  1. This is just what the Wizards needed. A huge victory and Gil only played a handful of minutes. This shows the team that they can beat LeBron and the rest of the Cavaliers even without their best player (this is debatable due to the season Butler is having for himself). I was afraid Washington was going to get swept but if they keep up the intensity and play like they did last night, Cleveland is in trouble. GO WIZ!!!
  2. I am not convinced that crime will increase around Union Station and the US Capitol. There is a huge police presence in that area now and I believe that the city will not let panhandling effect the area. Too many tourists, and their money, is spent around Union Station with the shops, restaurants, and hotels for the District not to take action.
  3. There is a new Photo Gallery on DCpages.com, Capitol Square and Compass Tour. This gallery features masonic images throughout Washington DC. George Washington was a Freemason (as attested by the huge Masonic Memorial that stands in his honor in Alexandria, Virginia). He commissioned fellow Mason Andrew Ellicott to be America’s first Surveyor General. Follow the square and compass path laid into the city plans of our nation's capital . It is rumored that shortly after the United States won its independence, George Washington, Major Andrew Ellicott, Pierre-Charles L'Enfant, and Benjamin Bannaker designed a secret magical compass symbol within the street layout centred on Capitol Hill. The compass is used as a tool of Masons to master the mind over the material world. Journey with us and discover Washington DC's hidden secrets.
  4. Upon furthur review, the Crowne Plaza Dulles Hotel is just outside of the Town of Herndon, so it had nothing to do with the town itself. Sorry, Stevie. Here is the phone number for the Crowne Plaza Dulles Airport along with the emails of management. Take the time to contact these people. 5. The people of Herndon should be disgusted that their town leaders would allow this conference to take place there. Skinheads, KKK, Nazi!!! Herndon itself is made up of a wide mix of races which makes this even worse. Don't let your leaders sell you out for a few bucks. I suggest contacting the Mayor and sharing your thoughts about this conference. Mayor - Stephen J. DeBenedittis Telephone: (703) 435-6804 Email: Mayor.Steve@herndon-va.gov
  6. Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd was released by the Washington Redskins, ending his disappointing stay with the team. He caught only 25 passes with no touchdowns in two seasons with the Redskins. His totals were two catches for 14 yards last season, when he broke his collarbone in November. What a bust. I can't believe we gave up 2 draft picks and gave this donkey $10 mil.
  7. Friday, February 29, 2008 (9:30 PM - 2:30 AM) Back by popular demand! KegBus will be doing trips to and from DC every Friday night from the Market Street Bar at Reston Town Center. What a great way to start your weekend - a comfortable, hassle-free ride to and from the city! KegBus departs Market Street Bar and Grill at 10 p.m. for DC, dropping off at 19th and M streets NW. To ensure your comfort along the way, we'll have the radio cranking, and as always, there is a bathroom on board. Name a cab that can offer that! These trips are BYOB, so you bring the roadies. One-way trips are also available in either direction. Enjoy drink specials at Market Street before the trip! Check in is done on the KegBus, which is parked outside Market Street by the entrance to the Hyatt. Friday Night Ride
  8. The Washington Capitals play the New York Islanders tonight is a must-win game for the Caps. After tonight the team heads to Carolina to play the first place Hurricanes. The Caps currently trail Carolina in the standings by 3 points. Alex the Great, wake up. The team needs a big game, and week for that matter, from you. The Southeast Division is so tight (weak could be another word to describe it) that a five game slide can have any team in last place.
  9. This was so funny I had to share it. View the video at YouTube.

  11. Another game winning goal (8 for the year) for Ovechkin and the Caps. I CANNOT BELIEVE THE CAPS ARE LEADING THE DIVISION WITH A GAME IN HAND!!! Bruce Boudreau should win Coach of The Year and Alexander Ovechkin has to win the Hart Trophy. PERIOD!!!

    Redskins Outlook

Someone recently informed me of an interesting fact. Each time the New York Giants have won a Super Bowl the Washington Redskins win the next one. I looked it up and sure enough, its true. Super Bowl XXI New York Giants 39 Denver Broncos 20 Super Bowl XXII Washington Redskins 42 Denver Broncos 10 Super Bowl XXV New York Giants 20 Buffalo Bills 19 Super Bowl XXV Washington Redskins 37 Buffalo Bills 24 If this holds true, the Skins should beat New England in the Super Bowl next year! Doubt that will happen with the way Snyder and his donkey have screwed up the team. Still no coach right!
  13. Another game, another quality night (and win) for Alexander the Great and the Washington Capitals! He didn't score this time but did register assists on both goals. Actually, one goal was a deflection of one of Ovechkin's slap shots while the other goal was a rebound from another shot. Can you believe it, the Washington Capitals are within a point of Southeast Division lead!

    Sean Taylor

Sean Taylor was murdered over 50 days ago (November 27). We still remember the Great 21. View the video at YouTube.
  15. Why do the CAPS get no love from DC??? None of their games sellout and they are playing some of the most exciting hockey in the entire NHL.
  16. I can't believe the Giants are going to the Super Bowl. Who would have ever thought that NY would be the team from the NFC East. And to think, the Skins had them at halftime Week 3. They were one half away from complete destruction and hopeless season. Goes to show you what one half of football will do or the effect the coaching staff has on the team. Good for them, at least Romo and Owens can cry together Super Bowl weekend knowing a team they beat twice in the regular season is playing for the championship.
  17. Joe Gibbs retired from the Washington Redskins again. As a long time Skins (and Gibbs) fan, its been a mixed bag of emotions since I heard the news. Part of me is happy. Until that late season surge, I was with the many who thought Joe should head back to NASCAR. As much as I love the legend, Gibbs did make many mental errors this year. He looked worn out and you started to get the feeling he wasn’t enjoying himself anymore. Then Sean Taylor was murdered. What a blow, not only to lose a good young man, but also your best defensive player. Everyone expected the Skins to fold but Gibbs held his players together. He did more than that though, Gibbs helped the entire team and organization become a real family and to appreciate the gift they all have. Its not often in professional sports that you see a team that grows to actually care and love each other. With teammates flying in one day and out the next, multi-million dollar contracts, cuts, etc. (the NFL is a cut-throat BUSINESS), Gibbs made something positive and meaningful to his players in the wake of a tragic loss. I’m not sure any other coach could have done such a good job as both coach and mentor to these Washington Redskins players. Then I also remembered that the Skins made the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years. When was the last time that happened, right? For all his faults Gibbs brought the organization back into the fold. He at least won a playoff game. I know it wasn’t the Super Bowl he wanted to bring back to Washington but something has to be said that we have had a chance 2 out of the last 3 years. In the end, I am happy that Gibbs left to do what he feels is right; spend time with his family and sick grandson. He went out his way which is what the man, the legend deserves.
  18. Didn't the Redskins beat the Patriots the last time they meet in the regular season? Although they are a great team, the Patriots can be beaten by Washington this Sunday. New England has not faced a defense as impressive and quick as the Redskins, plus Brady has to have an off game sometime. The only question will be if the Redskins can keep up offensively. WE NEED TO SCORE TOUCHDOWNS! They are expecting rain so let’s hope Moss doesn't have anymore passes slip through this hands or hit him in his facemask.
  19. Does anyone know what happened to the rest of the kids involved?
  20. Marion Jones finally admitted to using steroids after years and years of lying to her fans, country, and federal investigators. Way to go Marion, thanks for everything. This is a serious problem we are facing not just in track but also in all sports. It seems that everyday there is a new drug scandal. What's worse is that these "CHEATERS" think they can lie and get away with it. Jones didn't just lie about it, she swore to everyone she was clean and always got angry when people doubted her. Marion Jones made millions by cheating. How much do you think Nike gave her for all those ads? What about all her other sponsorships? its just sickening. Thanks for being such a great role model for young girls that looked up to you! Have fun in prison; hope you can still run kind of fast without the drugs.
  21. Where did you find/read that report?
  22. Was it one punch or a group beating? Its funny that an issue that is this big in our country right now has so little concrete information/facts that we can read about.
  23. Do you have anymore facts about the case. Was the victim seriously hurt? Did all 6 really participate? Was there any other white students involved in the fight? How did the fight stop, were the students pulled away or did they realize things might have gotten out of control and stopped on their own? I have been trying to find out more regarding this topic so please post more information if you have it. Thank you!
  24. Except for the prevent (why does anyone play this, it automatically gives the offense 15-yard chunks), the corners and safeties played great last night. Landry and Taylor are beast that knock the daylights out of receivers. Oh yeah, maybe the Redskins should give Portis a shot at safety, he always seems to make the tackle when we turn the ball over and half the time he pops the defender. Nice hit last time.
  25. September 10, 2007 - For Immediate Release Contact: Laura Daab at 649-2583 or info@mysterydinner.com MYSTERY DINNER PLAYHOUSE CELEBRATES IT'S 15TH ANNIVERSARY On September 5, 1993, Jim & Laura Daab rolled into Richmond from Minneapolis to start Mystery Dinner Playhouse. Fifteen years later, the theatre is going strong with locations in Richmond, Williamsburg and Virginia Beach and Arlington, VA. "We're thrilled with the success and longevity we've achieved." says Jim Daab, who co-owns & operates MDP with his wife, Laura. "A lot of hard work, blind faith and luck went into building the business to where it is today. And we're pleasantly surprised that it's turned out so well, especially adding the other locations." The Daabs opened the Williamsburg location in 1997, and Virginia Beach the next year, and the D.C. area location in 2005. "Our Richmond shows are busy in the winter months, running at 80% capacity year round, and the Williamsburg and Virginia Beach shows run at 90-95% capacity in the summers and 80% capacity in the winter months." Daab adds. "We never really have a slow time, except in January for all locations." Mystery Dinner Playhouse is Richmond's only commercial theatre with shows running every Friday & Saturday nights year round. The DC location keeps the same schedule while the other two locations run 6 nights a week in the summer and three nights a week in the winter. Seating capacity for each location is around 100. Each location employs a cast of 6 or 7 actors - all hired locally through auditions. "About six months after we opened Williamsburg, we decided to move our office out of our home, and hire some help for the office and to run the shows." says Laura. "For the first six years, we did everything - answered the phones, did the bookwork, ran the shows, wrote the shows, made the costumes & props - and sometimes even acted in the productions. We really needed to get a life!" "The most common question people ask us is why did we move to Richmond?" Jim says. "There's a lot of reasons, but basically we knew it was a good market for our product, and a lot warmer that Minneapolis!" "We like to think that our success stems from putting out a good product and knowing how to market it. We're hoping to expand again soon in another state." he adds. Daab writes all of the mystery scripts with 34 currently in his catalog. "Richmond is our incubator where we debut and tweak the shows." Mystery Dinner Playhouse will open their 15th season on October 19th with 'Who Killed the Boss?' a holiday office party murder mystery and will run through February 16, 2008. "Since we book so many office parties over the holidays, it seemed like the perfect show idea." says Laura. "We think this will be very popular with our audience." Holiday shows at the other locations are: Williamsburg, "Murder at the Class Reunion" Sept. 21, 2007 - March 22, 2008; Virginia Beach, "Frankly Scarlett, You're Dead" Nov. 16, 2007 - April 19, 2008; and Arlington, "Murder Rides Again!" Oct. 26, 2007 - May 3, 2008. Mystery Dinner Playhouse performs weekly comedy murder mystery dinner shows. Audience members try to solve the mystery while enjoying a delicious four course dinner. The dinner is served by a zany cast of characters who all the while are providing clues to help audience members solve the crime. Patrons are given a clue dossier, and bribe money to entice the characters to give them better clues. A "Super Sleuth" prize is awarded for correctly solving the murder.
