Web Developer/analyst

As a Web Developer/Analyst you will support the CH2MHILL Northeast M&IS group located in the Herndon, Virginia office. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with project team members and clients, to coordinate web site development. Programmer will develop for multiple .com/.mil initiatives, web-based applications and new products using technologies and languages that include Classic ASP, VBScript & JavaScript, SQL and HTML. This position is involved in all technical phases of the project life cycle and will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of successful solutions that meet or exceed client objectives. The ideal candidate will have the ability to comprehend, document and implement detailed project specifications as well as the ability to adapt to various technologies and simultaneously work on multiple assignments.

 

Interested candidates must have the following:

 

1. A BA/BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

 

2. Applicants must be U.S. Citizen for obtaining a U.S. DOD Secret Clearance.

 

3. A minimum of 5 years as a Web Developer with experience in system design, database architecture and development in a small to mid sized environment designing and developing client applications.

 

4. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, while effectively managing priorities and communicating progress.

 

5. Understanding of project lifecycle, strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently or in a team.

 

6. Must be able to translate business requirements into user-friendly system design and code.

 

7. A dedicated, dependable, and self-driven person who is always trying to learn, improve, and consistently demonstrate productivity.

 

8. Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm and innovation.

 

Technical Requirements

1. 5+ years of solid experience in the use of HTML, DHTML, Cascading Style Sheets, and Javascript for data entry and validation pages. Ability to create complex tables and page layouts.

 

2. 3+ years experience designing, developing and maintaining database driven dynamic Web sites and content management using Classic ASP and VBScript.

 

3. 1+ years experience designing, developing and maintaining database driven dynamic Web sites and content management using ASP.Net with VB.Net or C#.

 

4. Advanced proficiency and extensive knowledge of web development and design technologies, and publishing applications.

 

5. Strong knowledge of computer/Web graphics, type fonts, and Web page layout.

 

6. Understanding of browser compatibility and screen limitations.

 

7. Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Visio, Web Statistics and FTP programs.

 

8. Authoring and Design: Macromedia MX Studio, Homesite, Visual Studio.net 2003, Adobe Photoshop. Programming: Classic ASP, ASP.Net (VB.Net or C#), HTML, SQL, VBScript, Javascript Databases: Relational Database Design, Microsoft Access, SQL Server 2000. Servers: Windows 2000 & 2003 Server, IIS 5.1/6.0

 

 

Other Desired Skills:

1. A background in GIS technologies and a desire to develop new skills a Plus. Experience in development environments such as ESRI ArcMap, ArcIMS and ArcSDE.

 

2. Technical skills not required but beneficial include:

Programming: Experience with .NET programming using (VB) ASP.NET WebForms, User Controls and code-behinds, VB, VBA, Macromedia Flash & ActionScript.

Mobile Technologies a Big Plus

Databases: Working Knowledge of Oracle 9i, PL/SQL
