Luke, I was referring specifically to the DC Politics Board. I know there are other areas of DCPages that generate significant traffic and discussion. I was focusing on discussion about DC Politics. I am basing my observation having been active on this specific forum since about November. If you remove the rees/rees alias posts, there are very few people that use this specific forum, as compared to other blogs and listserves: bfrankdc truthseeker factchecker2 aglue golden girl Human Jim Bob Summersgill Martin Austermuhle Luke Wilbur Just about all of the other "posters" are Jonathan Rees. This is the same editor of the same article you copied and put under car windshields all over the ward touting your campaign? So they have credibility in uttering one sentence that you have been pimping all over the ward and on the internet, but have lost credibility due to some unknown conspiracy? I think you are the one without credibility. B. Frank -

Not to belittle DC Pages, but really, there are like 10 people posting here (not counting the various Rees aliases). I have enjoyed being in this forum, and will continue to be on it after the elections this fall. But Human, really, if you think this website is the main place "to be" for discussion about DC, your view, in my opinion, of the internet is very limited. This is a very nice site, but there are countless others out there where real discussion about DC, DC Politics, etc take place with hundreds, if not thousands of contributors daily. The only thing that makes this place unique is that it is one of a very small handful where Jonathan Rees hasn't been banned (althougn several of his aliases have)...Rees is allowed to continue to come here and spew forth. Oh, and I am not Martin Austermuhle. He is a much better writer than I will ever be. B. Frank -

Why are you referring to Rees in the third person? I am very confused by this post. did you mean to use a different alias? B. Frank -
I am sure Tom Knott of the Washington Times would be thrilled to talk to Ms. Roque. I would think Ms. Roque would also want to let the Washington Post know she is real as well, since they called her a fictional character. B. Frank

Still, the Virginia finances are deteriortating, whereas DC's financial state is currently very solid. Yes, the AIDS rate in DC is tragic and horrendous, but it is getting worse in Virginia, as is Gang activity and other social maladies. I do not know about younger guys selling themselves in the Gay community, or who/where you are quoting. But doesn't that happen in the heterosexual community as well? Aren't there brothels in Virginia? Aren't there gay people in Virginia? it isn't like the State is a panacea for White straight males. (it doesn't make it right, but even if it is happening in the District, i would guess it is also happening in your White Castle of Virginia). I will let Rees's record on Gays speak for itself. Suffice it to say, he has serious psychological issues and issues with his latent (or not so latent) sexuality. His words in this forum, posted elsewhere, and emailed to the media speak volumes. That is why the InTowner made a point of mentioning him in their editorial this month. B. Frank -

Human, I would submit that the city has its dysfunction, but it is on much better ground today than it was 10 years ago. It certainly doesn't need the likes of someone like Jonathan Rees to help take us back to the dark ages, sociallly and fiscally. By the way, how are those AIDS rates doing in your State of Virginia? How is your state's fiscal condition? Seen any new taxes recently? Please don't start throwing stones at glass houses. B. Frank -
In the August, 2006 edition: We cannot say the same about the most vocal and in-your-face angry candidate, Jonathan Rees. He has so absolutely polarized everyone he has come into contact with, has become infamous for his over-the-top rants, his personal character attacks on individuals who disagree with him, and worse that we fear his presence on the Council could completely destroy any hope for continued collegiality which is essential if it is to function effectively. Um, as a former paralegal, I am sure you know that there is a case number associated with the cases you mentioned earlier. If you provide those numbers, then they can be reserached. Failure to do so simply indicates that you are lying yet again. You are the candidate and public figure. If you don't like people researching your qualifications and background for your fitness for public office, then perhaps you shouldn't be a candidate. B. Frank

Speaking of Thelma Roque, Tom Knott thinks her endorsement is very important! http://washtimes.com/metro/20060809-110536-9744r.htm B. Frank

Ok Jonathan, what are the citations for the three cases you reference below? B. Frank

Human, Try looking at any of the postings here which list the various lawsuits with which Rees has been involved. Do you mean to tell me that you do not understand that this person craves the attention being in a lawsuit yields? He will not insitigate a lawsuit because he bascially cannot in the District of Columbia. However, if someone sues him, it is a different matter. B. Frank

Luke, I believe the post in question is here: http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/citydes...eet-lt-roy.html ____________________________________ At 5:45 PM, Anonymous said... DC PAGES allows Rees to lodge massive attack on Bob Summersgill. Luke Wilbur the chief moderator invited Rees to post again on DC Pages his scathing attack on Bob Summersgill over his pedophilia type behavior. I guess DC PAGES is clearly not a fan of Bob Summersgill or the GLAA by the looks of them openning the door to Rees. _____________________________________ At 4:21 PM, Jonathan R. Rees said... Luke Wilbur in fact invited me to post again with DC Pages but he did not say what I could or could not post. Yet, nothing is posted by DC Pages now without approval of a moderator so what I posted had to first be approved. _________________________________________ At 4:53 PM, Jonathan R. Rees said... NOt lying. Each time I post, I get a message saying must first be approved by moderator. __________________________________________ At 7:16 PM, Jonathan R. Rees said... Luke said he would let me post but all my postings would have to first be approved by a moderator before being posted. Ask him this in an open posting and see what he says. __________________________________________ Better get there quick, because unlike some places, the City Desk deletes offensive and off topic messages. There are two differernt debates/forum here. One is the environmental forum which, according to their website/email blast, Rees responded affirmatively that he will attend. That is what I posted above. If he isn't, but told them he was (just like he did in March), then it simply makes him look for foolish than he already is. http://www.dcmessageboards.com/index.php?showtopic=8250 http://www.dcmessageboards.com/index.php?showtopic=8262 It also shows major disrespect to the sponsoring organizations and the voters. The other event is a radio forum. If he doesn't want to go, that is his choice. It is the WREN one however, where they have advertised his presense which is an issue. B. Frank -

Why do you care since you are not able to win any endorcements from any credible organizations? By the way, a friend told me about receiving a Rees flyer in an envelope on her windshield. Those envelopes you are stuffing your flyers in cost money. So does the paper. I am guessing you are over the $500 waiver you signed as a cap for spending on your "campaign". B. Frank -

So why did you respond that you were going to attend? You lied to these folks only to stiff them? Why not just tell them you are not going to attend? It is an insult to the voters for you to avoid answering the questions of the voters and the questions of the folks sponsoring the forum which you have apparently indicated you would attend. See, you are a liar and do not care about voters and residents you claim to want to represent. This is part of what makes you unfit for office. B. Frank -

That is a question for Mr. Rees, since he is the one who impersonated both Officer Magana here and both he and Officer Espinal on DCist. I highly doubt any of the posters here, including me, even knew there was a Lation Liason Unit. B. Frank -

I understand that the Stein democrats have, on procedural grounds, rescinded the endorsement of Mendelson. Did they give an endorsement for Ward 3? B. Frank -

Over the course of 10 to 12 months, Candidate Jonathan Rees and various "supporters" have appeared on several internet forums. I am curious as to why none of these supporters were signatories on Candidate Jonathan Rees's petition to be on the DC Democratic Primary Ballot on September 12th? There is (to cite a few): Pamela (pj20007@yahoo.com) Tenleytown Listserve post 3884 Kathleen H. Roddy (kathleenroddy@yahoo.com) Tenleytown Listserve post 2954 Nichole Sherry Dixon (nikkidix2002@yahoo.com) Tenleytown Listserve post 2909 Alex Biddy (alexbiddy@yahoo.com) Glover Park post 257 Harry Firestone (harry_firestone@yahoo.com) Glover Park post 248 (In the post above by "Harry", he claims to have brought 35 people together to sign the petition) lg_loomis (lg_loomis@yahoo.com), ward3dc post 260 Ms. Thelma Cumes (cumes_dc@yahoo.com) Ward3dc post 105 Joan Betts (http://www.dcmessageboards.com/index.php?showtopic=7578) "Pam"/Pebbles Johnson (http://www.dcmessageboards.com/index.php?showtopic=7493) "missgloverpark" (http://www.dcmessageboards.com/index.php?showtopic=7438) aka Leona Gomez http://www.dcmessageboards.com/index.php?showtopic=7322 Angela Brannon (http://www.dcmessageboards.com/index.php?showtopic=7192) Where are all these staunch supporters who took all that time last summer, last fall, over the winter and this spring defending the great honor of Candidate Jonathan Rees? Surely if they would take the time to find out about the candidate and post on message boards in his honor, they would sign a petition on his behalf (as some claimed to have in the posts cited above).
