Temperatures are dropping to dangerous lows. Hypothermia is a condition that can occur when the temperature falls below 32. The District of Columbia provides residents with information on helping others to stay warm.

 

Hypothermia Shelter Hotline: 1-800-535-7252

The Shelter Hotline provides transportation to emergency shelters, and distributes items such as blankets, gloves and jackets.

 

Department of Human Services instituted a Hypothermia Watch Program which garners resources from other District agencies, local businesses and community organizations.
