  1. Started the day off calling Maryland Fios Residential (410-265-0577) and spoke with Ms. Walker. After explaining the situation she simply transfered me to Nelson. Nelson - Technical Support Cyper Solution Center Provisioning on Line1 appears to be fine Nelson setup a One Point Voicemail Box for Line2 (Confirmation Number: MD00056801678 to be ready at the end of the work day tomorrow). He then stated that he had no idea how to associate Line1 to that voicemail. He then had to transfer me back to a Verizon Technician. Greg - Specialist Technician told me that this solution WOULD NOT WORK. He also stated that previous technicians who first tried to fix our issues must "have been Level-1 technicians" because their fixes never would of worked. Great! Greg is now trying to go through the Switch himself and will call me later this evening.
  2. Yesterday I called Verizon again and was told that another Switch Technician was going to fix our voicemail problem. This afternoon I received a call from Russell stating that we now need a One Point Voicemail Box for Line2 then assoiciate Line1 to that voicemail. However, to do that I need to go through the Business Office. So after a week I am being told this when our voicemail system was working fine a few months ago.
  3. After 2 hours of course the Verizon mailbox was still not ready. I then called the Technical Support team. After explaining the situation again and being put off and on hold for another hour I told the problem was fixed. By now I know this is fishy so I asked the gentleman if he would hold while I tested the number. Shocking!!! It did not work. I was then transfered to the Switch department. They said everything looked good on their side. I asked them to call our number and see for themselves the error. They did not know what was causing the mix-up other to say that it appears that it should work. Know a Switch Technician is looking into it and I have been told that the voicemail will work in 24-48 hours. EPIC FAIL VERIZON, EPIC FAIL. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE TUESDAY!!!!!
  4. Started today off by trying to call Andrew at 410-265-0577 but got someone in the Maryland Fios Residential. Joy Jenkins answered the phone and reviewed our account. Basically, we have 2 phone lines, one of which is a rollover from the first. If you call the rollover line directly customers hear our voicemail. If you call the main line and do not answer the phone, the call does rollover to the second line but DOES NOT then go to the voicemail. Customers hear a generic Verizon message where they cannot leave messages. Voicemail was not added to their Switch (Verizon term). Their technical support team (1-888-553-1555) was called and finally flipped the switch and supposedly Line 1 will start to rollover to Line 2 properly in an hour. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Line 1 is main number Line 2 is "rollover" second number On line 2 there is fucntional voicemail. If you call line 1, it will roll over to line 2 but there is no functional voicemail. If you call line 2 directly, there is functional voicemail
  5. Does anyone recommend a bar in DC to watch the Caps at during the playoffs? I know down by Verizon Center will be a good start but does anyone have a specific recommendation?
  6. McNabb is already establishing himself as the leader in the locker room for the Washington Redskins. As a life-long fan I have to be impressed by how quickly he is earning the respect of coaches and players in the organization. We haven't had a leader like this since J.Gibbs Era 1. Now we just have to figure out what to do with Fat Albert.
  7. The Washington Capitals beatdown Pittsburgh last night to sweep the season series. I am a little worried about resting our players (Mike Green) but hopefully Bruce knows what he's doing. He's gotten us this far so why doubt him now, right?
  8. The Redskins will draft an OT and did pick up two o-line guys in free agency. Other teams in the league had horrible o-lines last year (Green Bay) but their quarterbacks adjested and got rid of the ball quicker. I like Jason Campbell but he takes too much time in the pocket and has a long throwing motion.
  9. I can't believe Philly trade D. McNabb to the Redskins. This is great for many reasons. 1. It means the Redskins won't draft Jimmy Clausen (Thank GOD) 2. It means the Redskins will hopefully draft OT Russell Okung of Oklahoma State 3. McNabb has taken his team to the playoffs almost every year 4. McNabb will want to crush Philly for letting him go 5. The Redskins finally have a proven quarterback that demands respect 6. Philly will lose about 3 games more with an inexperienced quarterback
  10. Why was this Whale ever interacting with humans if this was the 3 times there was an incident???
  11. I just saw this posted on ESPN. Washington Redskins left tackle Chris Samuels could miss the rest of the season and may have to consider retirement after suffering a stinger in Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers, according to a report. The six-time Pro Bowler, who already had been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, will have the injury re-evaluated Tuesday, sources told The Washington Post. Samuels suffers from stenosis, a narrowing of the spine that causes him to wear a neck brace for extra protection when he plays, and was already dealing with significant knee pain all season, according to the paper. Coach Jim Zorn told The Post that the injury is possibly more severe than they originally thought. "I think it is concerning, because we care about his health," Zorn told The Post. "Because of the other doctors involved in trying to read this thing, it's the time that it's taking to get any answers -- that's what's hard. We just have to wait it out. "But we're going to think very positive about this situation. I think he is as well. He's got an excellent attitude towards the waiting. That's the frustrating part, is just waiting for the results."
  12. I Love You Man! - pretty funny, i would recommenf it. Haven't seen Saw V, though I was pretty sure the main 'bad guy' character died at the end of Saw III.
  13. Call it the photo seen 'round the world. It's the one that captured two southwestern Connecticut lawmakers playing solitaire on their computers in the hall of the House late Monday, at the height of the debate on the new budget. Another computer, in front of an unidentified lawmaker's seat, shows a baseball highlight. The picture, apparently depicting two House members dissing a high-ranking GOP leader, went from the front page of Connecticut newspapers to global web sites like the Drudge Report on Tuesday, an apparent symbol of legislative indifference -- and indulgence -- during the state's budget crisis. The Associated Press picture, shot from behind first-term Rep. Barbara L. Lambert, D-Milford and veteran Rep. John F. Hennessy, D-Bridgeport, features House Minority Leader Lawrence F. Cafero Jr. in the right-hand corner, gesticulating his criticism of the Democratic majority's budget, which passed the House late Monday night and the Senate early Tuesday morning. Neither Lambert nor Hennessy would apologize for their game-playing Tuesday and Cafero, R-Norwalk, didn't ask for any.
  14. Former Washington Redskin and current New York Giants LB Antonio Pierce has now stated that he has no regrets about taking Plaxico Burress unlicensed gun from the nightclub shooting on November 29, 2008. He basically said that he was simply helping his teammate out not breaking the law or trying to cover anything up. Pierce actually said that he acted reasonably, responsibly and instinctively in coming to the aid of a wounded teammate. Really? So taking a gun from a crime/shooting scene, illegally concealing a gun in your car, illegally crossing state lines with an unlicensed gun, taking your friend to the hospital and lying about his identification are all reasonable and responsible. I love how in our society today it is cool and we think highly of those who put the interest of themselves and their friends above all else. Protect your friends at the expense of your community and the ‘hood’ will respect you. Look, Pierce acted like a lot of people would but once you start picking up loaded, unlicensed guns you cross the line. Why not leave it there? Because Pierce knew that Plax shouldn’t of had it and did not want anyone to find out. I also think that the New York legal system is a joke if they are going to go after Burress for 3-1/2 years and then give Pierce a free pass. Indicting Burress for a crime and letting Pierce get off of crimes associated with the same incident seems unfair.
  15. Is it just me or do the Nationals look like a completely different team since Manny Acta was fired. I mean they still are horrible fielding the ball and they hardly ever play a complete game (offense, defense, and pitching). That said, some of our players are starting to step it up (Lannan, Zimmerman, Willingham, and Morgan) while the Nats are starting to get some timely hitting in games. I saw a stat today in the paper that stated how awful the Nationals are hitting with runners in scoring position. Seriously, they are in the bottom 3-5 teams in every offensive category whenever they have a chance to get some RBIs. I also like to see the team fighting back in games for some comeback victory's.
  16. LaVar Arrington is now the co-host of a new Sports Radio show on WJFK 106.7 FM. The show will also feature Mike Wise of the Washington Post and will be replacing the Mike O'Meara show. I think is will be fun listening to LaVar breakdown the Skins this season.
  17. IT WAS TIME FOR MANNY TO GO. THE TEAM WASN'T RESPONDING TO HIM AND FANS WERE GETTING FED UP WITH THE PRODUCT ON THE FIELD. AT SOME POINT MANNY NEEDED TO SHOW SOME FLARE AND EMOTION. I WISH HIM WELL AND DO THINK THAT ACTA WILL BE A GOOD MBL MANAGER AT SOME POINT BUT THIS TEAM HAS TOO MANY YOUNG PLAYERS THAT NEED A MANAGER TO BARK AT THEM NOT TO MENTION BACK THEM UP WITH THE UMP'S.
  18. In case you missed it, last week Washington Nationals Adam Dunn and Ryan Zimmerman both had to wear uniforms with the team name misspelled on the front. The uniforms were missing the "O" so for the first 3 innings of a game against Florida, with the jersey's reading "Natinals". Majestic Athletic president Jim Pisani stated on Tuesday at Nationals Park, "All of us at Majestic Athletic want to apologize to both the Washington Nationals and Major League Baseball for accidentally omitting the 'o' in two Nationals jerseys. We take 100 percent responsibility for this event and we regret any embarrassment for the Nationals organization, players and fans."
  19. Washington Nationals fans finally have something to cheer about - the team's first winning streak of the season. With a 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves last night the Washington bullpen pitched a great game for the second day in a row. Maybe sending all those pitchers down to the minors after a weekend full of blown leads (3-for-3 in losing games leading into the 9th inning) is finally registering with this team. Anyways, way to go Nats! Now let’s start playing at a MLB level for the rest of the year.
  20. I can't wait for the season to begin either. We had a lot of signings in the offseason and with the addition of draft picks should have a decent shot at the playoffs. The only problem is that every team in our division got better. The Redskins are loaded at certain positions with stud players but as a team we still have holes (offensive line, defensive ends???). All that being said, I am a true fan so all I can think about is a strong start and playoff run. Go Skins!
  21. The Washington Nationals lost their home opener last night to the Philadelphia Phillies 9-8. The team is now 0-7 and is the last team in baseball to earn a 1st win. Right now the team is awful. The defense has been horrible and the starting pitching rotation has been hammered. Even when the team hits the ball well (Guzman 5-5) and scores runs (Dunn, Zimmerman, and Dukes homered), Daniel Cabrera walks in runs and Anderson Hernandez botches two grounders. I thought last year was bad but this year hurts more because I thought the Washington Nationals might actually field a decent team. Now we are on our way to another 100+ loss season and with only more meaningless home runs in games we have already lost. I know I am being pretty hard on the team but there hasn't been much to cheer about except Guzman and Dukes putting up good numbers in losses.
  22. With a planned showing of a controversial pornographic movie on the University of Maryland campus, the state legislator who is trying to halt the event turned his attention to the university's capital budget, threatening an attempt to cut those funds in Annapolis. State Sen. Andrew Harris (R-Baltimore County), who last week tried to block the university's $424 million share of state operating funds over plans to screen the film at the theater in the student union, announced his new approach today. The state operating budget is now in conference committee and cannot be amended when it emerges, but debate on the capital budget could begin as early as tonight. "I know some students would like to portray this as a free speech issue," Harris said in a statement. "It is not. This is about the use of taxpayer dollars, and the Maryland General Assembly acts every day on issues concerning the use of taxpayer dollars. Just because someone is on a college campus they do not have a right to spend the hard-earned money of Maryland's taxpayers on something as detrimental to our society as hard-core XXX pornography." Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. (D-Calvert) said that he cannot control the amendments Harris introduces but said he hopes the issue will be resolved by university regents, whom Miller said should develop a policy on the kind of movies that may be shown on campus.
  23. The student union at the University of Maryland is causing a stir with plans to show a hardcore pornographic flick on campus. Students at the school's College Point campus will show "Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge" at the campus movie theater on Saturday night, according The Baltimore after receiving a free copy of the film from its distributor, Digital Playground, according to The Baltimore Sun. Critics of the plan, like Catholic Student Center chaplain Rev. Kyle Ingels, said the union’s actions are demeaning. "We're trying to promote greater respect on campus of all people, and something like a pornographic film is not contributing," Ingels told the Sun. "It's degrading to the human person." But some support the **adult material** movie screening, calling it another option over late-night drinking. "We thought this would be something fun for the students to do, especially since we're getting close to the end of the semester," Lisa Cunningham, the program coordinator for the Hoff Theater, told the paper. "We're a college movie theater and we thought it would bring out the students."
  24. Its now official, the Washington nationals signed Adam Dunn to a 2-year, $20-million dollar contract. Hopefully he can help improve last years 100+ loss team. Now the only problem is figuring out where to play him. Dunn can either play in the outfield (we already have Kearns, Willy Moe, Dukes, and Miledge) or firstbase (Nick Johnson) so someone is going to have to take a back seat for our new left handed power bat. I wonder who will get the ax???
  25. I just heard a rumor that the Washington Nationals have reached a deal with free agent Adam Dunn. If this is true, it is huge news for a team that desperately needs power in the line-up. Dunn has hit at least 40 home runs each of the past five seasons. In 1,131 games, Dunn has 278 home runs. Has anyone else heard this? Is it true? I know that one player will not fix the Nationals problems but signing a semi-high profile guy has to be a good start. Now we need to go out and sign another bat and at least two starting pitchers.
