spa2440 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2005 You may find good ones in downtown or Georgetown salons. Red Doors are better known for their spa services. The professionals get 30% commission which is less than what most top-notch stylists earn. So they may not keep best ones for long unless they are partial owners. Toka in Georgetown usually is good. There are always some good looking Italian guys in watergate. Evolve on M St. is new and they are the artists. The salon by Park Hyatt (1201 24th St.) does good hair cut for some high powered clients who need to look their best on the hill.

Guest dri Report post Posted July 13, 2005 I went to Evolve on M St the other week because of the post above - it was terrible! Guy on the phone was so unfriendly I almost didn't go - wish I didn't. They gave me a half head of highlights for the price of a full head elsewhere (never asked me and I was too busy reading to notice), and the stylist cut my hair unevenly (visibly unevenly). I'm really upset but have been travelling ever since so didn't have the chance to go back and get it corrected.

She just moved to DC from Los Angeles and she is a color correction specialist. She was so nice and passionate about her work, and so knowledgable. It makes sense why my hair has been sooo trashed. She gave me quite an education. i will never stray. she is top knotch. I go to Rodney for my cut. He is also wonderful. The salon is a bit crazy-but with this duo-I would sit in the middle of the metro to have my hair done by them.

She is now in Old town at the sugar house. My locks were really missing her touch. She revamped my color after her absence and they look fab once again !
