Hello Ladies First I want to thank everyone for the emails and phone calls. What a pleasure it has been to be a service provider to a bunch of wonderful females. I am happy to say that I have just returned from my trip! Vegas is def. land of Hair Extensions. I did some fishing around and I must say, Vegas is full of Hair Addicts :). I fit right in. I am in training next monday for the So.Cap line. I am ofcourse looking forward to offering this to my clients as a alternative to my services. I am excited about the quality of hair...now I just have to see if it will stand up to the tride and true test. My studio is coming along great, I love to watch DVD's with my clients. Im so zoned into the client I forget that Sex in the City is on, again...so each time it is playing it feels like the first time....TOO FUNNY! DVD box sets are great... Anyways, Questions are always welcomed. I try hard to keep up on my posts and help take the load off of Miss Valencia. hollywoodhairextensions@yahoo.com 301-991-4879

I am also a fan of this hair from this company. Pure virgin hair is hard to come by. The limitations with color are the only downfall but i have colored and tested it aswell and must say, it takes on very well. I am excited to use this hair on my new client :) hollywoodhairextensions@yahoo.com

Stories like this really ruin it for this type of extension. I would like to point out that in general, I don't believe in saying anything bad about a fellow worker. However, the way things were treated I can't help but to say...WHAT A JOKE! It really does shock me to hear how others treat their clients, rather than just humble themselves and either admit there was a problem or atleast try and fix the damage done. Being true to clients is the ultimate goal. The amount of money spent is not un-normal for some salons but you atleast should be happy with what you have had done. That said, my suggestion is to ask for photos of clients. Also find out how long a client has been in business, not just as a hair stylist but as someone who does hair extensions. In school, they do teach hair extensions for half a day...dont fall into the whole "just cause she has her license...thing", yes she or he may have their license but have no idea about hair extensions. All some people see is a dollar sign. When getting your hair done, you are making an investment. Not just the hair but an investment in yourself and how you feel. Protect your investment and find someone who loves what they do. I love what I do, I know Valencia does also. We care, we both are hair addicts and we both wear extensions so trust me, we have been there. hollywoodhairextensions@yahoo.com

Hello Navy Wife I wanted to introduce myself, my name is Sophia and I have been doing Fusion hair for ten years. Recently I have joined this forum and now have made the promise to Valencia that I will keep posting. I wanted to touch base with you and discus your options. My little business is mobile Fusion and air brush tanning. Please let me know your thoughts and let me help put you in the right direction to good hair! sophia@sophiaparnachelli.com

Valencia, you get what you give. People love you because you have a good heart. We both do hair, but we give more than just great hair. We actually care about the clients and in return they take care of us with kind words and encouragement. Nothing is better than getting "thankful" phone calls or emails from a client who you just finished doing their hair. JUst hearing how happy someone is because of the great job we did, is so worth it. Im off for the weekend but will do my duty on the thread and check in on Monday. sophia@sophiaparnachelli.com

I will be there :), what about you Valencia...?

Im happy to be here and if I can shed any light on extensions, my ten years of experience or new ideas with So.Cap I will let you know. I am in the process of sourcing out the hair directly from overseas....I will send you a sample and I would love your opinion. will talk to you when I am back from Vegas and Florida
-
Well Miss Valencia you sure put a fire under my butt It was great to talk to you today. I love to meet other fellow hair addicts that are in for the long haul. If hair extensions are done right, they are addicting. And with my own personal experience, when I curl my own hair and hit the outdoors, it doesn't matter what I do to it, it is flat in less than 30 seconds. With hair extensions, if I put a curl in it actually stays, what a concept. Anyways, Miss Valencia I promise to keep going on this board. You are a wonderful person inside and out. I hope we can work together and I do look forward to talking to you....Dream Team isn't for dreamers it is for Doers. You are a real entrepreneur, Im proud to know you. signed your partner in Hair Crime. Sophi

Hi I am sure you checked out the Great Lengths site...it is great. I am taking the So.Cap course at the end of the month and would like to tell you about it. It is rated second to Great Lengths. There is no difference in application or quality of hair, the only huge difference is price. Great Lenghts can cost up to $2000, (my quote given to me by a stylist in Frederick....I almost swollowed my tongue). I do believe that So.Cap ranges from 800+ and the hair is amazing and the bond is super small. I look forward to this course and offering this service to my clients. I love this forum.
-
Hey u I saw your posting. Sounds great, does trigger a guestion though. What is different about this system than the old school? My bonds are quite small...trust me I have had stylist do my hair for so many years that I know my work is much smaller and more discreet than others. There have been times where the bonds in my hair are straglers..........man that is the worst! Anyways, I don't like to say bad things about other stylists. If this pre glued? I can't imagine that it is.... Now Im curious...........

Hi Ladies Sorry for the late response. I try and get on here as much as possible. Valencia, I do travel within in few hours of each of my studios. I am set up in Baltimore and Hagerstown. I do have clients who want weaves etc do you do those? I can send them your way if you do. Im strickly the Strand by Strand girl. Also, So.Cap is having a training seminar in Annapolis at the end of the month, let me know if you are interested in becomming a licensed stylist for them. Great product from Italy. Hair Diva: Hi, sorry for the delay. HOnestly I usually shop on the web but never really FORUM.. I think you called me the other day about products. As you said you were going to do your own. I did get your email today and will respond tomorrow. That said with any products you usually find a bit of oil base, but there are some that are minimal. As with all extensions, oil is BAD. Condition the ends only also. I would like to also mention that Valencia is on the mark, it is one thing to put them inyour self but another to take them out! The damage done is never the Fusion (if done correctly) it is done when taking them out. I have had and do Hair Extensions for ten years. To be honest the best thing is to keep out of heat, use warm water and brush from the bottom up. And if you are really serious about maintenance. put your hair in a braid before bed or fitness. contact me if you like hollywoodhairextensions@yahoo.com

I too will check out this site and possibly order. I would like to say, however, I am a bit sceptical as sometimes not all Remy is good, it can be a mix of a few indiv. and well....you know the outcome. I am in the process of importing from India....untouched virgin hair. I think that is a wonderful option for dark/brown hair but not great for blonde. Will keep you in the loop.
-
Hi Ladies. If you are looking for virgin Remy hair, try Hairindia.com. It is expensive but wonderful. If you are looking for a mixed remy Yaki, try sultryhair.com. As for the return policy, I am almost postive you won't find that online. You may only find that at a walkin. Keep me posted if you do. Also I am interested in what the name of the store is in DC (hairdiva), I have a hard time finding great hair that doesn't brake my clients wallet
-
I agree, that is a disaster waiting to happen!
-
Hi Terri Remi is finer than others as it is Indian real hair. I would suggest to you, only for the weave...that you use Asian...it is corse but I def. don't recomend it for long term. If you redo your weave every month it will be fine...just don't wash your hair everyday. You will have to use new hair each month but I think this would be the best solution for you. Let me know how it goes!
-
Hi the answer is yes! you do need to be licensed for more than one reason. if you are cutting the hair to blend you must be licensed. you may want to get trained by a licensed Hair Extension company such as SOCAP or GREAT LENGHTS.
-
Hi, Yes this is a common problem. It appears that you used an Asian brand and that hair was put in a Acid bath. It usually looks great for a bit until the silicon is washed out. They actually put silicon on the hair to make it look healthy but it isn't. Valencia was right, Remi hair is the best. YOu also were correct to find a brand of hair with the cuticle in tact BUT Im curious if that is what the sytlist told you? Because it seems that was a lie. I recomend a shampoo called Hair Support. It was developed for Kemo Patients and now is for everyone. It will help your new hair grow in stronger. If you would like a link to buy the product email me and I will research it for you. I hate to hear you had a bad experience, dont' give up. Give you hair a few months and try it again, this time with better product. Just because someone has a license doesn't mean that they care!
