Angela, I may have no proof but I believe these various names are who I say they are as Sam Brooks is well known for his dirty tricks and he did this before and nobody else has a reason. My husband who is far more in touch with local politics says that I am probably 90% right as this is not the first online war Sam Brooks started or had a role in and he has had many enemies and it is just a question of researching and talking to others. Brooks online war is an act of desparation that only candidates engage in when they chose to attack the others or any one they fear the most. I am confident the other candidates will out shine this little trouble maker.

It could be that all of these various screen names could be Sam Brooks pretending to be himself, his friends and pretending to be Jonathan Rees and his friends to make all of us believe this nonsense. or it could be Jonathan Rees being all of these characters to make us believe the same. The point is, nobody reading this stuff here or on any message board should ever believe that it is being posted by who others tell us is doing it because if we fall for it then we are dumber than them.

My husband is a IT professional so I ask him questions and he gives me simple answers whereby I convey them the best I can. Jonathan Rees son Jason Rees who pops up here now and then does not live in the USA but in Karlstad, Sweden as his address listed there is Horsensgatan 150: 3tr., Karlstad, Sweden which anybody can look up via MSN. So nobody can say that Jonathan Rees is using his son s computer to bypass the block by DC Pages.

Proof that Sam Brooks is the nut case posting all of this crap and lying to us that Rees is the person behind all of these names I have learned is not true. I heard that the moderator Luke blocked Rees weeks ago. So Sam now needs to explain to all of us why his sick mind under all his aliases BFrankdc, Truthseeker and the like keep on insisting Rees is doing all he says when Rees was knocked off DC Pages and has been blocked. This is your modus operandi in that anybody Sam who does not agree with you is automatically Rees. This is a sick thing as I believe that the administrator of DC pages blocked Rees addresses and he is not posting anything here or can get on so your argument is weak and you may have been ignorant of the fact that administrator blocked him weeks ago! I am not Rees so why are you asking people to see that Rees is not focusing when he is not here and I am not him. This is stupid. I cannot speak on any issue for any of the candidates as I am not them nor authorized to do so. I fail to see any of the candidates here expressing their view on any issue and there may be a reason for that and you need to ask them why..............!

I think four of the candidates have a lenghty record of where they stand on key issues of concern and you need to spend some time research that sir.

Most of the issues of concern to District residents are now being addressed by our council. Our ward candidates are on public record of supporting more or less the same thing and their only differences is the way they want to go about achieving things. Yeah, I do agree that Sam Brooks is a lazy bum, everything he posts on his site has been copied from others and nothing is his own doing and I also think that Jonathan Rees is a lot smarter than him but at the same time, I think that he needs to explain why he has kept Sam Brooks out of the meetings between the various candidates and what his motive is for that. As a matter of fact, I spoke to two of the other candidates and they too are not interested in dealing with Sam Brooks and called him an opportunist who would run back to ward 2 tomorrow and run there if Jack Evans would resign over his current financial woes. There is just this negativism against Sam Brooks and his having jumped into our ward will probably be made an issue by the other candidates and media.

Unless you have clear proof who posted something, you have no evidence. I could go to another email provider, start a phony account and come here and post something and make it look it it is you or anybody I want. Nothing you say anybody has posted can be proven to be true the way this dumb internet is structured. Give me a signed letter, audio or something that is verifiable then I will believe it but until then, nobody even knows who you really are and that supports my argument you are Sam Brooks until you can prove to all you are not! I know nothing about campaigning as I have never run for office but it seems to me that Fenty and Rees began at the same time and my street had many of Fenty s handbills lying on the ground. Are you suggesting that Fenty too was too early?

Excuse me but when I scrolled back, Jonathan Rees did exactly what I said and that was to post notice of his candidacy and his website and then you and other went after him plain and simple. You cannot erase what he did nd what you did in response but that was when you were Frank B not B Frank.

DC politics is boring at best and the only time it can be worth looking at is when someone F...up! So this amusing battle between what I suspect is not the actual candidates but their loyalists is fun as it gives all of us something to laugh at. I believe that Sam Brooks is behind most of these aliases going after Jonathan Rees merely to get some name recognition; Jonathan Rees is allowing his loyalists to tie Sam Brooks up here online while his army of Hispanic distributors are out on the streets day after day reaching more people than Sam Brooks does and all of this may be something that goes far beyond what it appears to be to us. What I am saying is, all of this may just be a part of their campaign strategy and they both have us believing this is a real feud when in fact it is a ploy to achieve something else. I do not know much about Sam Brooks but I do know that Jonathan Rees has a reputation of being a good marketer of ideas and that unknown to most, he was the quasi paralegal behind the scenes hired by R. Kenneth Mundy when Mundy defended Marion Barry in that criminal case where Jonathan Rees is said to have come up with the idea of attacking the credibility of the government s witnesses and getting the evidence for the defense. I would put nothing past these two politicos. Anybody think I might be right?

Martin, If you look back a few months ago here on DC Pages what you will see is this: 1. Jonathan Rees announced his candidacy and directed people to his website as he did on many boards; 2. Bfrankdc then calling himself Frank B and JT Frank began assaulting Jonathan Rees without provocation and has never stopped; 3. That nobody every jumped on Jonathan Rees for his online postings until about five days after Sam Brooks announced his candidacy; 4. Jonathan Rees and his friends struck back; and 5. This is where it began and where it has led us. Jonathan Rees did not start this mudslinging but Sam Brooks under his many aliases did just as he did for a brief time back when he ran against Brown and Brazil. Sam Brooks is no stranger to online assaults against his rivals. I think if Sam Brooks and his aliases stop then all of this would end. I am not taking Jonathan Rees side but the record speaks for itself and he did not start this but Sam Brooks did. Sam Brooks used several FRANK names in 2004 on assaults against Harold Brazil and this is probably why everyone says any screen name of FRANK is Sam Brooks rearing his ugly head.

Martin, If I may put my two cents worth in, I think if you examine the writing style of Sam Brooks to Bfrankdc, Truthseeker and a few others here, you will see what some of us do. I think what is really happening here is that loyalists to both camps are the people behind this online crap but the candidates are not directly involved but MAYBE are having other real people acting as their alter ego or actually posting for them under their screen name. I think Ms. Brannon is trying to lead us to getting down to issues but everybody else wants to continue this pissing contest.

Martin, You may be right but if you had heard the discussion between Williams and Fenty on WTOP then you would have to admit that the way Fenty spoke, he sounded like he had taken the money but gave it back. Possibly it was a poor choice of words he used but what he said was what it sounded like.

Martin Austermuhle, Editor-in-Chief, DCist.com has just posted confirmation of what all had said that Fenty did steal money from elderly residents and there was a fight on the WTOP radio over it. This story was in the Post a few months back. Apparently, Fenty did not represent the interests of an elderly client he was charged with serving, but admitted guilt and paid required fines. Sam you have posted on so many boards and under so many screen names you cannot remember what you did and when but I think you are wearing yourself thin and I may be a blowhard but at least I am not blowing guys in the bathroom of the Greyhound station to get votes like you do.

Bfrankdc when posting always is caught using a different IP address and in another forum, the forum host said that he believes that Bfrankdc and other similar names like JT Frank and Frank B are the same person because they were often posting under an IP address out of upstate NY offered by Cable Vision as he does here and then his IP address shifts to a company in California, then to Virginia and all around but never from the same one. The other forum host said that Bfrankdc or whatever other name his wants to use is hiding behind a proxy address so you cannot trace the postings to one IP address. On DC Pages, Bfrankdc is using a IP address for a service that is not offered anywhere in the Metro DC area and if you track all of Bfrankdc s postings, you will see this happen. THE OTHER CANDIDATES ARE BEING HARASSED IN OTHER FORUMS BY SOME OF THESE SAM BROOKS ALIASES
