Slovak artist Martin Kollar ³Slovakia 001², which will be on view together

with photographs by Darrow Montgomery: ³Postcards from Home² at the Kathleen

Ewing Gallery in Washington, DC between April 23 and May 29, 2004.

 

The exhibition will be unveiled on Friday, April 23, 2004 at 6.00-8.00 pm at

Martin Kollar was born in Zilina, northern Slovakia. He graduated from the

Academy of Music, Drama and Fine Arts in Bratislava in 1992. For many years,

Kollar has photographed changes in his native country. Most recently, he was

awarded the prestigious grant from the Association 3P, a European

organization which recognizes outstanding photographic projects. An

exhibition of his photographs has been traveling in the US under the

auspices of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic. For more information and a
