Enjoy Black History Month At The Emma Mae Gallery

Recommended Posts

The Emma Mae Gallery in conjunction with Trade Secrets and Zawadi invites you to celebrate Black History Month beginning February 1-28th. Visit us at the gallery (1515 U Street, NW, Washington, DC) and view great B & W photos of the History of Black Americans. Featured in the exhibit are photos of the struggle of Black Americans to obtain freedom and equality in the United States along with photos of Jazz musicians, vocalist and entertainer. Many of the photos have never been on public exhibit. Enjoy viewing one of the few photos of Malcolm and Martin, Martin and Stokeley Carmichael etc. The Photos are from the collection, The History of Rhythm, Blues, Jazz and Gospel in B&W, the collection of John El Badr, Jim Harvey, Jamal Muhammed and contribution by Michael Young. You can also view the work of local artist John Earl Cooper, Neil Floyd and Afrika Abney and the prints of African Artist Papa Gora Tall.

Give your loved one the Gift of History for Valentine's Day. Give him or her a meaningful photo, print or painting that will increase in value over time, or pick up the traditional Valentines Day Gift at reasonable prices.
