Why do you think Councilwoman Mary Cheh now boasts about her membership in PFLAG? Didn’t Mary Cheh publicly state during the ward 3 campaign that GLBT issues would not be something she would promote if elected, that it was not an issue in the 2006 elections and that she was not a member of any GLBT organization? Yes she did! Just like Mayor Fenty who never told us until after he was elected that he wanted to take over our schools, Mary Cheh did not tell us that she was a member of PFLAG because one of her daughters is a lesbian and that she would seek full marriage rights for GLBT people. The fact that Mary Cheh has a lesbian daughter is not the issue, but the fact that she lied to voters again about herself and what she would or would not do if elected is. Mary Cheh has told a lot of lies to voters and people are starting to catch on. Does Mary Cheh know what the truth is? Does Mary Cheh know how to be honesty to others? In other words, I did not make it an issue, she did and I am just expounding on it.
