Founded in July 2002, the Hardheadz consists of four band members: Mike Allen, Jason Motoshige, Stephen Demby and Jeremy Demby. The band blends hip-hop, jazz, blues and rock in a live lyric, guitar, drums and keyboard format, exhibiting a range of electric sonic grooves. The vision of the Hardheadz is to deliver live original compositions to a hip-hop era that is based on samples, drum machines, and loops. With various geographical influences, the group resides in Maryland, spanning from Towson to College Park. Here is where they call home, but they've already tried to expose home to the world... The Hardheadz upcoming full-length CD project, Addicted, is due to be released in the Spring of 2004. After winning Towson University’s Battle of the Bands, the group began recording their first 6 song demo release, “It’s Ours,” and started playing venues from Ebony Lounge and DC’s Aqua Club to shows in Miami and the Sugar Bar in Lower Manhattan. The fact that the band’s keyboardist is a DJ on Towson’s XTSR will play a big part in the groups marketing plan. Hardheadz have been performing shows along the east coast from Boston to Washington D.C., with local and reputable industry artists including J-Live, Talib Kwali, N.E.R.D. and the Clipse.
