Ward 3 Candidate Mini Forum

Gay

Recommended Posts

Interesting. Your screen name wouldn't suggest you were looking for a date...I guess at this point, we should be used to your contradictions Rees.

I'll spare him from having to log in again: "I'm NOT REES!!!!!"

So, Gay Republican, are you asserting then "for the record" (ha!) that you are none of these posters: DC Deep Throat, Vincenzo Corleone, Ramon and/or Roy Stewart, Giovanni Luchese, Tammy Bresloff, Angela Brannon, NikkiDix, MissGloverPark, Officer Magana, Sleazy Sam, Snotty Nose Bob (ick), etc. The Grim Reaper, etc?

Also, what is up with him and "mini"? "Mini-flyers", "Mini-posters", "Mini-forum...."

One imagines Freud having a posthumous field day. Sort to say ;-)

Actually it is a Ward 3 Democrats discussion about the proposed Medical Center:

The Ward 3 Democratic Committee regular monthly meeting will take

place this Tuesday evening at 7:30PM at St. Columba's Episcopal

Church, 4201 Albemarle St. NW (one block west of the Tenleytown Metro).

There will be a special presentation on "Serving the Health Care Needs

of the City's Underserved Population: Is a New Hospital the Answer?"

The program will feature representatives from the Citizens for the

National Capital Medical Center, the DC Hospital Association and the

the DC Primary Care Association. The health care presentation will

start at approximately 8PM. There will be time for questions.

The meeting is open to all registered Democratics.

For further information, call Ward 3 Democratic Chair, Bob Brandon at

966-5333.

I am surprised "Gay Republican" would be invited or want to attend, given the sponsor of the event.

Is anybody going to the ward 3 candidate mini forum tomorrow night up at St Columba Church?

I'M surprised that Rees has said he won't attend...given his previous bragging about how the Hospital Association and health care community in general was "throwing their support" behind him and "giving him their highest rating." Which, by the way, still hasn't happened. Though I'm sure our new friend GR will submit some highly plausible explanation for that. Can't wait!

I am none of these people you speak of.

The Northwest current billed this event as mini forum to take place in the middle of a regular ward three Democrats meeting.

I\'ll spare him from having to log in again: \"I\'m NOT REES!!!!!\"

I am not going to attend but I thought some of you would and would come back with some better insight into the candidates and offer up what they said.

Hmmm...I am looking at last week's NW Current. What page is this event discussed?

I am not looking at it Bfrank. I am just stating what my brother said as I think he will attend this event since he lives a block or two from the church.

That was a wasted posting Truthseeker as nobody can read it.

You have yet to say anything worth listening to. Come back when you have something worth listening to.

Why does this sounds so familiar? Hmmm. Where have I heard this before??? OH Yeah!! Check this out, particularly the routing information:

Since you seem to require some sort of visual help, I'll be happy to post even clearer shots when I have more time. Gotta run.

I saw part of it so what does it have to do with this thing tomorrow night? Nothing that I can detect.

OK, I found a mention of the event on Page 3, the "Week Ahead" box. However, this is a reference of the monthly meeting of the organization with the primary topic being health care with the DC Hospital Association and the DC Primary Care Association. There is no mention of the "mini-Forum" or other aspects of the evening as it pertains to the Ward 3 race. I am not sure what "Gay Republican's" brother was referring to, since "Gay Republican" clearly states that there is a reference to the Ward 3 Candidates "mini Forum".

I would think that given Candidate Rees's pronouncements on, and involvement in the health care industry, this would be a "must attend" event:

Here are links from some "Rees Supporters" in the Health Care industry:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tenleytown/message/3331 (Dr. Michael Griffiths)

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tenleytown/message/2979 (Kathleen Roddy, Nurse)

In this post, "Ms. Roddy" claims that some of the organizations who will be represented tonight at St. Columba's, will infact be endorsing Candidate Rees.

"The American Healthcare Campaign Endorses Jonathan R. Rees For DC City Council, Ward 3 Seat

Because His Vision Of Health Care For All Is Our Vision.

Check Us Out. http://www.yourahcc.org/"

Yet, despite his public pronouncements on Health Care in the District, and his endorsements from national associations, Mr. Rees is declining to attend. Why?

You have a valid point there Bfrank. Indeed, why would Rees not attend unless he knows something we do not.
