Psycho Posted September 20, 2007 Report Share Posted September 20, 2007 PAYDAY LOANS STILL AVAILABLE TO DC RESIDENTS While the DC City Council engaged in another anti-business move in the guise of caring for the poor while not doing other things like raising the local minimum wage, putting caps on landlords on how much they can charge in rents and other things that would better benefit the poor, Payday loan companies have a solid option to keep their clients. That option is, refer all of their clients to their offices in Alexandria and Arlington County, Virginia which is probably what we will see take place. Also, people in DC can get a PayDay Loan over the internet where this new DC law has no impact. Thanks to AG Linda Singer and DC City Councilwoman Mary Cheh who are incompetent lawyers they probably overlooked this fact when pushing the issue.
