Redskins Quarterback Analysis

Ramsey may be the designated starter heading into 2005, but he'll still need to have a strong offseason and training camp to solidify that spot. Brunell's situation is intriguing: if he prefers to be a starter, then he'll have to out-perform Ramsey this offseason or settle on being a backup. Depending on whether Hasselbeck is re-signed--which seems likely--it appears right now that the Redskins will go into next season with the same three quarterbacks on the roster.

Let's face it, the Redskins don't have a Super Bowl caliber quarterback on the roster and that's a problem. What about picking one up from San Diego? They made Brees the franchise player, so maybe Phillip Rivers could be available at a good price.

Also, since getting Santana Moss, it may mean the Skins could pick up the leftover from Alex Smith and Aaron Rogers. Although that won't help them win next year and if they don't win next year, who knows what Gibbs will do.

Any thoughts?
