We are hearing around the country and even in DC this claim that the backbone of America is the FAMILY.

The fact is, the FAMILY is not really the backbone of American and definitely not in DC with 70% of the adult population not being married but enjoying the single life.

Thus I have to ask is being married and being a family really the backbone of America and DC in these modern times enough so to be a driving force in even DC politics to say that a city or state is any better because its population is made up of more married than single people.
