Software Developer/analyst

Joining CH2M HILL and their growing M&IS team will do more for your career than you ever Expected! We currently have a Software Developer Analyst opening in our Herndon, Virginia office. As an integral member of our team you will be responsible for working with project team members and clients, to coordinate software development. Programmer will develop for multiple State/Federal Government and Military initiatives, windows and web-based applications and new products using technologies and languages that include VB, VB.NET and SQL Server. This position is involved in all technical phases of the project life cycle and will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of successful solutions that meet or exceed client objectives. The ideal candidate will have the ability to comprehend, document and implement detailed project specifications as well as the ability to adapt to various technologies and simultaneously work on multiple assignments. Your Key Role will be to provide software, Web, and client server development using Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL server. Perform the full lifecycle development, including design, coding, and software documentation. Support system and hardware integration, testing, and maintenance.


Functional/Industry Knowledge:

-3+ years of experience with employing Visual Studio, including ADO, ActiveX exe/DLL, COM, DCOM, SQL Server 7.0/2000, and Access development for 97 and 2000

-3+ years of experience with troubleshooting in development, staging, and production environments

-2+ years of experience with NT platform administration in 4.0 and 2000 server

-1+ years of experience with DotNet and C# preferred

-1+ years of experience with Mobile technologies

-Knowledge of various platforms, including 95, 98, NT 4.0, 2000 Pro Server, and the Software Life Cycle

-Possession of excellent client interface skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills required


Experience with Mobile technologies a plus

Experience with GIS and ESRI Arc IMS/SDE a plus


Education/Certifications or equivalent required:

BA or BS degree in CS or a related field required

MCAD, MCP, or MCSD Certifications a plus
