National Air And Space Museum Needs You!!

Recommended Posts

Are you a people person?

Enjoy helping others and sharing stories?

Have a love and interest in aviation and space? :)

Looking for something exciting, challenging, and new?

If the answer is YES...Visitor Services is for you!!!

The Visitor Services Program is the public face for the National Air and Space Museum’s (NASM) Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. We are currently seeking eager and excited people (16 years or older) to become part of our dynamic volunteer team at NASM’s flagship building on the National Mall. This new companion program will enhance the visitor’s experience through visitor-focused services and programs.

What's in it for you?

- Access to special lectures, events, and training about/on the museum’s collections.

- Discounts at Smithsonian gift shops, cafes, IMAX, and Planetarium shows.

- Opportunities to network and learn new skills.

- A great resume enhancer.

- Worthwhile and enriching experience.

What do we require of you?

We do ask for a 6-month commitment to the program of at least 4 ½ hours every other week. Everyone must complete a mandatory two day training session specialized in customer service techniques necessary to effectively interact with the museum public and community. You are equipped to handle any situation through direct and personal interaction and provide visitors with information and knowledge about the museum.

All interested, contact us by phone at 703-572-4101 or email visitor_services@nasm.si.edu for more information and training dates.

Looking forward to hearing from you!!
