ESDP as it stands now and develops in the future". More specifically, the Agency is ascribed four functions, relating to: a. defence capabilities development; b. armaments cooperation; c. the European defence technological and industrial base and defence equipment market; d. research and technology. These functions all relate to improving Europe's defence performance, by promoting coherence in place of fragmentation.

The new Financial Framework should provide the financial means necessary to address effectively and equitably future internal and external challenges, including those resulting from disparities in the levels of development in an enlarged Union. It should, in parallel, attest to determined efforts towards budgetary discipline in all policy areas within a general context of budgetary consolidation in the Member States. Policies agreed in accordance with the Treaty should be consistent with the principles of subsidiarity, proportionality and solidarity. They should also provide added value. The new financial perspective should cover the seven years between 2007 and 2013 and be drawn up for a European Union comprising 27 Member States on the working assumption that Bulgaria and Romania will join the Union in 2007. The current financial framework and Interinstitutional Agreement have largely succeeded in their objective of ensuring financial discipline, the orderly evolution of expenditure and smooth budgetary procedures. The new agreement to be established between EP, Council and Commission will have to pursue the same objectives and should allow for the degree of flexibility needed to strike a satisfactory balance between budgetary discipline and efficient resources allocation. There will be a concentration of structural and cohesion fund assistance on the least developed regions and Member States while providing for satisfactory transitional arrangements in particular for those contributing most to such a concentration. Actions supported by cohesion policy should be focussed on investment in a limited number of priorities organised around three Objectives: Convergence; Regional competitiveness and employment; Territorial cooperation.

The identity of Deep Throat, the whistleblower who guided the Washington Post reporters, Woodward and Bernstein, as they uncovered the Watergate scandal, is described by THE TIMES as having been "one of the greatest political and journalistic mysteries of modern times". The extent of the coverage this morning of Mark Felt's confession that he was the source is testimony to our lasting fascination with the episode. THE TELEGRAPH says that, until now, Deep Throat was "the most famous anonymous person in American history". THE GUARDIAN admires the two reporters' long-standing determination not to name their source, and feels "a slight pang of disappointment" the mystery has been solved at last. Sir Peter Ramsbotham's views are released under British secrecy rules as former FBI deputy head W. Mark Felt has revealed that he is "Deep Throat", the legendary source -- named after a popular **homework** film of the day -- who leaked the information that toppled the administration. President Bush said on Wednesday the disclosure that the former No. 2 official at the FBI was Watergate's "Deep Throat" source caught him by surprise and he's anxious to learn more details about his relationship with the news media. "It's hard for me to judge" whether former deputy FBI Director Mark Felt provided a valuable public service or acted improperly, Bush told reporters. "I'm learning more about the situation," he said. Felt's revelation that he was the source for The Washington Post's reporting that helped to bring down the presidency of Richard Nixon in the early 1970s "caught me by surprise," Bush said. "It's a brand new story for a lot of us who have been wondering for a long time who he was." "For those of us who grew up -- got out of college in the late '60s -- the Watergate story was a relevant story. And a lot of us have always wondered who Deep Throat might have been. And the mystery was solved yesterday," said Bush, 58. "It's a brand new story." "I'm looking forward to reading about it, reading about his relationship with the news media," Bush said.

An American military inquiry has uncovered five instances in which guards or interrogators at the Guantánamo Bay detention facility in Cuba mishandled the Koran, but found "no credible evidence" to substantiate claims that it was ever flushed down a toilet, the chief of the investigation said on Thursday. I'd like you to know that we have found no credible evidence that a member of the Joint Task Force at Guantánamo Bay ever flushed a Koran down a toilet," General Hood said in a Pentagon news briefing.

I actually think Adams Morgan is great place to live. They have a great Art and Entertainment scene. The income level is moving comparably with New York. If you are used to living in the city, then you will have no problem. I am willing to bet you make some great friends as well.

The "nuclear option" is an expression used in American politics in 2005 referring to a proposed change in the interpretation of the rules of the U.S. Senate. The new interpretation would allow a simple majority of Senators present and voting to end any filibuster blocking a judicial nomination. Under current Senate rules, a vote of three-fifths of the total membership of the Senate is required to break the filibuster (this is called a cloture motion). Once a filibuster has ended, a direct up-or-down vote on a judicial nomination can take place.

The premiere of "Stars Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" is just hours away and for some weary D.C.-area fans it can't come soon enough. At midnight, the movie will be shown at the Uptown Theatre on Connecticut Avenue in northwest Washington where dozens of die-hard fans have been camped out for days. just-released report by outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas estimates that American businesses will suffer as much as $627 million in lost productivity because of "Star Wars"-induced absenteeism Thursday and Friday, the first two days the film is in release, based on estimated attendance by people who should be at work. The amount lost includes projected lost wages and paid sick leave. James Pedderson, director of public relations for the Chicago-based firm, said high-tech companies and computer retailers could be the ones seeing the biggest absenteeism, based on the most rabid "Star Wars" fan base that includes "technology-oriented people." On the other side of the ledger, the film also has positive benefits for the U.S. economy, including increased consumer spending on movie tickets and movie snacks, as well as increased business for the shops and restaurants near the theaters. Representatives of local high-tech and defense companies generally were reluctant to discuss the issue.

"The GLOBCOVER project, started by the European Space Agency (ESA), has a very simple goal. It will create the most detailed portrait of the Earth's land surface with a resolution three times sharper than any previous satellite map. The image acquisition will be done throughout 2005 and use the Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) instrument of the Envisat environmental satellite. To create this sharp map, the GLOBCOVER project will analyze about 20 terabytes of data gathered by the European satellite. When it's completed, the map will have numerous uses, 'including plotting worldwide land use trends, studying natural and managed ecosystems and modelling climate change extent and impacts.'" http://www.esa.int/esaEO/SEMGSY2IU7E_index_0.html

A filibuster is a process, typically an extremely long speech, that is used primarily to stall the legislative process and thus derail a particular piece of legislation, rather than to make a particular point in the content of the diversion per se. The term first came into use in the United States Senate, where senate rules permit a senator, or a series of senators, to speak for as long as they wish and on any topic they choose. The term comes from the early 19th century Spanish and Portuguese

Since its establishment on May 1, 1959, the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. has played a major role in space and Earth science research. Goddard’s fundamental mission is to expand knowledge of the Earth and its environment, the solar system and the universe through observations from space. Goddard has been instrumental in making observations of our terrestrial sphere and the observable universe. Goddard also is committed to the advancement of essential technologies. Goddard scientists and engineers have pushed the edge of the envelope in sensor, instrument, satellite, and mission design and implementation. Orbiting Astronomical Observatory (OAO) OAO-2, which was launched in December 1968, determined properties of interstellar dust and hot stars in the Milky Way, and gathered basic information on comets. OAO-3 followed three years later. OAO-3 reached farther into the ultraviolet region than its predecessors and provided data on physical conditions in the interstellar gas.

I appreciate your posts human. They give a better definition on what is really going on out there. In my opinion, the media is taking a rest too. I guess human interest stories about a girl skipping out of her wedding, and celebrity trial outcomes are what get's the nod. I am dedicating my personal time to waking people up.
