I made two very lengthy politically substantive posts yesterday with little response.... -

This coming from the "new" person who has over 30 posts in about 24 hours. B. Frank -

Um, I am not Sam Brooks. Can't speak to the others. You forgot Dr. Blecher, since you already accused me of being him (whoever he is). B. Frank -

Tammy, I noticed that you said here that Mr. Rees has never attended an ANC meeting. What kind of credibility,or political astuteness does it show to never attend an ANC meeting when one is running for a Ward wide seat. Indeed, others who will be running for the seat will have blocks of votes based at least on their "home" district. I would think that Mr. Rees would want to develop some kind of base of a few thousand votes to launch a more credible showing in polls leading up to the election. Also, I noticed that your posts seem to have that tell-tale /// indicating that you are posting from a proxy IP address. Are you hiding something that would make you want to shield this? B. Frank -

I don't know...I suppose out of the 3500 or so people in what would be considered "my" neighborhood, probably 2/3 to 3/4 know me, or at least know my name. All of the local civic leaders know me as well as the ANC Commissioners. Maybe this neighborhood is unusally close-knit. Then again, I have lived here since 1970, so that may have something to do with it. By the way, none of my friends who are active in Glover Park politics know anything about Angela or Leona (aka "missgloverpark"). These are people who show up at ALL the ANC3B meetings, who are involved with the bar expansion fights, the Metro fights and the Stoddard fights. Maybe I am in the wrong loop? B. Frank -

So, contrary to your initial post, you didn't come here as a disinterested party. With respect to the other stuff....Yawn. B. Frank -

Oh, I think that is only something that someone VERY close to Mr. Rees would know. Gee, for someone who came to these boards as a disinterested party, you seem to know alot. B. Frank -

I think the bigger question is why are Rees and all of his "supporters" so bent out of shape about it? Besides, since this is THE only place where "they" have to post messages, as Yahoo, Craigslist and now DCist have banned the Rees's. Heck, someone said Yahoo even deleted his own message board he was so bad. The thing that gets me are the outright lies. B. Frank -

Well, the record on DC Pages (here) and DCist are pretty clear...you can see how things transpired yourself. Basically, the MO is that Mr. Rees starts posting on a message board, and then creates aliases to support "that Rees" guy. Then by pissing off the regular readers of said message board, the moderators jump in. When writing styles, syntax and IP addresses are examined, things degenerate pretty quickly. This leads to many doing investigations into "that Rees guy" which, well, has been interesting to say the least. I cannot wait for the City Paper and other traditional print jhournalists to publish their exposes. Case in point, if you go back to October or so you will see how things started here. I only got involved when Blogs that I followed were inundated. You can go to the various neighborhood Listserves to see how things transpired, say at the Tenley, Glover Park, etc Yahoo Groups. The posts are all there for the record. There are easily over 100 aliases that Mr. Rees has created here, at DCist and elsewhere. Really it is more about being an incoherent spammer than anything to do with politics. B. Frank -

This is all interesting except that I am not Mr. Brooks as the Rees-ists have continually alleged, nor do I have any relationship with any political candidate. You have never seen a post of mine that supports a political candidate, particularly Mr. Brooks. Tammy, since you seem to think I have been negating one candidate at the expense of another ("Understood but my reading of these matters would suggest that the otherside is just as guilty".) I am wondering where I have been an advocate of any political candidate? My posts have been mostly tryin to spurn the lies and maliciousness that Mr. Rees and his "advocates" have created here and at DCist. As noted by my other posts today, I am all for rational political discourse on issues affecting me and the Ward and City in which I live. B. Frank -
Tammy, I respect your attitude that the three candidates you mention have hit the streets hard and early and have "captured name recogtnition". I have only received information from the Fenty camp in the mayoral race. I saw the Rees posters last summer, although most seem to have faded or fallen off at this point. Other than the few front yard signs for a handful of candidates, I think the campaigning really hasn't started in earnest yet. So the concept of my having been inundated hasn't happened. I don't know, maybe I don't live in the "right" part of the Ward to have received such attention. I think Adrian Fenty is a great guy and has been sensational for constituent services in Ward 4. However, for as much time as he has spent on his blackberry monitoring email and neighborhood Listserves, he has received criticism from his colleagues (according to the Washington Post) that he hasn't been focused in council proceedings. As I am not in those meetings, this is clearly not primary infomation. I am not sold on Linda Cropp or any of the other candidates. I am interested to see how the Baseball thing plays out before making any decisions. I know nothing of Bolden...is that an At-Large thing? I think Mr. Mendelson's time on the Council is passed, and am interested in reviewing any of the At-Large contenders once the ballot is set. I think my views of Mr. Rees are pretty clear. I do not think his narrow-minded views are appropriate for a fairly progressive Ward 3 Constituency. I think the text on his website are more ramblings than an actual well-articulated platform. Certainly his spamming posts on the internet, at least the ones we know are him, have been incoherent, grammatically incorrect screeds. Indeed, there are a number of ANC Commissioners and others who are still considering an election run. As a result, I think it is too early to make any committments for any candidate. If you examine Mr. Rees's "press releases" which are archived at DC Watch (another place where DC politics are hashed out), you will see an almost comical attempt at political discourse. Of course, that is just my opinion, but many have commented about it at DC Watch and elsewhere. Based on the lashing out I have seen on this forum and on DCist (as proven by the IP addresses), I do not believe Mr. Rees is the person who will represent our Ward and be the type of person who will sooth relations between the Council and the Executive, as you suggest. Indeed, I think the opposite is true. I believe Mr. Rees would have a very polarizing affect on the Council, and will make Marion Barry seem like the paragon of political excellence. If you are truly interested in Ward 3 and DC Politics, I would suggested you subscribe to themail which is part of the DC Watch discussions. That forum is much more diverse in opinions and does not tolerate the kind of slipshot banter that other forums present. B. Frank

Good monring Tammy, It is nice to make your acquaintance. I was curious on your post...it is interesting that you are coming to this forum to find out about the political candidates. I for one have not seen very much activitiy by any of the candidates themselves -- other than hawking websites, which would not lend itself to any decision making for an election that is taking place so many months from now. I guess if you base your political decisions on the ramblings of "supporters" of Jonathan Rees or the detractors of said "supporters", then that is your choice. I haven't seen anyone on this forum espousing the virtues of any of the announced candidates, other than Mr. Rees. I for one, am waiting until all of the candidates are declared, as I understand there ar a number of viable ANC Commissioners as well as a few individuals from the private sector who are weighing their bids. By the way, you should join the Tenley Yahoo! Group. There are some very nice people who post there and I understand there is often a lot of good political and neighborhood banter. Of course, since I do not live in that neighborhood, I only lurk that forum. B. Frank

Well, if it is the same person who posted at DCist on the Crime blog, then I don't care what he says, it is a sick person.... Has Rees been banned from every respectable blog and Listserv in the City? (Well, with Craigslist, I guess it is broader than city)? B. Frank -

Well, then please find the posts in question on the DC Pages, because it wasn't me. The IP logs of whatever posts you find will verify that. If they are in the Yahoo Groups, please provide a link or screen shot, because, again, I am B. Frank and have only ever posted as B. Frank with no proxy IPO addresses. I have never posted at Yahoo...only DCist, DCPages (here) and once at DCDL. I can see by the slashes that you are continuing to use the proxy IP. B. Frank -

Like I said, my firends who are both more than 10 year DC residents, registered democrats, didn't receive anything. I guess that selectivity goes beyond the norm. And these were individually addressed? By the way, any chance you and "missgloverpark" can eliminate the use of Proxy IP's? The slashes (///) are getting very distracting in your posts. B. Frank -

I asked friends at both 2828 CT Ave and at the building next to the Rhodes Tavern (aka "Zoo Bar") and no one has seen anything. Shrug. B. Frank -

Let's make this easy "missgloverpark". Logout of the proxy IP, and log back in using your real one, so as to avoid the "///" that continually appear in your posts as a result of the Proxy IP you are using (by your own definitation) You really lose all credibility on behalf of yourself and your candidate when you can't be honest. If I were Rees and there were people posting on message boards on my behalf, I would certainly want them to be honest. If you can't be honest, what kind of trust will you instill in voters? Voters need trust, and your supporters are an extension of your campaign. B. Frank -
That is true, but I have respectfully requested that you and all others posting on these boards not use proxy ID's so as to verify that there is more than 1 person behind the aliases that I beleive are behind "missgloverpark", "Angela Brannon", "Jason Rees", "rapmasterjohnny", "CUMES", etc. Given that you continue and the "others" continue to hide behind proxy ID's, I do not believe there is a reason to entertain meeting until I can verify that there are actually multiple posters here, rather than just one. I can tell by looking at the users at the bottom of the page that there have been many times when I have been here, as well as "jtfrank", "truthseeker", and DCistMartin. However, I have never seen more than one of the "Rees" alisases logged in at any one time. Given the past history of Mr. Rees and multiple IDs and proxy IP's, logic would dictate that someone needs to be frank. B. Frank

Truthseeker, I think it is a fine idea. I am not too happy about discussing issues with people who aren't even honest enough to use their own IP address when posting on the internet. By the way, I went by the Zoo, and did not see any new Rees material. I guess the new campaign was a smashing succes. I saw today that Mayor Williams is entering into an agreement with Howard (formally) for the new National Medical Center, to replace DC General. I wonder if our City Council will reject this agreement, or take years to approve it, as it is currently doing with the Stadium agreement. B. Frank -

Hey Leona, aka "missgloverpark"...you are still using a proxy IP...I ain't meeting with you until you and all of the Reesists stop using proxy IP addresses. I need to know if I am meeting one person of 200. B. Frank -
Course, I'm still not Sam, but as long as you mention it, what other message boards have I been popping in on attacking candidates I oppose? Funny that "missgloverpark" has made the same allegation. Can you provide a link, reference, source, screen shot or any other proof that I have been on any other message boards besides here and DCist (I think I made one remark at DCDL when they posted an article about the Ward 3 race). What candidates have I been harrassing? I haven't even been harrassing Mr. Rees, but rather have been engaged in conversation with "missgloverpark", "Angela Brannon", "CUMES", "Jason Rees", "rapmasterjohnny"...oh and what was that other one, "James Ray Smith"? Please DO tell. Oh, and if you can bounce off the proxy IP, and use your real one, that would be great. Someone told me that you are actually "missgloverpark", so it would be great if the board moderator could see if you and "missgloverpark" are using the same IP address or different ones that are actually based somewhere in the US (or Sweden, LOL).
