6th Annual Washington Jewish Music Festival

Recommended Posts

District of Columbia Jewish Community Center

1529 16th St. NW

Washington, DC

The Sixth Annual Washington Jewish Music Festival plows full speed ahead by presenting a superlative and star-studded showcase of Jewish music from across the globe, highlighting a broad spectrum of form, culture and tr adition.

This year, the Festival breaks new ground by assembling a roster of performers united by their desire to cross artistic, chronological and geographical borders. Free jazz jams with chamber music, modern Jewish melodies do a dance of the seven veils with ancient Persian modes, spiritual and liturgical music is born again, contemporary art-rock calls upon today's best-selling people of the book, and the roots of klezmer are exposed and replanted in the rich and fertile soil of Gypsy virtuosity. This is a solid lineup of don't-miss events, so reserve your tickets now.
