  1. Valencia, I hope all is well with you and your family Valencia. Its been a while since I joined in on the message board. I contacted you back in March 2006 regarding my 4b type natural hair. Its about 4"-5" long. I too was inquiring if your hair technics (either fusion or weave) can give me the Rachel True curly natural hairstyle that I've longed for. Please let me know "when" you will be updating your website with more "natural" hairstyles. And can you contact me regarding a consultation and possibly an appointment? I LOVE the pics that Renay sent you of Rachel True. For some reason I was not able to attached my Rachel True pictures back in March 2006. But she and I are definitely on the same page when it comes to the "LOOK" we're trying to achieve. I am a vivacious, passionately creative woman when it comes to my hair and fashion. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Rosemary P.S. I would love to be a volunteer model too . Just let me know.
  2. Hello Valencia, Thanks for the "heads-up" on what's new with your product line of hair extensions for women of color with natural 4b hair types. Yes. I can wait. Darling please... I've been waiting for 5 years now :-). This past weekend I had a beauty store credit and so I decided to change my haircare products based on what I found online on another message board for two strand twists natural hairstyles. I must admit... my hair does feel a lot softer but its only day #2 so its to early to tell... but for now I am pleased. Keep me posted on information regarding your hair show and thanks a lot for responding to my emails, eventhough I know you have quite a busy schedule.
  3. Hello Kelina, I had given up putting relaxers in my hair about 5 or so years ago. My hair type is 4b (I think). Its about 4 inches long, coarse and will not grow. I get wonderful compliments from people about my funky short curly rinklets. Years ago I was doing the straw set to get this curly rinklet look. I now do my own hair doing the twist out effect. I am a very frustrated with the dryness of my hair to the touch and thought that maybe your dominican hair care products can help give my hair softness and bounce. I would love for my hair to obtain the funky hairstyle look like the woman that plays as Joan (Tracey Ross) in the UPN Girlfriends sitcom? I love the NATURAL soft curly look of her hair and would love to achieve that textured hairstyle and curl. Also Rachel True is my most favorite when it comes to LONG LENGTH curly hairstyles. I can't wait for my natural hair to grow that length so that I can have versatility in styling my curly locks. Rachel Trus plays the role as Mona in the sitcom Half & Half. Since my hair is coarse and no chemicals (relaxers) will your products work on my hair? Thanks, Rosemary
  4. Good Afternoon Valencia, Thank you for sending me an email of your upcoming Hairshow. I would be delighted to attend. Keep me posted of the date, place and time. I am looking forward to seeing your work. Question... as a reminder. My hair type is 4b (I think) and it is natural with no hair relaxers. I have been natural for about 5 years now and its about 4 inches long. Very dry (eventhough I moisterize it daily), stubborn and will not grow. My question is "will you provide any hair styles or services recommended for women with coarse natural hair? My dilemma is having short, natural, type 4b hair. Truth be told I have been considering Texturizing my hair to soften and loosen the curl. I am a tad bit tired of the dryness of my hair to the touch and thought that maybe a texturizer will soften my hair yet allow me to continue with my curly rinklet hairstyle (similar to straw set). What do you think? Hey there "DC Message Board Ladies/and gents"... ANYONE out there have any experiences, good or bad, with Texturizing your hair to obtain the funky hairstyles of curly afros, straw sets, or loose curly afros like the women "Joan" in the UPN Girlfriends sitcom? I love the NATURAL soft curly look of her hair and would love to achieve that textured hairstyle and curl. Also Rachel True is my most favorite when it comes to curly hairstyles. Let me know what you think about texturizing. Thanks, Rosemary
  5. Hello Valencia, I am a very vivacious spontaneous career woman who loves the excitement of hair versatility and fashion. About 5 or more years ago I went natural. I must admit it was an uphill battle but it was well worth the journey. I tried double strand twists, the straw set and for the past 2 years I have been styling my own hair (and coloring it). I believe my hair type is 4b/c because it's coarse and slightly kinky with an "s" curl pattern (see the picture on the RIGHT below). Actually that picture and the length looks like me from behind. Unfortunately my hair will not grow beyond 3-4 inches. Therefore I no longer have the versatility of pulling it in a ponytail (as when I had shoulder length relaxed hair), flat ironing it etc., The only style (of choice) is the natural curly ringlet look which I love and everyone else loves on me (men and women). Unfortunately, over the years I dread doing my hair because the entire process takes about 3 hours whenever I have to wash, twist, let dry, and then about an hour to untwist and style. My question is... can the fusion technique be used on natural hair? Can I get the same curly funky (but 10" longer) look that I love AND hopefully relieve me of dealing with my OWN HAIR with as little maintenance as possible with the weaved and/or Fushion hair. In order to get the Fusion hair do I have to relax my hair (which isn't an option for me)? Most of the photos I've seen on your photo gallery look like women with relaxed or biracial hair. I tried a hair weave in the 90's but it wasn't professionally done and you could see the tracks at my forehead so I had to wear bangs and kept overlapping my relaxed hair at the hairline etc., I know that I could get a full hairweave with human bohemian curly hair because I have seen that look on the internet on some natural hair weave websites. I believe they may have to braid all my hair and then weave in this bohemian curly hair thus giving me the "freedom" so that I can wash and go! After 5 years of twisting, coloring etc., I get depressed just thinking about the process of doing my own hair (its just to time consuming). Besides I "long" for my hair blowing in the wind and with body, movement and bounce! Below is a picture of Rachel True from the UPN show Half & Half. That look (but not as wild) is what inspired me to go natural. No... I am not biracial (like the actress) but I simply have a passion to get this look and to have tremendous fun with the versatility of pulling it back in a ponytail or pinning it up in a bun and having some hair trickle down around my hairline framing my face. The thought of wash and go hair is a dream for me at this point. The picture to the right is pretty much like my hair is right now which is about 3 to 4 inches short, with tight rinklets (similar to a straw set). If the Fusion look must be done on permed hair, can you perhaps recommend a highly professional hair extension specialist for weaving and hair extensions? Are there newer techniques for weaving hair now or do they still have to braid your hair? Is Bohemian hair out dated and replaced by a Fresh look on the market like this Remy Hair I heard mentioned on your message board? Last month a stylist did showed me some human wavy hair like the actress Joan on the t.v. sitcom Girlfriends. IT WAS GORGEOUS! I love Joan's natural curly looking hair which reflects my sophisticated lifestyle. Please advise... and by the way... I appreciate your candid words of wisdom on the message board. P.S. Sorry... the picture I had attached DID NOT forward on this message board Rbell
