Metrobus Service To Change On March 27, 2005

30, 32, 34, 35, 36 Pennsylvania Avenue Line

Weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will change. Additional time will be built into the weekday morning and afternoon rush hour schedules to insure buses leave terminals on time. The 35 bus from Naylor Road station at 5:09 p.m. will be changed to leave at 5:12 p.m.

 

52, 53, 54 14th Street Line

Selected buses that begin or end at 14th St. and Colorado Ave. NW will be extended to begin or end at Takoma station to reduce crowding during the morning and afternoon rush hours. Traveling northbound towards the station, three buses between 6 and 8 a.m., and eight buses between 3:30 and 7 p.m. will change. Southbound from Takoma, four buses running between 6 and 8:30 a.m. and four between 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. will change. Other bus times also will change slightly.

 

62 Takoma-Petworth Line

Southbound buses that leave Takoma station on weekdays at 4:57 and 5:25 a.m. will be changed to leave at 4:50 and 5:20 a.m. Northbound buses that leave Georgia Ave-Petworth station at 5:58 and 6:32 a.m. will be changed to leave at 5:51 and 6:30 a.m.

 

64 Fort Totten-Petworth Line

The 5:16 a.m. bus from Fort Totten Metro station on weekdays will be changed to leave at 5:11 a.m.

 

66, 68 Petworth-11th Street Line

Southbound buses that leave Georgia Ave-Petworth station on weekdays at 5:14, 5:32 and 5:42 a.m., 3:48 and 3:57 p.m. will be changed to leave the station at 5:07, 5:27, 5:37 a.m., 3:46 and 3:56 p.m.

 

Buses that leave Federal Triangle on weekdays at 5:37 and 6:08 a.m., 2:58, 3:08, 3:18 and 3:26 p.m. will be changed to leave at 5:30 and 6:06 a.m., 2:56, 3:05, 3:14 and 3:24 p.m.

 

80 North Capitol Street Line

Weekday schedules will change. Four buses will be added to reduce crowding in the rush hours-one southbound in the morning, one southbound and two northbound in the afternoon. In the afternoon rush hours, buses will leave the Kennedy Center every 10-20 minutes and will begin at McPherson Square every 30 minutes.

 

90, 92 U Street-Garfield Line

On weekdays between 7 and 8 a.m., two northbound buses will be added to the schedule-one 90 and the other a 92-to reduce crowding. Other bus times during the same time period also will change.

 

A2, A6, A7, A8, A42, A46, A48 Anacostia-Congress Heights Line

Weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will change to improve service and minimize layover times in Livingston for customers who go around the loop. Between 3 and 4 p.m. on weekdays, two southbound buses will be added to the schedule-one to run as an A2 and the other as an A6-to reduce crowding.

 

A4 Anacostia-Fort Drum Line

Weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will change to minimize layover times at D.C. Village and make it more convenient for customers who ride around the loop.

 

E2, E3 Military Road-Crosstown Line

The Saturday schedule will change to reflect current traffic conditions and to improve service. E3 buses will run every 40 minutes between Friendship Heights, Riggs Park and Ivy City. E2-E3 buses will run every 20 minutes between Friendship Heights and Fort Totten stations.

 

G2 P Street-LeDroit Park Line

The weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will change to reflect current traffic conditions and to improve service. On weekends, buses will run every 30 minutes. On Sundays, service will be extended to run from 11 p.m. to midnight.

 

NEW K1 Takoma-Walter Reed Line

A new bus will run between Takoma station and Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) and replace part of the K2 route. Buses will run every 18 minutes on weekdays from the station between 6-9 a.m. and between 3:36-6:54 p.m. At WRAMC's entrance, a security guard will get on each bus and ride to the exit gate. You must have proper ID to get off the bus within the complex. The new K1 buses will run a clockwise loop in the mornings from Takoma station to WRAMC via Carroll, Cedar, 4th and Butternut streets. After traveling through WRAMC, buses will continue via Georgia Ave., Kalmia Rd., Eastern Ave., Blair Rd. and Cedar and Carroll streets to the station. In the afternoons, buses will run a counterclockwise loop from the station to WRAMC and back to the station.

 

K2 Takoma-Fort Totten Line

The route will be shortened to run only between Fort Totten and Takoma stations. K2 buses will run every 20 minutes, and will leave Fort Totten station between 6:19-9:02 a.m. and between 3:20-6:40 p.m. Buses will leave Takoma station between 5:58-9:02 a.m. and between 3:20-6:40 p.m.

 

X2 Benning Road-H Street Line

Four buses will be added to the weekday schedule to run in each direction throughout the day to reduce crowding. Bus times will change.

 

Maryland

81, 82, 83, 86 College Park Line

The Saturday and Sunday schedules will change. On Sundays, 81, 86 and 84 bus times will be coordinated for more evenly spaced service between Rhode Island Ave station and Mt. Rainier.

 

84, 85 Rhode Island Avenue-New Carrollton Line

The weekday schedule will change. In addition, bus times on Saturdays will be coordinated with 83, 86 and T18 buses for more evenly spaced service between Rhode Island Ave station and Mt. Rainier. On Sundays, the first two westbound buses will start at New Carrollton instead of East Pines.

 

87 Laurel Express Line

Two earlier buses will be added to the schedule. One bus will leave Laurel (1st and Main streets) at 4:46 a.m. and will arrive at Greenbelt station at 5:32 a.m., to connect with the 5:36 a.m. inbound train. The other bus will leave the station at 5:51 a.m., and connect with the first outbound train.

 

B24, B25 Bowie-Belair Line

The schedule will change. During rush hours, buses will run at closer intervals. The 5:45 a.m. bus that leaves New Carrollton station will be discontinued.

 

C2, C4 Greenbelt-Twinbrook Line

The Saturday schedule will change to relieve crowding. Buses will run every 24 minutes on each route during the midday and every 12 minutes on the combined route. Bus times will change through most of the day.

 

D12, D14 Oxon Hill-Suitland Line

Weekend D14 buses will run via Regency Parkway. Saturday service will be extended to run after 11:30 p.m.

 

F1 Chillum Road Line

Buses will be changed to run every 25 minutes during weekday morning and afternoon rush hours.

 

P12 Eastover-Addison Road Line

On Saturdays, service will start earlier in the morning and run later at night.

 

R4 Queens Chapel Road Line

The weekday and Sunday schedules will change. Service will be slightly less

frequent during morning and afternoon rush hours.

 

T16, T17 Greenbelt Line

The weekday schedule will change. In addition, buses will return to serving the reopened NASA-Goddard Visitors Center on Saturdays.

 

T18 Annapolis Road Line

On Saturdays, bus times will be coordinated with 83, 86 and 84 buses for more evenly spaced service between Rhode Island Ave station and Mt. Rainier.

 

V12 District Heights-Suitland Line

On Sundays, an additional bus will leave Suitland station at 7 a.m. going to Addison Road-Seat Pleasant station.

 

Virginia

4A-S Pershing Drive-Arlington Boulevard Line

On weekdays, buses running in the midday will be changed to arrive and leave Rosslyn station every 25 minutes. 4A, 4B, 4E and 4H buses times will change during weekday rush hours and evenings to reflect current traffic conditions and to improve schedule reliability.

 

7A, 7F Lincolnia-North Fairlington Line

On Saturdays, buses that run between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. will be changed to arrive and leave Pentagon station every 33-34 minutes.

 

25A, 25F, 25G, 25J, 25P Ballston-Bradlee-Pentagon Line

On weekdays during the midday, 25J buses will be changed to run every 62 minutes. Weekday rush hour and evening bus times on 25A, 25F, 25G and 25P buses will change to reflect current traffic conditions and to improve schedule reliability.

 

28B Alexandria-Tysons Corner Line

On Saturdays, the 8:57 p.m. bus from King Street station will be changed to leave at 8:53 p.m. and arrive at Tysons Corner Center at 9:53 p.m.-its current arrival time.

 

The 9:02 p.m. bus from Tysons Corner Center will be changed to leave at 9 p.m. and arrive at King Street station at 10:02 p.m. The 11:05 p.m. bus from Tysons Corner Center will be changed to leave at 11:10 p.m. and arrive at King Street station at 12:07 a.m. Also, buses that leave Tysons Corner Center at 8:02 and 10 p.m. and King Street station at 10:10 p.m. will be rescheduled to pass points along the route 5 to 15 minutes later than currently scheduled.

 

REX Richmond Highway Express Line

All weekday, Saturday and Sunday buses will be changed to leave King Street station two to three minutes later than now scheduled. Bus times at other points along the route will not change.
