Public Hearing Scheduled for Monday, June 21 at 7:00 p.m.

 

 

 

(Washington, D.C.) - Today, the D.C. Office of Planning (OP) announced a public hearing on the Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metro Station Area & Corridor Draft Plan. The public hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 21, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. (full details below).

 

 

 

About the Plan

 

The Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metro Station Area & Corridor Draft Plan is designed to:

 

leverage the public investment of the Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metro Station through Transit-Oriented Development (TOD);

balance growth and development by identifying and guiding opportunities for redevelopment along the Georgia Avenue corridor;

identify strategies to enhance and provide incentives to existing businesses;

encourage a better mix of uses, including quality neighborhood retail and housing;

and prioritize when and where public investment should occur.
