Nikkidix Posted January 22, 2006 Report Share Posted January 22, 2006 The Pennsylvania State Police and FBI have a record on MARTIN AUSTERMUHLE as belonging to a Marxist organization known as YOUNG SOCIALISTS, where he is known to have been selling that Marxist newspaper THE MILITANT and was arrested for playing a role in inciting a racially motivated riot in the guise of protesting the US involvement in Iraq. The Militant Newspaper sent out notices of the active membership of AUSTERMUHLE: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania -Four students here at Penn State have formed a chapter of the Young Socialists (YS). Martin Austermuhle, Adam Levenstein, Dave Lieberner and Jaimie Yurick form the newest unit of the communist movement. The group has been getting together regularly over the last few months and organizing a variety of activities. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While AUSTERMUHLE charged with failure to disperse, others stated that he was one of the instigators who incited the riot, bottle throwing and violence that ensued. First, Nikki, you have yet to provide evidence as to your claim I was arrested during a riot that was racially motivated. Moreover, you have yet to prove that I engaged in any violent activities during that riot. And even more than that, you have yet to prove that my arrest for a non-violent misdemeanor has anything to do with my political views or activities. Start ponying up this evidence, please. As for the Young Socialists, I don't deny I was a member of the organization. My freshman year in college. More than eight years ago. For the better part of two months. Not exactly a smoking gun, now is it? Hell, if everyone's freshman year in college was the basis for the rest of their life, not many people would have reputations to speak of. To most, they will see your past as disgraceful and troublesome. I believe the internet is replete with your critics who wished that your NAZI ass be deported back to Costa Rica. Not just in legal proceedings but in ordinary discourse. Especially given said accuser's own history. Wow, college students as Marxists? Someone's seen the McCarthy movie recently. And DCistMartin is right, the "riot" (which appears to have been an anti-war rally) mentions nothing about race. It's disgusting and irresponsible to inject that. The Nazi allegation is simply grotesque. But once again, you've failed to back up your words. Putting the burden on others to contact the cops in Pennsylvania is nothing more than an admission that you haven't obtained any proof yourself. SAYING the record exists and anyone can obtain fails to meet even the most rudimentary standards of public debate. Like so many similar efforts, it's just not flying. Get a book on rhetoric.
