Extension Stylist. California Dreams is in town this Saturday. She is hosting a training seminar this Sunday and Monday. She will also be at our studio during the afternoon on Saturday. Just letting you know that there is a training seminar for all those Certified Cosmetologists with So.Cap Extension company. They are training in NYC the 3-5th and Baltimore Dec 6th. Hello there First of all, your writting is very funny! Not the situation but I love your style. Mabye you should tap into that as a talent. FIrst off all if you can show any web page that states 400 that would be great. Secondly, I am familiar with who this is. I am not going to play games here. I have list of happy clients and if ever something should go wrong, I would fix it. I think it is funny how this came up just now... The contract that was signed was about after care. I have the copy here. It doesn't say anything about not being responsible. It is just to verify that you have read the maintenance form. I have never said not to use Remy hair due to shedding or tangles. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM very intersting. AS with everyone, if for somereason you are not happy I will always fix the problem. I can't fix it if you don't let me know. If you went in over four weeks later, why wouldn't you contact me and tell me. I did enjoy my time with this client, I remember them all. This is the first person, yes Valencia, the first person who has not come back. Competition is one thing. But as an individual, you really are going for it. OH and the remark about having my fusions done by a stylist, that is very funny! I don't attempt to bond the back of my own head. I enjoy the service. Nice try though. I know several stylists who do the same thing, as a matter a fact, I am doing a trade off tomorrow with a fellow stylist who loves SO>CAP. All in all. I have happy clients. I don't suggest taking them out on your own. It isn't about money it is about BREAKAGE! If you study the process the damage is done while taking them out, not putting them in. Keep em coming, Im not one to back down in somekind of hair war! I love my job and what I do. I do have photos...thankyou verymuch.

Valencia Im not going to waste time sitting here and questioning your skills. THe point is you do it your way and that is fine. I can understand why you are defensive, just the same as I am about you making a comment to me on this forum. I was trained by an African American Female. She has her own business and has won several awards for her work. I am not talking about So.Cap!!!! I am not going to sit here and go back and forth. It is funny though that in my home country, the salons use OIL AND REMOVER to take out the bonds. And that is on all hair types. As I said before, I wish you well. I think you have done a great job on this forum. But your ways of doing hair, yes, work for you...that is great. But you can't press them on every CERTIFIED COSMETOLOGIST AND CERTIFIED EXTENSION STYLIST. All stylist have different ways of doing things. I would never lash out and tell someone that she did something wrong, I would email them and then we could chat and figure out the matter. I can understand your defense but I am happy with the job I do and the clients I have. I will continue to write in this post. My site is almost done and I would be happy to show smiling faces with the job I do. The reason I constantly take courses is to provide better services to my clients. It isn't to make claims about another stylist. Atleast the other stylist who didn't like your way of doing things emailed you privately, rather than posting things on a public forum. AGAIN, all the best to you Valenica. My thoughts still are "what you do on this forum is wonderful for the industry". But when you invite other stylists to the forum you will always get difference of opinion. Im glad you feel that it is on the table. Honestly Valencia, an email will suffice but to make claims on a forum isn't correct. That person, if having her hair done by me, would have been asked to fill out a form, as I do with all my clients, on the form it has a list of products for ALL HAIR TYPES. There is also a after care sheet, which outlines after care... I will always tell clients to not put oil "directly" on their fusion. That will never change. If that 'person' who contacted you misunderstood...mabye you should ask me first my opinon on this via email before posting something one a forum. When we spoke on the phone we talked about this exact thing. Being trained by Caucasians and having experience with Caucasian hair are two different things. The products I suggest to my clients have enough oil, min, but enough to keep their scalp moisturized. I also suggest vitamins, you know I am into fitness and EFA's can make a huge difference in clients hair, skin and nails. I have heard things also but I don't wish to post them in a public place. How you run your business is your own "business". Good luck.

Valencia We use the same product. Try and remember I too have been wearing them and doing them for ten years. I am trained and certified and have documentation stating that oil is not good for fusion bonds. Saying no oil doesn't mean not to condition your hair. I sell shampoo and conditioner in my studio...I do know that if you don't Wash, condition and MOISTURIZE (very important) your hair the extensions do not receive your natural scalp oils and so need to have moisture added every wash. If you don't moisturize your hair extensions they will become brittle and break easily leading to split and ratty ends. As with all clients, no oil products or conditioner before putting the fusion in. It is impossible to find any product out there that doesn't have oil. I have read a post you placed months ago about the same issue. I do believe you are misunderstanding me. That said. The theme of this site is not to “de-bunk” others' opinions on this broad subject, but rather this site is meant to give our customers specific, correct and important information they need to care properly for their new hair extensions. If you would like to talk about this further that would be great but your "remarks" about WARNING ME....are not needed. A discussion yes, everyone has their own way of doing hair. I may be more experienced with Caucasian hair than you and you with African American hair...however as I stated before there are no products that don't contain some type of oil (even min.). I am familiar with the grade of hair you are talking about as it doesnt produce enough sebum...EFA (esential fatty acidss) there are other things other than OIL PRODUCTS you can use. All sorts of EFA vitamins that work internally than externally. Also staying away from Sulfate in your shampoo will help. In my experience, the KERATIN breaks down and after time and time again it will become sticky. KERATIN is the same product you use. And I have been trained to forward this information on to my clients. And that is why I tell them that. I am educating them the way I have been educated. I also have lost bonds and losened them because I often condition my hair ad my own is very dry and brittle. I find it very interesting that you will make certain comments to me here but yet when I ask you to email me you wont. For the third time...My email is admin@mylongtresses.com. I have talked to various females on the phone Valencia, and I always tell them the same thing...you appear to be a nice lady. But It does appear that I may respect you more than you respect me! I would never diss you on a forum. I have told clients to go to you before as I am not into the competition. I am a Caucasian Hair Expert, I have never made claims to be a African AMerican Hair Expert but have quite a few clients who are and love their hair. Unfortunately I thought we could learn from each other but I guess not. The bellow is taken from notes etc that I have kept on file for several years. Here's How: 1. When brushing, use a soft bristle brush and start from the bottom and gently work your way up. 2. Gently tie your hair up while sleeping and never sleep with wet hair. 3. Do not attempt to color your own hair extentions. Head to a salon for this procedure. 4. Running your fingers through the extensions will help prevent tangling. I also suggest using Boar Bristle or loop brush. 5. Do not spray extensions with conditioners or any silicone based products as they can cause the extensions to slip. What About Build-Up and How It happens: Hair extensions can also start to look dull after a time. The cause for this can be by using heavy styling aids or not rinsing well enough. But, what is termed heavy for hair goods, may not be heavy for regular growing hair because of the lack of cuticle (unless you have cuticle or virgin hair). The products we are discussing here should be avoided, and are defined as they are just too heavy for processed hair goods: Oils Waxes Creams Mousses Gels This type of hair needs to be as free of outside products as possible. Allowing the hair to flow freely, without adding anything extra, will give you the best styling advantages. Adding too much of any of these previous products only attracts dirt, and weighs it down and can also losen bonds. I suggest to everyone to use a HYDRATING SHAMPOO THAT STIMULATES THE ROOT AND GROWTH AREA AND ALSO A CONDITIONER enhanced with SILICONE(not base ingredient). There are salon products and other products such as By allowing a small amount of the waxy silicone type derivative to be left on the hair after it is rinsed, it's purpose it to smooth out and cover over any damaged part of the hair. Use every time you shampoo. And. it is also recommended to use lightly after the use of a deep conditioner, especially if you are having trouble keeping your hair hydrated; this can often do the trick (most hydrator do not contain a coating agent. And since it takes many weeks or months to get your hair healthy after it has been damaged(if the client has processed dry hair), this product can help make it "feel" as if is, and there is nothing wrong with that! I have spoken my peace.

Hi Valencia A comment about removal... Yes I agree abou the $ for removing. I do show people the technique and have premade bottles for the client, if they should use it. As a matter of fact, I prefer to be the one to take them out for clients and that never makes a profit really but what it does do is lets me have control over what is going on with her hair, ables me to min. damage and also lets me determine her growth and hair health. I recently just did one at no charge because I knew if she attempted it herself it would damage her hair and to me, it was like finger nails down a chalk board. I love what I do. In the past, I myself, have paid hundreds to have my hair taken out...I have walked that mile in clients shoes. Because we both wear extensions, we can fully understand the needs of our clients. This puts us in a category of our own. The stylist who emailed you....well Valencia, not everyone wants to see you succeed! Constructive critisism that wasn't...I love constructive critisism, it ables me to offer more knowledge to my customer. I think you like have two sets of eyes... I on the other hand am happy for your advice, love to learn about African American Hair Grade and I appreciate what you are trying to give back in the world of Extensions.

Hi Valencia I can understand your comment about oil BUT how can you put oil on a bond? In the past, bonds slip from oil so I am a bit lost here. I love your advice but I dont' understand. We have spoken about this before about finding products that are low oil...I always tell everyone to keep oil away from the bonds for the obvious reason. Please let me know, you are AFrican American and obviously know more about the slippage on your hair with the keratin....Im excited to have your response. ALSO REGARDING MY ORDER, IT HAD NOTHING TO DO OF THE STORM. I AM AWARE OF THAT. IT WAS AN ORDER THAT WAS ALREADY SHIPPED BUT SENT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS.

When we spoke we both agreed that the damage is done when the fusion is taken out. Hi Thankyou for your question. Also I am curious who your friend is. I recently have had a bad experience with a company who I used to purchase Remy hair. My Hair India is the name. UGH, to say the least. At the time I was shopping around for a better prices as they sell their hair for a high price. I have landed two new places, one I am in the midst with joining forces with their company so I will let you know about it at a future date. So for now, I like remyhairtoday.com. I have some samples here. I wish I could tell you more but an order I placed was shipped back for some unknown reason. The lady who owns the company is a fellow Hair Addict, so that always helps. The new "system" is So.Cap. To be honest, I would prefer to only do this type of service on a Caucasian person. A few fantasy colors on any hair BUT for a full head I recomend Remy for African American Hair. So. Cap is European and the hair is finer than Remy. The best way to find if you are in our driving limits is to contact us via email and we can then map quest your address and go from there. We do not drive long distance for air brush tanning as I am sure you can imagine it is expensive and takes a huge bite off our earnings. As it stands now we try and go the extra mile (literally) for our clients. We do try and keep it under a certain time restriction but this can be best determined by communication. Polywax can damage hair, that is what I have learned in the past with clients who have similar hair to my own...fine. I would suggest something that is natural such as natural keratin products.

FYI also be sure when you are taking them out that your friend doesn't rush as if you do that is when the damage is done. I would also suggest a shampoo "Hair Support", it was developed for Kemo patience and now is on the market and has joined forced with hair extension line (which I don't use nor do I suggest as I have personal experience with them)...anyways, the shampoo is very gentle and doesn't have alchohol. Also promotes growth. I am saying this for Caucasian hair as I don't know from experience with African American hair. If anyone uses it I would love feedback. I know that hair type is dryer than mine...the scalp conditioner is mild enough that it can be used on roots aswell...that said, I still don't put it on my scalp as I don't like to worry about slipage. If there are any products out there that you wonderful ladies use for your extensions, please let me know. So far I know of Redken, Hair Support and So Caps own line especially for Extensions.

Hi Valencia To be 100% honest, I do believe that it just wouldn't blend right as it is European Hair and it is very fine, especially at the ends. This works for me, but I really don't think it will work for the average African American head. I really think Remy is for your hair type, it is a bit thick for my own. The only way for me to tell is to do a whole head on African American hair and to be honest I can't see myself suggesting it...unless the client wanted this and didn't care about the difference...however I can say that the bonds are great but in the end it is all about hair match up. WOW that is horrible. Im sorry about your experience. You should try remyhairtoday. Wonderful lady. I know they are low on product due to a storm overseas BUT, the hair appears to be great. I have samples here and love it. I am not sure about the hair for caucasian as my own is quite fine. Also another wonderful product and worth the $$ is So.Cap hair. You can't buy this without using someone who is certified with the product line. However, I am yet to see this on African American hair. My only experience with this line is with Caucasian hair and it is amazing. Thankyou for your posts about my indian hair. That helps others.

I order mine via the web. However I order in large amounts. Try wigsforyou.com you can find them on several sites. Make sure it is not POLY, keratin sticks or in the old days we called them Monkey Bars. Hope this helps. I am worried a bit about your friend doing them, honeslty I hope your hair doesn't damage, I have seen horrible results from people that try and do it without training.
