Sorry, it still cannot be read. What are you trying say that anybody really wants to hear?
-
That was a wasted posting Truthseeker as nobody can read it. You have yet to say anything worth listening to. Come back when you have something worth listening to.
-
I am sure Truthseeker is not going for this thing is for MATURE not IMMATURE people.
-
I am not looking at it Bfrank. I am just stating what my brother said as I think he will attend this event since he lives a block or two from the church.
-
I am none of these people you speak of. The Northwest current billed this event as mini forum to take place in the middle of a regular ward three Democrats meeting. I am not going to attend but I thought some of you would and would come back with some better insight into the candidates and offer up what they said. I was not aware that Rees said what you state. I was not aware that Rees said what you state.

Is anybody going to the ward 3 candidate mini forum tomorrow night up at St Columba Church?
-
It does on mine when I use Mozilla. I like Vincent Oranges website as he has a mini video on it.
-
Depends on whether you use MIE, MOZILLA or NETSCAPE but when they pop up, they can be annoying and no different than spam as nobody asked for that. I am the type who is not offended by Spam as I found some good buys from Spam.

I do not recognize the name Alec Evans but only Eric Marshall from the stories about his involvement in Smoke Frees DC and other causes.
-
I assume that the majority of voters in ward 3 like Kathy and that is why I think she will carry our ward. Eric is one of those politically correct jerks in my book who does not know the meaning of compromise. He lacks flexibility and it is his way or not way.

Who is that Bfrank?

TRUTHSEEKER ENDORSES REES FOR CITY COUNCIL
Gay replied to grim's topic in District of Columbia Politics
Truthseeker you obviously do not have a job based upon the amount of time you spend on the computer. Possibly Rees just happens to like money and working which might be a foreign word to you. If you have nothing positive to contribute other than your hatefulness then go elsewhere. -
If I was the smart alex you are, I would deny being you. Grow up little girl.

I have not seen any internet advertising by Rees anywhere other than a few shots at the list servers. I think his advertising is strictly door to door. Other than this, I have heard that he gives speeches before private groups that invite him to their meetings.

Candidates (one, anyway) Say The Darndest Things

Truthseeker is a weird bird. -
In the battle for the City Council Chair between Kathy Patterson and Vincent Gray, I have this feeling that Kathy Patterson will regret not taking Jack Evans advice and stay in ward 3 as I believe that Gray will walk away the winner of this battle winning wards 1, 4,5,6, 7 and 8. Kathys campaign manager is a man named Eric Marshall who while a nice person is one of the most arrogant and abrasive persons I have ever encountered in DC politics. Bad choice by Kathy.

If you go to google, hotbot and others and type in Sam Brooks, on the right side of the page after hitting the search button, a banner ad will pop in for Sam Brooks. I also saw next to his a banner ad for Scott Bolden.

Will Michael Brown drop out of the mayoral race in light of reports his campaign is broke, there is infighting and he has legal troubles?
-
Madam, I am not Rees so please take your game somewhere else as the others and I have had some very nice discussions this evening.

I do not know what your interpretation is of knowing someone on a personal level is but mine is, I know you not just because I recognize you from a picture or seeing you at the bus stop each morning. I know you on a personal level because I do things with you like have a beer now and then at the Austin Grill, you and I go to ballgames together or something more meaningful than just knowing your face. As a matter of fact, I know what all the candidates look like and would spot them in a minute if they were shopping in a store or standing on a corner.

Since four of the six candidates come from the same part of ward 3; namely, the Forest Hills – Chevy Chase area, they may be watering each other down by vying for the same votes. I am speaking of Brooks, Cheh, Gordon and Wiss. Gaull lives over in the Palisades but is well hated over in his own camp if the fact he lost big time to Patterson in his own back yard is an indication. Rees is the only candidate in the Glover Park-Au-Spring Valley area where 51% of all voters reside. Also keep in mind that home owners have a very high turn out rate where apartment renters do not. About 70% of the homes are northwest of Conn Ave. Most residents along Conn Ave are foreigners, students and out of state residents just here for a short time. We can break it down as to who will get what vote but I am expecting a shocking upset. I see the winner not being a person who won any set group or area of the ward but will get enough votes across ward 3 to rise above the others especially in a field of six or more candidates. I would not bet a dime on any of these candidates to be a sure winner.

Let us never forget the upset Patterson handed Nathanson. Nathanson was far better educated than Patterson. Nathanson had far getter experience in government and Patterson none. Nathanson had more money than Patterson. Nathanson had the support of almost all ANC commissioners and Patterson none. Despite the fact Nathanson had so much going for him, Patterson defeated him in a big way and none of the press saw it coming. My point here is, while Bfrank might feel that Cheh and Gordon have more going for them, we have been shocked before not just in ward 3 where the person we least thought would pull it off did. You never know, Brooks or Rees might pull it off despite the criticism of them.

Critics of Candidates Say The Darndest Things

And did you write him for that information? -
You may be right Bfrank. Yet, let us not forget that 9 out of 10 voters do not pay attention to credentials or issues like you, I and a few others do but are too easily swayed by aggressive and persistent candidates. While Cheh and Gordon might be the ideal candidate, will they be able to muster a campaign drive equal to what I have seen coming from Brooks and Rees in the form of campaign advertising. If you have notice Bfrank, Brooks is advertising over the internet just as heavily as Rees is and half of that out on the streets of ward 3. I never thought that Patterson would upset Nathanson but she did and it was a shock as even the Wash Post did not see it coming.

Since I do not know Rees but my brother is a Democrat, he has asked around to people he knows about what they know about the candidates for our ward 3 council seat. We all remember Erik Gaull. He was the guy who ran the mean spirited and dishonest campaign against Kathy Patterson last time round and lost. His reputation for being an arrogant jerk is beyond dispute and the Washington Post called him a gadfly. My brother said he would not vote for Gaull. We all know Kathy Wiss as she is one of our ANC commissioners. My brother said that she is the ultimate air head and a very difficult person to get along with. My brother said he would not vote for Wiss. We all know Robert Gordon another ANC commissioner but little is known about him. We all know Mary Cheh as not just being a law professor but Kathy Patterson relied on her many times to testify on a few issues before the council. Other than this, nothing is known about her. My brother said she is worth a second look. We all know Sam Brooks. My brother said he is not even a consideration because he just lacks any real experience in anything that would qualify him for the awesome task of being a council member. As for Rees, my brother says he has asked around and Rees only claim to fame seems to be the years he spent on Capitol Hill working for the international food giant Royal Ahold of the Netherlands, his involvement in a few civil rights cases and his heavy ties to the Hispanic community of DC. Other than this, little else is known about him. This is what we all should be looking at. Sizing up the experiences of the candidates, weigh that against the position on issues they have taken and then decide which one would be best able to carry them out against the back drop of who will be our next mayor and other council members.
