Bethesda resident and Winchester, Mass. native Steve Homsey, founder of Steps4MS.org brought his 3,000 plus mile walk across the country through Washington D.C. this past weekend. Homsey recently left Boston on May 2nd and has traveled over 400 miles on his way to San Diego, CA. His stops in Maryland included Aberdeen, Baltimore, and Bethesda where Homsey recently was employed as a manager at Champions Field House, an indoor sports facility for local athletes. His mission, to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis and perhaps find a cure for the disease that compromises the mobility of its sufferers across the country. Homsey, temporarily lost his mobility on the spring of 2009 after sustaining injuries due to a 40 ft fall from a Boston apartment building. Step by step, as Homsey travels across the country, stopping to interview families and sufferers of MS, he hopes to inspire the next generation to take up his fight against MS.
