Regional Project Delivery Manager

The Management and Information Solutions (M&IS) Group, within the Communications and Information Solutions business group, is one of the fastest growing business units in CH2M HILL. M&IS currently has approximately 300 staff distributed throughout the four North American regions with expertise in application development, IT planning and implementation, data base development, management consulting, system planning and integration, mapping and surveying. The M&IS business has been built on new (IT) entry points with existing CH2M HILL clients and a reputation for delivering high quality IT solutions. We have continued to build on this foundation, bringing in new clients and opportunities to "sell the company store". Currently, the M&IS group's primary market is in enterprise spatial (GeoBase) solutions to DOD clients, but expanding rapidly to other federal, local government and commercial customers. We are broadening this market base through several market initiatives: Emergency response collaboration tools (iCIT), enterprise geospatial data solutions (system deployment, data migration and infrastructure mapping and surveying), IT management consulting (work process engineering, IT planning, cyber security assessments, etc.) and GIS utility systems planning and deployment. Our solid base business and these emerging markets provide exciting opportunities for highly qualified and proven leaders to join the team and be part of the successful growth of M&IS. The Northeast Region Project Delivery Manager is a critical role for ensuring a high level of project acquisition and delivery performance as we grow our business in the Northeast. As the Regional Project Delivery Manager you will be able to develop and lead the deployment of resources and project delivery systems to successfully execute and deliver project work (i.e., meet the client’s cost, scope, schedule, and service expectations and the firm’s profitability and positioning goals) within the region. Implement client-focused technologies into delivery systems and promote technology transfer across business lines within the region. Efficiently integrate the regions and business groups project delivery strategy. KEY DUTIES: *Assist with the examination of the firm’s project delivery model(s) in use and continuously evaluate and assist with modification, improvement, or additions to these models *Assist in monthly revenue forecasting (of project backlog) *Determine regional project delivery needs and assist staffing and startup of strategic projects. Understand the regions capabilities and implement systems to ensure that appropriate capabilities are deployed on projects *Oversee implementation of cost-effective processes for achieving regional and business group integration of project delivery methods, processes, tools and measurement metrics *Ensure and efficient and effective two-way communication system within the region for all client development, technology and services, and project delivery information *Develop and implement regional procedures for effective growth and development of project managers, and for deployment of project management tools *Develop and implement regional portfolio management procedures that will lead to increased project performance and will result in meeting the firm’s aggregate margin metrics goals *Manage the regional M&IS project support team (PDL, KA, PA, project controls) to enable efficient and effective proposal support and project portfolio management. *Provide hands-on process support and coaching for project acquisition, including: contract strategy, contract review, scoping, PM/Project Principal selection, pricing, risk management and final PD reviews and approvals. *Facilitate the role of Project Principal through training, project assignments and performance monitoring. *Participate as an active member of the Regional Management Team.

 

Qualified candidates will have a BS or MS degree in a technical or business discipline and a minimum of 10 year’s applicable technical and project management experience.

Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute or as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) by the Construction Management Association of America (or approved equivalents) is preferred. Additional requirements include being highly knowledgeable of the firms project delivery processes, tools and metrics. Must have a good working knowledge of M&IS solutions and project delivery methodologies.
