MissGloverPark Posted January 4, 2006 Report Share Posted January 4, 2006 According to the records of the United States Department of Justice and at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia Jonathan Rees was responsible for the United States Department of Justice bringing a civil rights action against a local real estate company in DC named Daro Realty. Daro Realty is a company located on Connecticut Ave, NW in the Van Ness area that owns a good number of upscale apartment communities along Connecticut Avenue, Massachusetts Ave and Cathedral Ave. In the late 1980 s and early 1990 s, Byron Christianson then CEO of Daro Realty had an unspoken policy but instructed all of his resident managers not to rent apartments to anyone that they thought were or they knew to be.................... GAY. This fact was brought to Jonathan Rees attention whereby he took that information and the people who had informed him of such to a Ms. Diane Dorfman, an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division - Fair Housing Section whereby Jonathan Rees went forward to sting Byron Christianson into admitting that Daro Realty makes it an unwritten policy not to rent to............. GAYS. Once Jonathan Rees got Byron Christianson to admit to such on tape, the U.S. Department of Justice took over, filed a civil rights action against Daro Realty and Byron Christianson and they settled out of court. THIS CASE IS ON FILE AT THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT IN DC..... This is just one case where Jonathan Rees defended the rights of Gays on record. Sam Brooks has never done a thing for Gay people other than shoot off his mouth and through his phony screen names accused Jonathan Rees of anti gay crap but that is just one of the many lies Sam Brooks has been telling. The public record is replete of the good works of Jonathan Rees and what he has done and Sam Brooks is just jealous of him because Sam Brooks has not done a damn thing for the GAY COMMUNITY other than vomit a lot of meaningless words! Jonathan Rees does have a lenghty history of standing up for African Americans, Gays, Hispanics and Women and Sam Brooks has none of this. I think Sam Brooks is just jealous of all that Jonathan Rees has done as he has nothing like Rees to offer voters but just his words but that is due to an age difference. Nevertheless, nobody has ever spoken of all the good Jonathan Rees is on record of doing but cannot show us a single thing that Sam Brooks ever did for African Americans, Gays, Hispanics or women. As for this DCIst Martin, I respectfully argue that Martin has a bias in favor of Brooks as Martin has done several stories on Brooks but never one on Rees or the other candidates although he has had an opportunity to do such which says to me he is a bit biased in his reporting.
