I am a resident of Virginia who is following the DC Council election, because I think the Council is in need of some fresh thoughts.
When I review the DC Message board, there are some thoughtful expressions, however, this is not one of them.
Let me elaborate on my credentials before I make this statement. I have served as a career civil servant for five Presidential Adminstrations, four of which I served in the White House Office of Management and Budget--an institution which emphasizes facts.
I look at this article which is long on accusations and short on facts. In particular the statement:
"In talking with two of the other candidates, they think Sam Brooks is lying on his website, they have printed out"
Information that Mr. Rees should produce:
l. Who are the two other candidates?
2. Where are the statements of the other two candidates that demonstrate that Mr. Brooks is lying?
I am sure the electorate of Ward 3 are well informed and will not be guided by such inaccuracies.
We all await Mr. Rees' production of the aforementioned documents.
Failure to do so will discredit the totality of his postings on this message board.
