Psycho Posted September 15, 2007 Report Share Posted September 15, 2007 DC COUNCILWOMAN MARY CHEH’S BBQ PARTY A BIG FALIURE DC Councilwoman Mary Cheh held today a ward 3 wide, back to school BBQ for her constituents. Sadly, only fifty five (55) people bothered to show up, and half of them were Cheh staffers, employees of the DC Fire Department and a few DC government officials. Actually, more people showed up for the little league baseball game being played next to the BBQ at Turtle Park! As a matter of fact, this may be the worst turn out for any event held by a DC council member for their constituents since the start of “Home Rule” back in the 1970’s. Why such a poor turn out? Well, it only took nine (9) months in office for Cheh to disappoint a lot of her supporters and others with her dismal record on the council of trying to force Guardasil down our throats, support of Fenty's sneaky take over plan of our schools and more; or Maybe the turn out was low because the people of ward 3 did not want to encounter a possible turn out of homeless people. Guest Rees is a Lunatic Posted September 17, 2007 Report Share Posted September 17, 2007 Actually, if you had taken the photo from the other side of the fieldhouse (not the side where the sprayground is kids won't be in a sprayground in 65 degree weather), you would have seen hundreds of people enjoying the free food, music, kids activities, etc. There was a moonbounce on the tennis courts, and lots of children enjoying the ambulance and firetrucks to climb on etc. Instead, you chose to stay behind the bushes off the side street by the Friendship Rec Center and continue your baseless venom. I am glad the moderator of this forum allows you somewhere to spew forth. The Cheh event was just one of three events taking place yesterday at Turtle Park at the same time. Even if you would triple that number, it was still a poor turn out when there are 21,000 Democrats in Ward 3. The numbers of how many attended was based on a count done by the DCFD officials who were serving up the grub!
