  1. Although I haven't picked up a good concert on DVD in a while, Universal just released the second installment of its Directors Label series -- this highlights what pretty much are the most talented directors in visual art today. All of them have worked on music videos in the past (that's kinda the main topic on the DVD), but almost all the them have some great feature films under their belt: Jonathan Glazer - Birth, Sexy Beast Spike Jonze - Being John Malkovich, Adaptation Michel Gondry - Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind Mark Romanek - One Hour Photo Here's a link to the material featured on the series: www.directorslabel.com I haven't gotten any of the new discs yet, but the Glazer one will definitely be in my collection within the next week.
  2. Whoa, strange, not sure if this is a spam message or not, but I've actually heard this duo and they really are great. The guy that I'm playing in an acoustic duo with right now is friends with them, too, strange small world.

    Klaus Nomi

I just heard about this new film called The Nomi Song, which documents the life of new wave artist Klaus Nomi. I hadn't heard of either the film or the artist untill my sister at Universal told me about them. Supposedly, this guy Klaus Nomi was a big part of the new wave scene in New York in the late 70's and early 80's. When I checked out the website at www.thenomisong.com, I found out a lot of cool info. This guy Klaus Nomi played with Bowie on his famous SNL appearance. Also, he became one of the first prominent figures to die of AIDS. Basically, I just wanted to know if any of you know anything about Klaus Nomi or The Nomi Song. If so, can you tell me about him? If not, check out the site and tell me what you think. I am really intrigued by him and can't wait to see the film when it comes out in a few weeks.
