Recommended Posts

CH2M HILL is a global leader in full-service engineering, construction and operations. Our Herndon office is growing and has an exciting opportunity. We are currently looking for a talented junior or mid-level environmental scientist to support Environmental Management Systems (EMS) implementation and environmental compliance work in our Northeast region. In this position you will have the opportunity to play a role on all stages of EMS and environmental compliance projects including: scoping and budgeting, client communications, project management, data analysis, implementation, and permitting. You will also regularly travel to client locations to perform data collection, and will have significant client contact at multiple levels in a client organization.

If you are eager to work for a progressive, high-energy company, within a team-oriented office environment, you should apply today!

Basic Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a B.S. degree in Environmental Science with 3 years of Experience. The successful candidate must have the skills, experience, and flexibility to work on general compliance–type projects including multi-media compliance audits and ISO 14001 or other EMS development. Experience working on DOD contracts is also required. The candidate will work across a fairly local geography, and local travel (within 90 minutes of the office) will be required.

Candidates must have an ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including interacting with internal team players, as well as interacting extensively with external clients in support of project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have a B.S. and M.S. in Environmental Science with 6 years of experience. Experience in air quality, environmental permitting, or other environmental quality compliance areas are a plus (i.e. regulatory tracking and negotiations support, compliance training, compliance tool development, data management and reporting, RCRA waste management, Toxic, Release Inventory, facility plans in support of Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure/Stormwater Pollution Prevention/US Oil Pollution Act of 1990, etc.)

Candidates that have strong consulting experience, with other industrial experience in addition to DOD experience, are preferred. This position may include multimedia (ex: water permitting, stormwater, RCRA, and SARA reporting) compliance tasks, so previous experience in these areas are desirable. It may also include configuring and implementing environmental management information system software for multimedia reporting so previous experience implementing and EMIS system is desirable.

To apply for this position, email your resume to careers@ch2m.com, and reference 14000BR/CBDCP in the subject line. CH2M HILL is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.
